Opened up due to popular demand, this thread's purpose is to organize an anime livestream with members of this club in the future.

Therefore we need to decide what anime we are going to watch and when we'll start up the stream. I'd like every interested member to post an anime suggestion (preferably from our enlightenment list) in this thread.
Also, as Amberleh has indicated that she wants to stream for us, I'd like to know possible dates from her to assure that as much people as possible can participate.

to Start off, I'd like to see a movie from Satoshi Kon or a work from Yuasa, folowed by a short OVA to round things up.
I'd also support the showing of short series such as FLCL or Gunbuster.

Not too sure about joining right now. My connection speed is horrible during the weekdays. Although I think Mind Game would be a great anime movie to watch. It's a break from the norm. Surreal from the art all the way to the story.

Timezone issue would make it hard for me to keep up with. Well it doesn't matter as long as the majority could.

As for the show, I would say again the shows I posted on the comment box, Kowarekake no Orgel or Pale Cocoon.

I'd also like to see Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki if subs are out for it at that time.
Timezone doesn't matter to me as I am not bound by regular office hours atm.

I download and watch anime at my convenience, so don't count me in, but if your stream happens to be running at a time when I'm at my PC, I may just join in for fun.

A Studio Ghibli film could be good, Spirited Away, Porco Rosso, or Princess Mononoke in particular. Alternatively, Redline would be nice.

Redline sounds good, and I love Porco Rosso.

However, we should probably suggest some things that could go on our relations lists and most people haven't watched yet. For example:
Nasu - Summer in Andalusia
Anne No Nikki
The Sky Crawlers
Freedom OVA series

Or are guys more in favour of a rewatch of older entries?

I'm usually free any time. As for what movies, you'll need to give me a good place to download them in good quality. I own a few, but not many- The ones I own that we would be likely to watch are Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Nausica: Valley of the Wind, and... Uhh... That's it. I have some series but it's probably best not to stream a series unless it's a short OVA. I have the Slayers movie too, but it's kind of bad.

OH. I KNOW. I HAVE THE UTENA MOVIE. THAT could be a night of fun and weirdness.

We could also have a 'bad anime' night where we watch a bad anime movie or a couple episodes of a bad anime, which might be fun too. I have the X movie- That's pretty up there in terms of bad. I also just have a ton of stuff that I bought when I was 12-13 just because I liked the covers, and most of them are bad.

Anyway, let me know when you guys come to a decision- Or maybe get a list of like 10 together and we can poll it. From there I'll need to know where I can download this stuff.

How about sometime next week then?
I am free at any time except Wednesday, imho we could also test out a short stream this week.

>X The Movie
Ugh, don't remind me.

Yeah I was thinking a short stream test was a good idea as well.

And you know you loved the X movie in all it's pointlessly gory glory. And that ending- If you've read the manga and watched the anime like 20 times like me, the ending of the movie is particularly depressing.

Redline sounds good. It's totally my kind of anime.

I'm up for anything really, as long as it's not boring.

Then Bible Black is perfect for you.
As a child, I was told that society is a melting pot of talents; knowledge and experience combined to form important alloys that will contribute to mankind. When I got to highschool, however, I thought that it's more like a river in which the water represents our peers while we ourselves are the stones in the river. Constant erosion by mindless majority sheeping has made us lose our unique edge. After I hit the age of 18, I realized that I've been wrong all along. Society is no melting pot. Society is no river. Society is a person, a very skilled rapist, and he has fucked us all.

I own Redline on Bluray; I could stream that. I've also god Ghibli movies, Satoshi Kon movies, Freedom, Gunbuster, and many more. When someone has the chance, I'd like to test out my top possible quality for streaming.

And Amberleh, totally down to watch terrible anime. I've seen the X movie once before and it made me laugh pretty hard.

Hey I know several people were in the midst of watching the Utena series- What say we make the movie our first official stream? I've got it on DVD and it would DEFINITELY be a fun movie to watch in a large group just because it's so bizzare are trippy.

Anyway, what do you think about having a livestream at this weekend/beginning of the next week?

We should choose a title that everyone can watch without prior knowledge. If we expect the viewers to be familiar with it we can choose big franchises like EVA, etc. for movies, at most.

I'm will watchanything as long as the quality is alright.

I will most likely not participate in this live project, but I just wanted to say that, from my experience with simulwatching, it is usually the best to pick something fun and good but not to complex/obtuse to watch. That's why I think Redline, as was suggested before, would be a great choice. Ghibli stuff as well. Also, Summer Wars and, perhaps, Colorful (Movie).

And, above all, I would recommend streaming Tamala 2010: A Punk Cat in Space.

True.
I watched it long time ago, but I remember it being quite a trip. Tamala (the protagonist) is Hello Kitty gone punk - an obscenity-spewing, short- tempered cute-looking cat on a journey in a consumerist, dystopian world probably made under the influence of certain psychoactive substances.

And the music is great.

Ok guys, so what do you say about the following series for our first livestream (I'd like to organize this rather quickly):
1) Gunbuster/Top wo Nerae!
2) Pale Cocoon

Both are considered classics and are on our enlightenment lists. They're also rather short so we could finish all of it in under 4 hours if someone is under time pressure.
Is that ok for you?

Attention Patricians and Plebeians in Training,

Today I will be livestreaming M.D. Geist at 11:00PM GMT. You will find my livestream here. Prepare yourselves for a terrible series and consider this some training for assessing what is truly good! Hopefully we shall all be in for a good laugh.
