First episode got leaked. It's back! And... it actually looks pretty decent now. Not that it didn’t already look decent before, but the art direction has definitely changed during the little three-month break we had. It still doesn’t look the best, but we’ll take it! I honestly didn’t really care how good or bad the last cour looked, considering not much crazy stuff happened in it. But from here on is where I started to really enjoy the series, so I’d prefer they prioritize this cour even if it meant sacrificing the last one… or at least, that’s what I’d hope. Obviously, not much happened in the first half, mostly just setup and introductions to the characters we'll be seeing a lot of this cour... and the old man? Keep an eye on him, wink. But the second half of the episode is where things get real, with our first "fight" of the cour. One of the prisoners out for Sakamoto, the one we saw at the end of last cour, shows up to beat the FUCK out of Shin and Lu. For a second, it was looking scary, but we know that if you even try to threaten Sakamoto... Shin will prevail and LOCK. THE. FUCK. IN. And lock the fuck in he did, because my boy got up, started going toe-to-toe with the dude, and beat the SHIT out of him right back. Exciting start for sure, and while that fight looked pretty much like what we’ve come to expect from the show by now, I just hope and pray they prioritize the other big fights more... That’s all I ask of you TMS. P.S. Araki on the OP fucking KILLED it. Not his best work, but a BIG step up from last cour's OP, that's for sure. |

Biggest surprise for me this episode was how AMAZING the Cour 2 Opening looks holy cow!!! my jaw was straight up on the FLOOR with some of those cuts!!! song was pretty good too :D The episode itself was good! nothing too amazing, pretty much on par with Cour 1's quality albeit with a couple visual upgrades. The compositing is def looking cleaner. Only complaints visually still are how bad the backgrounds look at times and how flatly some scenes are directed (the Nagumo Sakamoto talking scene having both of these issues :P). Other than that, pretty decent premiere! As for the story, I'll be the first to admit that the serial killers are definitely the most boring Sakadays villains out there (Apart from well... Apart lol), so I'm personally just waiting till they're over and done with so that we can get to some REALLY exciting stuff later on in the season. The gags are on point with Lu and Shin as always, they're the best duo <3 Looking forward to some fun stuff this season in the weeks ahead!! ...well after longer than usual since this episode somehow leaked SUPER early LOL |

Damn that opening goes crazy thoooo, I do see some animation changes but they aren't enough to completly differ it from the first part, after all this is a second part and not a second season so the differences won't be major, hopefully the animation does get better |

I’m not excited for the second season at all! You remember—I used to watch the first season weekly, but when I reached episode 9, I just stopped… there was no motivation to continue… ugh… I’ll try to give it a chance… I’ll watch episodes 9 to 11 of season one, then I’ll watch this new episode. I heard the second episode already aired in Japan! I’ll watch it too as soon as I get the chance. To all Sakamoto fans—sorry, but I really don’t like this series at all. Update: (My opinion about the episode) I like that they jumped straight into the plot! But I didn’t like how Shin suddenly unlocked some weird new power. I really enjoyed both the opening and ending! Now let’s go see episode 2 and figure out what’s going on. |

I know I am in the minority, but someone has to represent the other side of the argument. I prefer how the first season looked over the second. The textured shading especially I consider the soul of this series' visual identity, and now that they've removed it the show ends up looking more average. If you allow me to put on my conspiracy hat for a second, I suspect that they decided to split the season only after the flood of criticism about the show's visuals, so that they can have more time to change the second half and bring it closer to what the vocal majority wanted. I wholeheartedly disagree with that decision as they have just thrown away one of the reasons that made the series spacial. Standing out from the norm should be celebrated, not made taboo. Average should not be the aim, uniqueness is what brings color to the world. And standing by your creative decision is part of that. |

