This is peak science imo. Both sides uses their scientific weapons and inventions to their full potential. The aerial battle itself is great.

Xeon did have a secret weapon up in their sleeves but Senku is back! This episode is well worth waiting after all the hardship Senku has went through. Cool to also see Matsukaze get some spotlight in this epiosde.

Yeah actually, the real question is what is Senku doing in an airplane which can barely hold itself, at least according to standards set nowadays, lol. I mean this guy literally avoided his death a couple of episodes ago and is now experiencing realtime gyro in the most reckless way. Though yeah, he the main guy for a reason after all. I’m really glad how the entire bunch still kept their cool and proceeded with every bit of planning even when Senku was out. You see, winning that aerial fight wasn’t just something which happened as is.

Wasn’t easy to guess but yeah, Xeno’s men were indeed working on a submarine. That full-fledged attack upfront might just seem way too much, and yeah it was as well, till that twist with Stanley in the end, but yeah, Tsukasa and bunch arriving at Xeno’s base and doing what seemed like an embarrassing defeat for a moment, to a guaranteed win was super hype. Now yeah, just one more episode, and I think I know where they're going to conclude.

Senku back in the fold already is crazy. This dude needs to be resting and letting Chrome and the others handle things! One of the best Dr. Stone episodes so far though, this was intense and that last 2-3 minutes of the episode was INSANE.

We have come so far in Dr. Stone man, we went from struggling to make revival fluid to having fullblown WW2 style dogfights with planes and having high tech submarines lmao. Senku and Ryuusui vs the Stanley decoy was awesome, whoever they were, they were a great pilot but clearly too focused on modern dogfighting techniques. It's still the stoneworld after all, so Senku using the powder to stall out their engine was to be expected. Anything's fair game in this world lol.

Can't believe had this high tech submarine ready to go for war though. He was fully prepared for someone else to revive and be hostile.

That ending!!! Stanley pulling up onboard and shooting matsukaze and mozu was wild! Looked like the kingdom of science was going to suffer a decisive defeat, but Senku had planned for this. Tsukasa and Kohaku with the reverse uno, goosebumps. Both sides with hostages. Who is gonna blink first! We are set up for an amazing finale next week, hopefully it won't be too long until we get that 2nd cour announcement!

What an incredible episode! It was so frustrating to see the Science Kingdom lose: some kids taking on armed soldiers. Things seemed hopeless when Stanley showed up, taking down Mozu and Matsukaze (by the way, the replacement pilot got a pretty nice camera shot 😏).

But Tsukasa taking Xeno hostage and seeing Xeno's face, realizing that he wasn't actually winning... that was glorious. Now I understand why Senkuu, despite being wounded, got on the plane. It was all part of the strategy: if he had stayed on the ship, he would have been used as a hostage. Now the Science Kingdom has a slight advantage with Xeno as a bargaining chip. Chrome, Tsukasa and the rest did an incredible job of turning the tables.

Not a checkmate but a stalemate! Both sides have each pinned right where they want them. They teased us good thinking the dogfight was the major attraction. Not when considering a surprise ground assault. Makes sense with everyone's eyes up worried about the plane that Xeno would send in ground soldiers at the same time. The dogfight itself was awesome. Stanley, or who we think is him, did a great job maneuvering around the sky so Senku and Ryusei couldn't get a lock. Having to use the same method as before with the acetylene gas. Sucks that Senku is so weak from the bullet shot now that he dropped another bottle right in there with them.

Matsukaze and Mozu did well to subdue the enemy soldiers. Combining ancient and new world techniques. Those soldiers relied too much on intimidating the kingdom of science with their machine guns. Some capable fighters with no fear was all it took to flip that on them.

That is until Stanley himself popped out. Quickly showing how effective a literal trained military soldier is. Hitting both with wounding but not killing shots without getting hit himself. The ultimate weapon being a crazy submarine makes the most sense with them being right there on the water.

Tsukasa had great timing bursting into Xeno lair at the right moment. Now each side has some negotiating to do.

