It's not like they're homophobic or anything, it's just that they would flip out if they saw how, uh, exciting it could get. They already know and accept the fact that I'm an anime freak though ;P |

I wouldn't have wanted them to find out as they're extremely homophobic and it would have resulted in an awkward situation. My mother knows I watch anime and has never told me anything about it. My father doesn't care enough about what I watch to notice. |

They already think anime is the source of hell already, if they knew that I watched/liked yuri they would flip shit. | She certainly knows I watch anime and read manga. My room is full of 'de manga! So I bought my first yaoi a few years back at Otakon, and she demanded to look at it, and luckily, it was incredibly tame, nothing more than kissing really. She doesn't know that I now have some far more graphic yaoi (I still don't have much though). Or that I have Battle Royale manga (maybe she knows that, but not how graphic it is), though I am over 18, so whatevs. |

| Yeah they do, definitely. I even got my mom to complete Death Note, and watch bits and pieces of Code Geass and Monster. (Though she only watched English Dubbed versions) My dad always stops to check out the action in Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children when I'm re-watching it too (which is A LOT ^^). EDIT: Didn't read the topic's title closely (or it was changed), I don't watch YAOI, I was referring to anime. Sigh. |

Well, I've never gone out of the way to tell my mom, but she's come across some of it before and she doesn't care. She's cool about that kind of stuff though. She found my Ar tonelico calendar full of half-naked chicks and the first thing she asked was, "So... do they do it together or something?" My dad would probably care, but it's not like he can do anything about it since I'm an adult and I'm not living with him. |

Also, most live-action fans don't "forget" those shows. It has more to do with the fact that such shows have already ended and people generally prefer to discuss things that are currently airing. It doesn't mean they forgot about it or don't care about it; They simply don't wanna discuss something they have already discussed to death. As for the original question, my parents really don't mind it for the most part. My mom thinks its strange and my dad is indifferent, but they're alright with it. I don't watch yaoi, but if I did and my parents found out....well, I don't believe they would like that too much, heh. |
| Well, they know I watch anime. I would never let them find out that I watch yaoi, they are somewhat homophobic but they would also consider it as "porn". Sure, my parents are forgiving about some things, but gay relationships are a no to them. I myself would really love for them to know that I like that sort of stuff, simply because I am blunt and weird about subjects, but in fear of what would happen I don't tell them. |

Stein book i was reading when i was in elementary school, even in middle school, that looked somewhat provocative. My mom might just think it's amusing that i read/watch such stuff, but my dad.....oh, my dad. He won't do anything, but just knowing he knows would be the most awkward thing ever. |