@gorkthe134th I couldn't agree more. I think that the whole "grungey" aesthetic was part of what made the first half more visually distinct and interesting than other anime with its level of production. And it being outright removed just feels like a straight up downgrade in my opinion. And it's kinda upsetting that so many viewers genuinely wanted for the show's visual identity to be more or less stripped away, especially since it clearly didn't have that much else to go off on visually. Almost like they intentionally preferred for the show's few redeeming features (in terms of visuals) to be null, so that nothing would get in the way of them calling the anime an ugly abomination, like they've been doing since the first teaser. (either that, or they believe that the only way an anime is allowed to be visually appealing is through hand drawn sakuga, and doing so through stuff like compositing is lazy blasphemous cheating) Well, at least it doesn't appear that the creators have COMPLETELY discarded their stylistic vision, given that the smeared (or blurred) shading is still somewhat present in a MUCH SMALLER amount, but it's a shame that the grungey textures are now completely absent outside of dramatic freeze frames. Even though everything else is still the same and the animation is still good by its own standards, it now feels a lot more 'flat' or 'generic' in comparison to last cour, to the point of being somewhat distracting. But everyone else I tried approaching on this just kept saying that the compositing was abominable and that it made everything look unimaginably ugly. |

Well, can't believe a whole 3 months have passed already, and Sakamoto Days is back! Honestly, they wasted no time with recaps, which honestly was for the better, I think we all remember how season 1 ended, and they jumped right at it, with the first Death Row Inmate against Lu and Shin, and things were getting ugly, until Shin developed a new skill at the end. I'm glad they are addressing how Shin's performance last arc was a bit disappointing, considering he used to work with Sakamoto at the end of the way (and how much they relied on him). Kinda funny how Lu is at a higher rank than Shin, just because of her drunk mode. Also, Nagumo being a rank S, while Sakamoto was a rank B was not easy for him to digest. We are getting to see the order in action this season, which is exciting! Also, the new opening is certainly a vibe, it's good! Vaundy's opening for the 1st part was really good (it's still one of my favorites of the year), but I feel like this opening does also a great job, and I believe it will grow on me with time too! The animation for the opening this time is so much better though. Like, it doesn't even seem it comes from the same studio as the 1st part (where literal parts of the opening had bad CGI). Even the artstyle for the opening is interesting, and fits the vibe of the song. I'm a fan of this new opening. The ending was ok, better than the last one for sure, but not too memorable, but maybe it will grow in me. Also, is it me, or the animation for this episode was better than the usual for Part 1? Anyways, I feel like Sakamoto Days is going with a good start, for what the series is! |

OH MY GOD WE ARE BACK AT IT WITH SAKAMOTO DAYS! It was only a few months since I binged the first part of the season, and we’re starting off strong here. It seems the serial killers that Slur released have a hitlist, and it seems that Taro Sakamoto is ranked B+, with Yoichi Nagumo being ranked S, Shishiba being ranked A, Lu Xiaotang being ranked C, and Shin Asakura being ranked D. Honestly that’s wild to me that Shin is lower, because it’s clear that he’s stronger than her (when she’s sober, when she’s drunk, that’s debatable). I was not expecting to see the action start off already, and I didn’t know that Heisuke Mashimo and Taro Sakamoto have been training together, which explains the bullet holes, which then explains Shin and Lu shopping around. I also didn’t expect Shin to have such a soft side with puppies, but that was short lived when Saw came in and alerted all the animals in the store. This dude is clearly a psycho and all he cares about is ripping joy from others by killing. Then we here Taro talk about how Shin has potential, but he’s never had to protect something dear to him before. Given how much anime I’ve seen, I already knew that this meant Shin was gonna have an awakening of some sort, and boy was I right. What I didn’t expect is that Shin’s psychic powers are now evolved to the point where HE CAN STRAIGHT UP SEE SOMEBODY’S FUTURE MOVEMENTS! I’m sure down the line, somebody will be able to hide them because otherwise the only other counter would be somebody who moves way faster than Shin. Saw really pushed it too far when he talked about taking everything from Taro, so Shin snapped and now he’s going OFF! LET’S GET IT! It was funny how Taro told Heisuke that he’s different, so I wonder if Heisuke will have a unique awakening of his own in the future. AND THERE’S ANOTHER EPISODE I CAN WATCH RIGHT NOW, SO LET’S GET IT! |

That was a surprisingly badass start. It's cool to see Shin get a sort of power up but honestly reading the future isn't that much different from reading their minds. Now he can get upgraded from D rank!
@G_Spark233 Yes he is. He's straight up reading their movements. It's like Sir Nighteye's Foresight, or Rudeus Greyrat's eye that has foresight. Before he was just reading their verbal thoughts and in this case, the only thing on Saw's mind was "KILL", so now he's seeing what Saw is gonna do next. |

