If Berserk gets another anime, what studio should animate it?

It's hard to win an argument against smart people, but impossible to win an argument against dumb ones.

Studio Miura, otherwise the fangays would never shut up about the anime not looking as pretty as the manga -_- I mean, no studio out there can do that, it is impossible.

WIT could do it, I don't think Bones can do that. MAPPA not either, they both have less gritty artstyles.
I hope the FBI raids some of the users in this website, and then check their hard drives, plenty of suspicious people.

As much as I love Berserk It Will never have a godly drawing as the manga, but WIT can try it, for me the only anime that ever captures Berserk feels is the 1997.

no studio at this point has the resources to animate an arc of Berserk. Let's say that it is announced to be adapted. They would choose to adapt the Golden age arc for sure. For that to be well paced and not skipping the essentialls they would be placed somewhere in the 40-45 episodes. Assuming that the animation doesn't fucking suck that is a lot of money. Yeah, the respective studio would be very praised. But the majority of studios doesn't have enough people to do this kinda stuff. But if I were to pick one I would choose Madhouse for the amazing pasing.

Any studio studio mentioned in this thread is good enough. I'm more concerned of the director and the main staff tho.

It really doesn’t matter coz Berserk’s probably never gonna get another adaptation. And even if they do, it has to be madhouse. They are masters at making dark-themed anime’s like monster, overlord, perfect blue, hellsing ultimate etc.

Studio Wit should do it... It has similar shows done well... Vinland saga and AoT are prime examples..

I'm a bit baffled by so many people mentioning Mappa right here. Why would you ever want a Studio to make Berserk that requires absolute dedication and top tier quality and have it be MAPPA of all Studios? They are notorious for accepting far too many projects at the same time which results in very lacking quality for a lot of them.

Mappa would only be good if they had a massive budget, no time restraints and no other projects at the same time... which is never gonna be the case.

I think Wit would be the better choice regardind their style and everything

The problem is: There's no way in hell they can handle such a massive project tho. Wit is a small, altough amazing, studio

Now, about MAPPA, they have the resources to pull it off if they get a good schedule, but their style just "too clean" for berserk, so I don't think it would work, or it would be kind of an outlier at least

The best option would be if somehow WIT got a shitton of money, time and people to this project, if that happens we could get a masterpiece adaptation, but they would problably need to break the arcs into multiple because no way in hell they're doing 40-50 episode seasons, and I can't think of any good point in the middle of Golden Age to finish a first season

My first thought was Madhouse, but then I remembered how infamous they are for not making 2nd seasons.

I think I agree. WIT has shown they can capture a gritty, dirty, art style (in a good way) with Attack on Titan. However, Berserk is not just a gritty, dusty, type of manga: it's also very high fantasy at times, and beautiful, in some of the later chapters.

@ImNOTAmOtaku

I don't know much about MAPPA's art styles; or what anime they've made, for that matter (since I rarely look up what studio made what anime). But I agree a clean artstyle for Berserk wouldn't fit.

Berserk would never be adapted into a good series, just deal with it. The 97 anime is the best we will ever get.

Now, if I am delusional enough, I think it has to be between Wit, Madhouse, Bones or the guys that did Drifters. I think Mappa is one of the worst options out there for berserk.

It'd cost a LOT of money to make just one season that's of consistently high quality and each season would be so long. That being said, WIT would most definitely do it justice with ∞ budget and time, just as MAPPA would if they dropped the 13,584 anime they're concurrently working on and focused basically solely on Berserk (also with ∞ budget)

wit: never get a second season
ufotable:their style doesn't fit well
david production would be the better imo they're making the jojo's consistently
ufotable and madhouse are definitely the best when it comes to dark themes but the problem is would they adapt the whole manga? I doubt they do

The studio which animated:- John Cena anime.
"I think I wanted to attack something. Like betraying people or hurting people. And, well, it's not exactly nice, but hurting the readers too... In all honestly, I feel that's what I really wanted to do. For me, as a reader, when I think, "this manga will remain in my heart," it means, for example, it phenomenally hurt me: It's those kinds of experiences I'm after." - Pajime Hisayama (My favourite hurting author).

Just fucking stop with CRAPPA.

Their music work is mostly ASS. They are terrible at using music. The Final Season of AoT clearly shows how much MAPPA lacks in music use (ep3 and 4 of part 2 were fire tho ngl). Also their music in JJK wasn't well used either. MAPPA just can't use music to raise the tension or give scenes more impact.

Their schedules are shit. They have too many projects at the same time. Even right now they probably have the next season/movie of AoT, Hell's Paradise, Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 and god knows what else. Hell's Paradise already doesn't look that great and AoT improved only a little. CSM tbh looks amazing and hopefully so does JJK S2.

Given enough time, WIT is probably the best option. Their art style for one really benefits Berserk, and their direction, music, cinematography are all excellent despite them being a small studio.

Whoever adapts it, it will never be as good as the manga.

Yesterday, you were the defeated.

What have you become today?

The studio doesn't really matter most of the times, what's important is the core staff working on it.
These are just different possibilities of what a (dream) staff would look like, one that would be able to make an adaptation shine on a technical level:

Director: Kazuto Arai/ Tatsuya Yoshihara/ Akai Toshifumi/ Natsume Shingo
AD: Shun Enokido/ Takahito Sakazume/ Miso/ Hironori Tanaka
DoP: Yamashita Shingo/ Tonsho Shinji/ Arahata Kazuya
SB: Yamashita Shingo/ Hakuyu Go/ Andou Masahiro
Script: Seko Hiroshi
Music: Kenji Kawai/ Hideyuki Fukusawa
