should a studio that's done the same thing for 25+ years drop the show because they're doing the same thing that's still more successful than pretty much any other anime?
also someone else said it but the filler percentage in one piece is ~9%
the filler percentage I'm naruto and shippuden is 41% and bleach is 44% one piece pretty much has no filler for its runtime

One piece anime was always slow paced. Except in the very early arcs.
One piece filler adds a lot of scenes in fights. The fights in the manga for each Strawhat non Luffy are over in 2 shots. So you did be cutting Zoro x Seraph Mihawk fights down too.

Yeah, the quality is through the roof! I still haven’t watched Wano, which i hear is good, but Egghead is top tier for sure! Even though it’s still only adapting like a chapter per episode at a time, it is paced way better, and is consistently entertaining, unlike something like Dressrosa.

Even if you say yes, it wont happen. They wont stop producing THE most lucrative anime/manga they have, and much less for a practice they have been doing for decades.

I also think the majority of people prefer to watch the end of one piece in their lifetime. If we stopped and drop the anime as "seasons" then the anime would end in 2040.

The remake is gonna come out in maybe next 5 years or more and it's gonna take another 10 to be even remotely close to the current arcs. In other words, the current One Piece ain't gonna end any time soon with this pacing and let's not talk about the remake at this point. I'm not sure I'll even see the end of it to begin with.

Filler doesn't just mean filler episodes. Filler can just be a general term for scenes that are drawn out just to pad run time which One Piece is pretty notorious for. Things like extensive flashbacks, recaps and repeated scenes, slow-motion sequences, and long reaction shots can all be considered "filler". It's stuff like this that are the reason One Pace exists. Their goal is to rid the series of scenes like this rather then remove any actual filler episodes.

I just want them to be better to Sanji like Oda draw him.
I like Filler, and when I remember correctly, the one Filler Arc was marked by Oda as Canon afterwards (the one where they were at the marine after skypedia). Correct me if I am wrong.
So yes, Toei should do it, but with higher quality in storytelling.

Toei is never going to stop making One Piece and the anime can’t be seasonal cause it has a lot of other media riding on it. Merchandise, games Bounty Rush or Treasure Cruise and many other things release products based on what’s current in the anime, and this makes so much money that there really is no way for it to stop. Toei does a fantastic job for the hand they were given.

I think you have only watched one piece anime because if you think this is good adaptation then you are blind because toei one piece adaptation has so big flaws like worst SFX and Worst pacing that an anime can have and inconsistency in animation so this is worst adaptation of a very good manga

Its about the slow pacing. The filler that every episode has. The filler is embedded in each episode. You can't skip it so it is worse than naruto or bleach where you can actually skip the fillers. Even if it is 60% filler, people can just skip it. But only if it is seperate episodes instead of every episode having the filler. It is fine for people who are caught up and have read the manga. They just want to see their favourite scenes animated. But it is just difficult for people who want to start watching it. You can tell new watchers to skip naruto fillers but new one piece watchers need to watch something like one pace which is literally a fan edit.

If you mean the G8 filler arc, then no, it's not canon.

Not even anime canon (anime canon = animated episodes, which Oda couldn't feature in the manga for various reasons but are still considered canon.)

toei has so many choices to make anime better but they will never do that because majority of one piece anime audience don't really care about pacing or SFX and they are making easy money now so they are never going to fix the anime until more than 50% of audience not telling them to fix

They should have stopped years ago, but it's not practical for them to stop now imho. Even with the shitty pacing, people still tune in to watch. In a perfect world they would only adapt a few episodes per year with better pacing and animation, then go on a hiatus for a few months, but alas. Also I think people are really overestimating the remake series that we barely even know anything about.

Also I had to laugh at that "One Piece is only 9% filler" crap. If you count up all the filler content including extended scenes from practically every episode, it's a hell of a lot more than just 9%.

do people forget this is an adaptation of the manga, not a 1:1. I'm fine with them adding or removing content as Long as it doesn't impede on the Canon lore or retcon odas vision for what the arc is supposed to be like. the only example that really pissed me off was when prometheus dove into the ocean for big mom in the anime but caught her in the air in the manga. ultimately it didn't matter either way but that was just egregious and a waste or time and animation talent. toei for the most part, at least recently, is very good at making the anime feel like the manga in fluid motion

there is no point talking about the remake as that is so far away that most people will not be invested in one piece anymore in the same sense especially after the manga is over which is when the fanbase goes away by a large amount as people move on (same thing happened with naruto and bleach, and even dragon ball, and these are the biggest anime ever together with one piece), and moreover nobody from current toei will be alive to see it reaching anywhere near where the current anime is, if anything the live action is the only one that is kinda relevant to new audience

regarding the current anime, they have no other choice based on what happened, it is extremely long because it is still using the outdated neverending weekly formula and on top of that it is using it on the longest running mainstream manga ever, in the past it had longer filler arcs but now instead it made the episodes being painfully slow paced and have random recaps every now and then, and the filler arcs are only 3-4 episodes inbetween arcs usually in promotion for the movies, their only solution is to stop completely after egghead and make it seasonal for the remaining arcs which i doubt that will happen

@kookool17 One Piece had 70 filler episodes by episode 429 (just filler not even counting the other types). Currently it has 94 filler episodes, 43 semifiller, 21 anime canon episodes, and I'm not even considering the "manga canon" episodes that got longer because they are basically adapting one chapter per episode. So from all current 1142 episodes, 8% is filler, 3,7% is semifiller and 1,8% is anime canon.
