| if we look at numbers on mal then close to 500 but if we count actual TV animes and exclude movies/OVA/specials/music videos then maybe 350 something idk. but if we count individual franchises and not count each season of an anime as individual then far less. 250 or 300 sth ig. |

| I actually have no fucking idea, I've been watching anime for over 25 years but only started keeping track 3 years ago and still discover series (like Amanchu! which I streamed simulcast, both seasons) that I never had listed. Most everything during 2006-2016 I've lost track of apart from favorites. |

College has a lot of free time and then job searching has even more. But some series will have 10+ entries just from specials and stuff so it's not that crazy.

| I've been watching anime for almost 30 years but it's been off and on...I've been watching it more often probably in the past 10 years or so. If you count every special, ova, movie, tv series it's over 1,000 but only 674 are tv series and that is also counting mutiple entries from the same series. I also have a good chunk on hold anime tv series that I have seen but not completed yet like 270 something...trying to slowly make my way through them. |

| I'm on 200 moreorless according to MAL, but I've only recorded what I've watched in the past year (where I've had a lot of free time to be fair). I used to watch a lot less but, have watched anime on and off since the early 90's, so I think it's fair to assume that the real number of titles probably approaches double what I've recorded so far. |

| Should of included a <100, would of been nice to see, and timeline of watching is hard to figure when you stop and come back, and can’t be bothered to compartmentalize the history of one’s life. Watch time is probably a better metric. |

I started watching anime in the early nineties, but I started counting them in last 3 years. I know I have finished 700 anime and maybe more, but I don’t know how many anime I watched in total🙈 Actually, I like to rewatch anime that I like more than starting watching a new anime😆 in fact, I have repeated watching Rurouni Kenshin (90s),One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Detective Conan, Black Clover and many more anime more than once. So, I might have watched more anime series if did not repeat them over time.

@koki22 I think the time before 2010 was a great era to watch anime. No social media, nothing to distract me. I also watched Dragon ball z and Doraemon when I was 9 years old. My friends enjoyed watching them too. Back then, we didn’t even know they were called anime. I started watching anime again in 2021.

How could you put 10k s as an option when the topper of completed anime on MAL has 8k+
| @Sahil_Agarwal There are multiple legit users on MAL who have completed 10,000 (not a lot, and probably not the people who voted in the poll, but they exist). It's a feat for sure, but when you realize how many shorts are in the database, it's more doable than you'd think. |

| The jump from 5,000 to 10,000 is quite steep, lol, but I'm currently at 8,000+. I do try to say "8,000 entries on MAL" and not "8,000 anime", because this means different things to different people (even with just series, do you combine multiple seasons as one show?). It's hard to estimate how many if you're excluding short stuff, but significantly less, as evidenced by my days watched. |
