| Recently, I've noticed that alot of girl's would comment on another girl's profile saying, "OMG!!!! ~You're soooooo pretty!!! ^_^ " ... Clearly when the girl in the picture isn't... Obviously people can tell that is a huge lie, and I don't see what that girl gains by writing the comment. It could just be sarcasm, but wouldn't that mean that girl's are as sly and cunning as guys? Discuss. |

| It's because Facebook is like all social media on the internet, including here to an extent, one big circle-jerk. I haven't used anything but the inbox function to keep up with some long distance friends for about 4 years now. I don't use a phone so it's the only way I chat and arrange to meet with lot of friends who live far away. |

| Maybe I'm just being paranoid (As usual) but maybe it's some sort of strategy. They keep complimenting her so that she won't even try to improve her looks anymore since she got what she wanted to hear. And once she stops improving her looks, the complimenters can take advantage by making themselves prettier compared to the girl who's being praised. But then again, I have fucking paranoia. |

| Well, either they're trying to be nice and give their friend a self-esteem boost. Or they're being manipulative and trying to get on the girl's good side. Or, there is a third reason that does not involve any lies whatsoever: since beauty is subjective, they -GASP- genuinely believe said girl you find fugly is actually pretty and are telling her so. |
