Gotta say, this show really knows how to give its characters drip, because damn, they somehow made Riyou look fine for once, bravo.

New arc means new stuff will get explained in due time, sure, but seriously, how was the little girl in the room with everyone when we literally saw her run down the alley lol. Thought we’d dwell more on her grief, but I do like the quick, fireworks-style approach.

Also, pretty obvious foreshadowing that Rudo inherited his gloves lol.

RYO FEET AND THIGHS FOR FREE HELLO??? This was such an interesting, some foreshadowing about Rudo’s gloves and injuries.. I think there’s way more to it than just his parents being abusive, those wounds may be the key to changing the world and it feels like Ryo knows something else is up as well.

I didn’t expect to end a Gachiakuta episode in tears, but that ending did it for me. We didn’t really know Gobb, but just seeing how much he meant to Remlin and Grafitti town told me everything I needed to know. The flashbacks to Rudo and Rugto with that soundtrack just made me lose it, very beautiful. I figured Rudo would see himself in Remlin. This was sweet.

The cleaner orgaization ticks every box of resistance's stereotype, I'm not complaining though. It has diversed members who've all kinds of tattoo and hairstyle and fashion and body modification and sexual orientation and engaging in resistance-like activity like metal music and graffiti.

I'm pretty sure the author insert herself into a mask-maker character who go crazy before a deadline.

We're entering a new town. It's such a nice town that I want to visit or even live in, but I'm afraid I might get obstructed by an invisible barrier, I'm not confident enough in my goodness, I always have evil thought all the time.

Even though Gob died a peaceful death (compare to this anime's standard), I'm still sad and don't want this to happen.

I assume the cleaners want Rudo to get a tattoo from Gob since Gob can cast a spell on whatever he draw, including a tattoo.

Remlin was chosen to be the next artist in charge, she has some serious skill on painting graffiti, but Rudo would be her first tattoo painting client.

I expect Rudo to take off his clothes soon, not just his gloves, but seriously I've to look (and lick) at Enjin's full body tattoo before I die.

More worldbuilding and lore. Canvas city looks cool and its "Spellcaster" legacy adds more story to it.

Gob's death and Remlin's celebration of his life and legacy is sure to affect Rudo deeply.

This episode build up a lot of things and setting up future stuff but i didnt expect to get emotional in the last part.
WHERE IS MY OWN BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN BED ???

Rudo's wounds could have bigger implications depending who his parents end up being and what they were involved and I liked the conversation between him and Riyo.

Canvas Town is quite interesting having this city of freedom and expression through art in this garbage world.
Gob having so little screen time but he feels great a person that follows what they want with everything they got even if they end up dying because of it being too reckless.

If vital instruments can be passed down also makes Rudo's gloves more interesting.

Remlin stole the episode for me that moment ENOUGH DARK STUFF and went paint mode super sayian got me a bit emotional and the soundtrack was great and seeing everyone being influenced by it was awesome especially Rudo.

Top 20 best selling manga of August 2025 info is out. Gachiakuta fails to make it in to the Top 20 despite the anime currently airing, unlike Tougen Anki which made it in to the Top 20.: https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePunchMan/comments/1n9l0qg/one_punch_man_was_the_5th_best_selling_manga_of/

Japan doesn't care about Gachiakuta. Failed to make it in to the Top 20 in the previous month too. Gachiakuta is just not popular with the Japanese. In case any one gets the wrong idea, I like Gachiakuta and I'm not happy that the manga isn't exactly selling well.

OT: R.I.P. Gob, I guess? We never heard him talk and he was only in 1 episode before this before dying.

I liked a lot the tone of the episode from when Riyou visited Rudo but it wasn't like the usual scene or him getting all flustered with a nose bleed, etc. then mourning the death but also having that message that the best way to honoring the people we have lost is moving forward and enjoying life so they can also rest in piece

@wildhood How about you talk about manga sales over in the manga discussions and talk about the anime here instead of saying that discussion of the anime is "OT". Kinda disrespectful. Also, gotta love saying that something not being in the top 20 manga sold means that Japan doesn't care for it, totally, sure, definitely, that's why it's still being made and the anime is done by bones and is a full 2 cours. Sure.

HOLY SMOKES!

This episode was a delight. I went in expecting some sort of funny shenanigans or a training arc to continue from last episode. But I ended up with a great character introduction, followed by I would assume a
I bet big money that that is actually what happened. Regarding the former though, the new character I assumed would be shy, reconciled, and with drawn is somehow one of the most charming characters to be introduced.

I have been insanely hyped with this show's episodic release, and each episode feels as though the gaps between the world being revealed, to showing the amazing cast of characters, is helping fill up this show's world feel alive. EVEN though, in the initial part of the episode it was said, this place is trash. Helping with setting the expectation to be a bunch of scavenge survivors, MAD MAX style story telling with our main character trying to get back to his "civilized" society to teach them a lesson for dropping him into the pit.
And with that low ass exceptions, this show ends up revealing insane amounts of lore and characters that honestly, feel alive. Yeah, ok the Mad Max element is still at play here. And most anime shows with this theme, tend to lean towards ALL characters acting like the mad max characters... most of the anime shows. Rather than subvert exceptions other shows lean into it, while this tends to pay off, the shows end up mediocre. THIS SHOW not only leans into some aspects of it, BUT ONLY SUBVERTS it using the "magical system" and leaning more into the Shonen aspect. Honestly, I dont know why all this donned on me at episode 9 of things.

Regardless, the new character looks cool, cant wait for them to reveal the truth about the
and of course the continuation of Rudis revenge saga

@Masshiroi Even the fandom page doesn't know the gender of Remlin. I think there were even rumors of Remlin being nonbinary.

P.S. In volume 11, the character introduction of Remlin has been written gender-neutral. So it might be true that Remlin is nonbinary.

Each episode of this anime always gives me satisfaction when watching.
I find this anime unique, with a different concept, and of course, refreshing.

This episode about the Giver who has the power of the canvas is also very unique. Canvas Town itself is very fascinating.

Opening minutes of the episode and Riyo’s fine ass is chilling in Rudo’s bed? Now this is epic lol. But really tho this bit was more serious, Rudo was surprised at first but Riyo ended up dropping some wisdom regarding parents giving us both good and bad things, which is an interesting statement, I think that could even go for good parents, it’s a real shame what happened to Rudo’s hands tho. But the main point of this episode was heading on over to the Canvas Town, a really cool idea for a location which is all about freedom of expression and artistry, although the way that barrier works is a bit vague, like what happens if you go in with no bad intentions but decide to do something bad afterward? I’m probably thinking about it too hard lol, but those two fellas trying to get in was a funny bit.

RIP Gob tho, we only saw him once but he sounded like a good man, everything was pretty sad right up until the new character Remlin decided to celebrate the man’s life the right way, and I really liked that, better to take death that way than letting the sadness consume you, I’m sure this was cathartic for Rudo too. And Remlin is supposed to be a gender ambiguous character huh, makes sense, the character design had me going back and forth lol.

This series really went and created a Grimdark setting only to then populate it almost entirely by characters that spit in the face of Grimdark. I'm kind of going back-and-forth on whether or not I think it really WORKS - sometimes it feels a bit too disjointed the way it carried the tone of the show - but the fact that it's very clearly an intentional dichotomy has me wanting to lean into it and go with the flow.