This episode was exciting. There always new things happening, and you really never knew what would they do next. Although is kinda weird they showed Stanley having that internal monologue throughout the whole fight, and then they reveal it wasn't him.

But Dr. X is underestimating the Science Kingdom, because they actually checkmated him too, with Tsukasa at his doorstep, it won't be easy for him to resolve this sitation.

Also, the big invention was actually a submarine, crazy.

Really excited to see how this will end though. It seems this arc is reaching its end in the next episode though. I wonder how things will play out.
Also, finally caught up with Dr. Stone! It has been a long trip these past few months!
I have to say though, that this new season hasn't been that exciting, the anime is not being able to maintain "fresh" with its ideas, and they are glossing over a lot of stuff (like how they quickly made a drill and a whole tunnel to get to Dr. Xeno).

I absolutely loved how everyone’s pov throughout the different battles were connected, great storytelling.
Also loved the fact that not even US XXI century military science could be infallible in the stone world. Machine guns vs spears? 🀩 Enjoyed this ep a lot bc even though they showed so many different battle approaches, new weapons and strategies, they still made science/intelligence their strongest weapon, staying true to the story’s main premise🫢🏽 Also, miss Gen so muchhhh, cant wait to see them back together.

Bro we were all wrong about Xeno’s weapon lol, I never even thought about a damn submarine, that’s amazing, and it worked like a charm for them too, I know they’re the villains but I couldn’t help but feel hyped lol, it’s a battle of science after all, it’s exciting on both sides. And man was the dogfight stupid fun, having a military mangaka on hand to explain the tactics and maneuvers was a good idea too, I enjoyed the hell out of that no matter how many rules of flying it may have broke lol, the OST also kicked ass, it reminded me of 80s hair-metal music which fit it so well, props to whoever made the decision to include that.

And just when I thought I had been surprised enough this episode, some beautiful babe of a Stanley lookalike was the real pilot that Senku and Ryusui were fighting, and then the real one comes out and subdues both Moz and Matsukaze, I feel bad for both of them taking a bullet which will most likely ruin their abilities to fight, but damn was Stanley smooth af there lol, can’t even be mad, I’m thrilled even, and this is also a good way to explain how Senku and Ryusui were even able to win the dogfight against a real ace fighter pilot.

But the one thing I wasn’t surprised about was the ending of this episode, I had a feeling after seeing the sub that the only way the Kingdom of Science wins this is by putting Xeno in a situation where he has to call off the attack, and who else but the squad invading the lion’s den. I’m so sad there’s only one episode left next week but I absolutely can’t wait for it at the same time.

Bruh what's with Senku and Ryusui walking unshielded-unarmored towards a militant that wields a machinegun!? Were they hoping to capture him with just a pistol?

If it was Stanley and even if he didn't have his machine-gun, he still could've beaten the shit out of both Dr. Scientist and Captain Tycoon with his bare hands. Did they forget Stanley had already survived a plane crash once?

Except for this rather unsettling oversight, rest of the episode was amazing. I do think some of the dogfight scenes drew inspiration from the movie "Maverick", but the whole battle was fun to watch nonetheless. It was good to have someone explain all the aerial tactics the two pilots were performing.

It was a bit saddening to see all the people on Perseus being taken captive, but hope that won't last long.

The guesses I had for Xeno's huge science weapon:

Missile? That would kinda be an overkill for just one ship. Also Xeno wants manpower, so killing everyone doesn't make sense.

Spaceship? Would it be another one of the many "convenient coincidences" this series has had, where Xeno is already close to finishing a spaceship to conquer moon? But Xeno mentioned it is for dealing with the enemies. A spaceship to deal with a ship won't make sense.

Helicopter? Something that can move fast but is more maneuverable than an airplane and can be used to invade a boat. Perhaps it would be a safe way to deal with things being thrown(such as petrification device). But Helicopter would be even more vulnerable to Acetylene gas attack than an airplane.

So yep, Helicopter was my best guess.

First half was ok with the dogfight. Unecessary explaining every single move they do. But the second half went CRAZY. Plot twists left and right. Stanley is so cool even though he's the villain. Dr. X looked geeked at the end. Loved it.

