God, I hope that means they are going to sub ZokuOwari as soon as those 6 episodes airs and we don't have to wait for 6 months. I'm platinum hyped!

Also, can we appreciate how handsome Kamiya is? And to think he's 43 and looks like he's still in his early 20s...

The "TV version" should be exactly the same as the movie version. Crunchyroll especially should get the "episodes" together in one video as they did with Tsuki, Hana and 3 arcs of Owari. The "episodes" likely indicate how long it will air on Japanese television, with commercials and stuff separating each episode (and likely an indication of how many timeslots they applied for). I suspected this from the beginning, but it's merely a theatrical release for its premiere; it is intended for a TV release like the other seasons and thus will be treated like the other seasons.

Good news for sure. Considering they aired both Nekomonogatari: Kuro and Tsukimonogatari on New Year's Eve, I think I'll guess that it'll be then. Sooner the better. Also I really hope they give us an OP for the TV airing. A Koyomi OP would be preferable.

That is a very plausible theory, that it'll air on New Year's Eve. And are you implying there wasn't an OP during the movie itself?

I saw you asked about the OP for Zoku-Owarimonogatari. I saw the the film in Japanese cinemas yesterday and I'm glad to report that it is sung by Araragi's VA. However, with a twist.... Not sure if I should explain the "twist" xD

Really? I think the best order is a combination of broadcast and novel order. For example, the Kizu trilogy works so much better before Owari S2 imo, but Koyomimonogatari should definitely be before Owari S1 like in the novels.

i'm currently rewatching the series and knowing the events of kizu made many stories much better (e.g. every scene with araragi and shinobu, talking about vampires, hanekawa encountering episode etc).
i'm not a fan of random orders but if i had to delay kizu for whatever reason i'd put it right after koi / before the final season.

Exactly what I did, and it certainly wasn't a bad choice either. Now, to tell the truth though, the reason I did that was because I messed up and missed my chance to watch it between Bake and Nise.
It was probably, In Some Ways, better to watch it this way because every now and then it gives off more of a mystery to some elements of the story, and by the time I got to Kizu it was all that much better to get those "secrets" and unknown story tidbits to finally be revealed. And neither did I experience any unnecessary confusion in any other part of the story either.

Yeah, I mean, although there are details you miss from seeing Kizu last, the build-up is there for the darkest arc of the series. So many references you know that you can't get because it hasn't been revealed yet, and I love how, in this way, many things that were once foreshadowed by Kizumonogatari, are now the plot elements that foreshadow Kizu. Don't get me wrong, I know it wasn't intentional and I know this way has its faults-- I also know of the pros and cons of the novel order, as I read the light novels in that order-- but it also works in a very satisfying way, especially when you relate it with plot points revealed in Shinobu Mail and juxtapose it with Ougi Dark.

Nah, there is little benefit to watching it this way. Kizu and Neko Black don't really mesh at all, in terms of pacing, structure and themes. And instead of out of order, it would make the first season feel backward or unnecessarily flipped. I'd say the only two acceptable places to watch it are after Bake (novel order) or after Owari S1 (broadcast). The novel order because of how the narrative was intended to be structured. Firmly establishing Araragi's relationship with Hitagi, we are supposed to juxtapose it with his past with Shinobu and the mental state he was in before he made his first friend in Hanekawa. Nise was based on the idea of juxtaposing the story of Araragi forming his first deep relationships, with the story of him walking around and dicking off with all of his friends before being kidnapped by his girlfriend. Neko Black is supposed to juxtapose Nise's themes of family with Tsubasa's family and how poorly they treat her. Neko Black and Kizu work off of being juxtaposed with the lighter parts of the story, and aren't meant to be shown back to back, in fact, it would be too jarring to do so.

Kizu also works before Owari S2 for that reason, also, in addition to the reasons stated above, in my other response.

The only other (kinda) acceptable order is watching Kizu first... but Kizu works 100x better when you are familiar with the characters, setting and have at least an ample amount of foreshadowing to Shinobu's character. In the paraphrased words of the great Kamimashita-- it ruins the fun and robs the reader of the anticipation.

Oh well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Because it's not a film in reality its 6 episodes played in theaters. Also being 6 episodes made them split up the box. And finally its all about the money.

Now that I think about it, this could be an experiment to see if demand for the BD’s increases if that’s the only way to see it for a time, so it’s definitely possible that we will have to wait until April or later. If it was planned for February you would think they would have announced it already.
