| Can we stop with this stupid shit already? Rem killed Subaru because she thought he is an assassin, a cultist, and she has very obvious understandable childhood trauma. Also, she wanted to protect the mansion and village. This is VERY obvious for the rest of S1, if you, you know, watched the show. Her character remains consistent and sincere throughout. And to make it short and sweet - both are best girls. This waifu war is the dumbest one out there. |

| this whole thread lol like wtf guys calm down. Really though, joining in the conversation its obvious that the best character is easily Rem. She shines far more than Emilia in the first season. With that said, just because she's the better character doesn't mean Subaru should be with her. At the end of the day she killed him multiple times and that's not something you easily forget. The problem with waifu wars is people self insert and are incapable of looking at the characters from an objective point of view. Rem is a better character, its undeniable. But Subaru has no reason to want to be with her and while his initial crush for Emilia makes no fucking sense the story is written in a way that he will always be after her. It is what it is. You could argue Rem has done enough to make Subaru go for her but Subaru is his own character with his own decisions, as stupid as some might be, he is not the audiences self insert. |

 In most cases, the MAL Average Scores don't mean anything, here is a question: were the works made before 2000 all shit? Why are they so damn scarce in the Top 50? Think about how MAL is quite literally a filtered amount of the Anime fanbase. Here's a timeline of the Top 15 in which you can check that, almost always, the scores are affected by the freshness, popularity and other factors that have nothing to do with quality. |

Whereas Rem killed a person for a trivial reason, and it was MC no less. I've yet to see any Rem fans actually acknowledge what she did to Subaru instead of insulting Emilia. At least Rem has an actual personality though, and a backstory too. My overall opinion though, is that none of the waifus in this show have any depth, and the only one that intrigues me is Crusch. @tragedydesu I hope you realize that author ships Emilia and literally removed Rem from the series because she was getting too much fan attention. If S2 adapts the same number of LNs as S1, she won't even appear at all this season. |