It’s on a Monday now, but the fat man, his mind reading side kick and the drunk Chinese girl are back! Oh yeah, and also the MLG trick shotter lol, can’t forget him. I see some folks saying this looks a bit different than the first part but it looked about the same to me, I’d probably have to pull up an older episode to compare, but even so, I was quite pleased with this first episode, they wasted no time getting us back in the action, also no one let Osaragi drive ever again lol. And wow these Death Row fellas are wacky af, I still can’t get over that one of them is named “Dump” lol, but despite that, they are deadly enough to back up their title, that one poor dude got straight up diced like from the movie “Cube”. And the first one of these bastards the gang had to take on was Saw, he was pretty handy with that axe and nearly did Shin and Lu in, but this is where Shin evolved from simply being able to read minds, to reading the future itself, that’s pretty insane but this is definitely gonna help Shin in combat a lot, which is something he’s gonna need against the Death Row inmates. Also, was that Highway Star shirt Sakamoto was wearing a Deep Purple reference? Epic if so. And that was a very strong OP and ED, I think the originals still win for me but these are right up there with them, and it’s nice hearing Kroi again since the last time I heard them which would have been “Under Ninja” in Fall 2023, and I’ve never heard of go!go!vanillas before but their song is very chill, I like it a lot. |

the new opening is so good, that op director should've directed the whole show. the ending is great too, both upgraded from the previous ones. takamura the GOAT has made his anime debut, really liked the whole van scene. i like the pacing a lot. the animation seems better compared to the previous cour but we still get those still frames at times. like when shin stopped saw which was hype, but right after. just the fact that this is sakadays makes me glad to have it back though. |

@UwUKingPikachu Reminds me of a distate for pet stores that rarely comes up, but is still a problem that is rarely addressed. Petsmart and the like supposedly can be awful and these spaces we see are basically only a bit more than the kennels at an average animal shelter. If they're just expected to hang out there day and night, that's as bad as solitary confinement for a person with the barest of human interactions through a freaking glass window |

@LaczPro19 The fact that there are what looks like almost realistic pictures of the cats and dogs on the fronts of the containers is adorable, even if the environment barely seems like it's ideal for the animals to get proper enrichment, etc |

@gorkthe134th standing by a creative decision when a lot of fans express how bad it looks in Action scenes is one way to lose a lot of viewers
@SoulReaper85 That's true. Which is why I admire people that have the courage to sacrifice those people, in order to create something they find interesting. Instead of making [something] that you hope many people will like, it's sometimes - Mark Brown (Game Maker's Toolkit)better to create [something] that you know a few people will love. |

@Koolyaroo It was funny seeing Apart go out of his way to buy the volume to complete the set.

Nice to have this back, don't notice any real difference in the animation or anything else its just picking straight back up which is good. Never really found these characters too interesting or the plot but its a fun watch opening songs great though |

Those death row people couldn't have had a scarier introduction, the second one would have been too graphic to show especially. Poor animal store. i was amused by Taro using part of the opening credits, the "beheaded" van and some almost meta commentary about mangas. |

Part 2 animation is actually change! I'm pretty sure it's getting better. Nice first episode of part 2! The katana old man is making his first appearance. He is sleeping and haven't talk yet, but wow... he's badass indeed. Shishiba actually warning Osaragi is cute, they both look like a real couple~~ Wonder if they actually is. Crushing human into a mini meat ball scene just like that? or is it censored... Shin got power up and now can see the future~~ Hurray~ Hope he stay Over power~~ OP visual is great~ ED is not bad~~~ |

Damn, animation has clearly improved a lot. But it still lacks movement in fighting scenes. |

The order has been dispatched and is already moving toward its targets, the row inmates. However, Saw has already reached both Shin and Shaotang, pushing them to their limits. And in that moment, Shin awakens his Ultra Instinct/Emperor Eye mode? Super exciting! |

@TheColonel76 I feel like Punk would've worked better for her, since she punctures people, but Dump in Japanese might have a similar meaning, I forget
@holdingnothing Yeah I imagine it does sound cooler to a Japanese viewer, doesn’t make it less funny to me tho lol. |
