| After looking around MAL and looking at people profiles, mabye it just that i have bad luck and i am finding mostly male users. i don't know if it is true or anything but it seams like more guys watch anime than girls. i don't know if the same or oppisite is true for manga. i would like to know your thoughts and if you think some people just put female on their gender even thow they are men... |

| You get genderbending everywhere online, so certainly there will be some guys listing as female and some girls listing as male, but anime is still widely enjoyed by both genders. It may just be that sites like this have a largely young male userbase for various possible reasons. There are plenty of girls around here, though. Ratio according to the actual profiles is only 1.3:1, which is pretty good even taking some unknowns and genderbenders in to account. |

| tough to say, at my college, there's a gaming club that I go to regularly and about 90% of the gaming club members watch anime and about 85% of the club are guys. I've gone to their dorms/apartments/etc and watched anime with them before and it was cool (played some games too). A lot of them take Japanese too (I'm weird, taking German). The girls in the club who watch anime as well as play games tend to watch a lot of different stuff. The one girl in the club mostly reads manga though to be sure. Then there's also an anime club. Most of the members there are girls I noticed, because I went for two weeks and noticed most of the guys just stopped showing up because the officers are girls and want to watch some rather girly boring things that I don't care about. So, I can't tell, I only go to the gaming club now, gone since last fall, and went to anime club twice in the spring. But I can safely say that anime tastes of the gaming club suit me much better than that of the gaming club, perhaps that just indicates the type of people who go to anime clubs and that maybe there needs to be a shojo anime club and a shonen anime club (the college I went to before had an anime club of mostly guys and we watched Higurashi and mostly action and comedies). I can tell you that most jugglers are men though. |

| Seen this question a billion times but oh well, both sexes watch anime near enough equally perhaps tilted slightly towards men. I'm not sure about the male/female ratio of MAL users is though. |

| I find the male to female ratio here pretty. Lotsa animes appeal to both audience lately. Even animes made for shonen audience have some appeal to female audience and lately I see some guys liking stuff that only girl would enjoy like shonen-ai. |

| go to any convention and you will have your answer. 90% of them are sausage fests with a bunch of smelly teenage to middle aged men who haven't changed their costume in a couple days and the only girls there are probably not meant to see the light of day or they only pretty one is probably jail bait. |