This episode was ABSOLUTE CINEMA! Best episode of the season so far.

The dogfight was already great. I couldn't have possibly predicted all the twists and turns that happened in the 2nd half. Also, isn't that mangaka from Season 1 or 2? The dude finally became useful with some proper screentime lmao. And he was a military mangaka. How convenient.

Wait, so the weapon Xeno was working on was a submarine? Bruh. I thought it was a missile. Tbh, it does look like a missile. It's so badass. It was a genius plan to invade the ship with a sub while the team was focused on the battle on air.

Wait, the person flying the plane wasn't even Stanley??? They even had Stanley's VA dub the female pilot's lines. Bruh. I get that this is probably because this wasn't a problem in the manga so the anime had to do this not to spoil the surprise. But it still feels like cheating tbh. This could've been avoided if the pilot was male from the start.

Man, this episode was just twist after twist. I'm not even mad that it ended on a cliffhanger. If anything, it makes me more excited for the next episode. Shame that it will be the last episode of this part tho. Can't wait.

A dogfight with top gun esque music to go with it.
Senku uses an old bluff; pretending to have automatic weapons.
After chasing eachother all around the sky, Ryusui finally has a lock on but the other pilot is jinkingm Ryusui and Senku does something unanticipated to the modern mind piloting the other plane; climbing and bombards it with the same weapon that earned them their current plane.

Meanwhile, the enemy sneaks up on the Perseus with their submarine and raids the ship. Most of the stone worlders and de-petrified surrender to their firearms and grenades but the island duo stop them with only spears and such.

The bombardment works but exhausted Senku accidentally downs the plane he is on, too. The poor aim of the other pilot reveals they weren't Stanley; Xeno's strongest knight Stanley joins the raid and bloodily takes down the island duo.

But just as Dr. Xeno's revealed the product of his Kingdom's science, the submarine, Dr. Chrome's drill was a success and the youth kingdom of science's strongest knight, Tsukasa, has Dr. Xeno at spearpoint.

My guess for Xeno's weapon was completely wrong. I thought it was a rocket, but it was actually a submarine with a ramming spike attached to the front, which made quick work of the front end of Senku's ship.

It was truly a game of 3D chess which felt more like a 5D chess if that were to ever make sense. The dogfight in the air was enjoyable to watch as Senku and Ryusui did really well against their opponent. After their win and an unfortunate crash land later, the opponent pilot that the duo defeated wasn't Stanley, but a subordinate, which meant that Stanley was free to invade the ship and turn the tables on Moz and Matsukaze's comeback battle way too easily.

For a moment, it did look like checkmate for Senku's group, but that could be better said for Xeno himself, as Tsukasa came crashing in, weapon ready in hand. Talk about turning the table more than once in this episode! With next week being the last episode, it'll be interesting to see how this situation will unfold further. Senku's group should have the advantage since they have Xeno hostage now, but you can't rule out any other twists and turns that could favour either side.

Xeno's submarine looks like Nautilius from Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas by Jules Verne. I guessed at the beginning of the season that Xeno's side would be coming with a submarine but it turned out to be a plane. However, a submarine was inevitable since there's Perseus and the majority of the battle is taking place on water, after all. Seeing the secret weapon being built underground in the basement instead of a drydock was pretty misleading. Xeno knows his ways about warfare.

Had Xeno just boarded the submarine as well, all Senku's plans would've foundered. Somewhat careless on Xeno's part not to be together with his best man, Stanley. He should have locked himself in a steel room in the submarine where he can control it.

The primitive spears winning against modern guns was pretty stupid but hey at least Stanley was there to fix this nonsense. I thought that the majority of Xeno's team consisted of soldiers.

Chrome's drills when used with sheer willpower could dig through kilometers of rock until the enemy base in under a day. If only modern stuff were as durable as them.

The science lesson of this episode emphasizes the fact that acetylene gas chokes combustion engines.

A fine episode with decent animation ignoring the fan service.
