| This kind of comedy being a miss for many people might be one thing. But then we also get a crowd of self-inserts who can't take their male lead being incredibly lame and the waifu being a brat with sole purpose of being annoying. But I guess score will go up after season ends, as the people who watch till the end will usually give it more than 5. But MAL standards are what they are. For some reason people only score 7+ here, so it's correct to assume things below 7, not to mention below 6, are seen negatively. |

An overwhelming majority of shows on MAL in particular fall into the black hole of scores in between 7 and 7.5. Anything the deviates too far from that are the clear popular and unpopular shows. TC, this show isn't popular cause while I think it is a very funny comedy, comedy is subjective and it clearly isn't landing with most of the MAL users scoring it. The rest of the show is very cheap so if the comedy doesn't hit there's nothing else there. |

| First of all, some of you folks need to stop saying things like "People probably hate it just to hate on anything that's not a shonen/ not perfect waifus" etc. People have different preferences in everything. You need to understand not all sorts of humor land with everyone and this show definitely focuses on the clown vs straight man" comedy format which doesn't click with everyone. Now, me being a smartass on a high horse aside: I find this show extremely boring. The gags feel like written by an AI that started learning what comedy is. Lack of plot development apart from "the pair is travelling". And there's now that mysterious "something" missing that would make it a good show. For me it feels like something's off, something extremely crucial and important. Barely a few minutes in and my attention instinctively shifts away and that doesn't happen with most shows. I gave this show a 5/10, but the more I watch, the more I want to lower that to maybe a 4. It looks okay, it doesn't offend me as a viewer with much except boredom. Please don't take anything here as an attack, I genuinely wanted to answer why I think the show doesn't land for most people. |

| Some people just want "more" in their anime. I think this minimalist show is pretty good at what it does and the humor hits often personally, which would definitely not be the case for most of the audience on this site. |
| “One of the better things this season” I’m assuming cows can actually fly now if that’s the case. That aside, it’s just completely dull and bland and barely watchable. The humor to put it lightly just doesn’t work in anime form. There isn’t any remotely interesting character or story-wise, either. It’s forgettable at best. Even if it’s intentionally a minimalist approach with fantasy comedy, it only sounded decent on paper. Doesn’t help that the visuals are stiff and underwhelming with barely much movement and production is practically akin to a zombie. |

| When the score is less than 6, it's probably because people found it offensive. Most bland and uninteresting anime fall between 6 and 7. |
| I've dropped this after the 4th eposide. Why? Because I don't think it's funny. It's just Alvin constantly yelling retorts. The score is actually lower than I thought it would be but it's still the worst of the shows I'm watching from this season. |

| Just a little micro view here, 8 of us are watching it and 4 dropped, 3 watching and 1 Plan. That's pretty rough when half of us are dropping this, and we have a very wide range of genres we each like. One of us that dropped it, his number one genre is gag/pun/slapstick style comedy and even he dropped this. For myself I just found it extremely boring, the back and forth between them was not funny, the jokes got very repetitive and the two main cast members healer and warrior are just hard to like. Also believe me I tried to get through this, I HATE DROPPING SHOWS! 1,100 anime completed and I think this is my 30th drop ever....so believe me I tired. Hell I've been able to get through some shit anime before.... Isekai Cheat Magician, Greatest Sage Weak Crest, Wiseman's Pupil, both seasons of standing on a million lives and even Promised Neverland S2 just to name a few. But man I just couldn't get through this. Sorry not for me, 3/10. & Hell even a dark skin elf loli couldn't save this! So peace out and I'll go watch something better to heal my soul.....  |

All the main characters are pretty much douchebags, but people find their misshaps funny. The anime is the equivalent to a teen drama? How in the world are those two even similar? Most boring and least interesting anime in the last decade? Talk about being hyperbolic. |
| I just made a thread about the pacing being slow, but I'll add to the explanation here. You might not want to read below if you believe thinking about the "making of" the jokes will ruin the fun. With that out of the way, here is one of the reasons why the show fails at drawing the audience: the plot for every episode is quite similar.
Considering the above, it can definitely get repetitive and predictable, and there is no sense of direction for the plot. This style of humor is very static (in all senses, since they barely move throughout the episode), and this setup is not particularly that good in first place. This show only thrives if you like the characters and enjoy their dynamics, but if that doesn't happen, I can see why someone would be terribly bored. |

| I think the show was fairly enjoyable, although the type of comedy is certainly niche. Even in Japan the reception seems to have been mixed. I don't think there was an anime quite like this, which relies entirely on the manzai comedy. If you come expecting this to be an isekai, with plenty of fan service and nonstop action, you'll probably be disappointed. On a side note, I wonder if it's even possible to read the extremely long subtitle within 10-15 seconds or so as shown. That would take some serious skills :p |
