So this was the fight that we would have got for the Hero tournament between Bowa and Queen if X wasn't there..they went all out with the animation.❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Holy shhhhhhi this episode was on par with Solo Leveling maybe even better pulling off all the shackles. Did they just dump their entire budget on this episode or what? 10/10 episode just because I get to see more Cyan chan alone.

Quick question on a bit of the conflict, (I might have missed something or I’m just being stupid). In the episode Boa listens to the news and it states that from apparent insider information Queen tried to use Lucky Cyan to give her the edge on Boa but how would anyone believe this as Queen lost to X so she couldn’t have been using Lucky Cyan unless they are stating that she tried to use Lucky Cyans power on Boa alone rather than the whole tournament which in turn would have made her fail as she never got to fight Boa.

It is insane how powerful trust can make someone. Like kicked through multiple shipping containers and get back up powerful. Anyway this episode was a good show case of Queens powers, the fight was pretty awesome and well choreographed, I didn't have any trouble following along.

Queen lost to X in the 18th HAC tournament (which took place in Year 36 AC)
Queen made a comeback in Year 38 AC,(Probably a time skip to 1 day before)
the 19Th HAC tournament took place where Queen could not fight due to getting injured by fighting Bowa

@alfazeroneko93 right now with Queen arc, fear is still a new entity so many people probably don't even know to utilise it yet

And as for Villain group who utilise Fear is already present in the current timeline being known as "Spotlight Organisation"
(It was due to spotlight organition Enlighter turned into God Eye)

@ReDxLoli In an episode where they delivered that insane fight (animation and lenght-wise), they should get a pass on things that were on screen for like 2 seconds.

When people talk about "Absolute Cinema", it´s stuff like this that they´re talking about.
Absolutely fantastic animation and not only that, the lenght of the fight. Most well animated fights in anime are usually 2-3 minutes long, this one was at least 9 minutes.
Just a fantastic episode from a so far great show.

I am confused. This episode was rather subpar (actually, I think it was bad but I do not want to be overly critical). Yet people are calling it peak cinema? What was so peak? - the fact that we got 4-minute-long repetition of scenes we've already seen an episode or two prior? and then 8-minute-long fight? Not to mention that Bowa as a villain was very disappointing - she was made into just a dumb pathetic woman archetype who is jealous of the other woman, hence only fights and blames this other woman. Whereas she could have been much more interesting.
Even compared to Old E-soul vs New E-soul narrative, we barely got to know anything about the old E-soul but we knew he had his own personal boundaries and he acted in accordance to them and once he didn't that was his downfall, which I think made him pretty interesting and he wasn't even a villain... But Bowa got introduced as a proud woman character who could inspire other women to become heroes. She could have followed in that direction, keeping her pride and confidence while posing as a healthy competition to Queen. Instead she got discarded as the most pathetic envy-driven self-pittying character no one gives a fvck about (possibly to enforce the 'darkness consuming people' narrative). I mean, she was clearly written to be discarded so why waste time on a character when they could write her as just a stereotype, right?
The good thing about this episode (aside from the animation which has been consistently good) was that Queen grew up a bit from being an individualistic person to someone who is open to a friendship with Cyan. They only showed that in like 1 minute of screen time though, so it felt rather rushed, thus didn't have such a strong impact (again, wasted potential).

Somehow, I feel that because the series started strong we are now hyping it solely for what didn't drop in quality - the animation. I would much rather the animation was lower quality but I got some actual substance (like in the first two arcs).

And yes, I do expect people disagreeing with me. I realise I am being very critical. You can for sure enjoy this episode. I just personally wanted to outline why I don't feel good about it in the sea of comments heavily prising it.

@natus_ka fully agree man, the episode overall felt way less impactful and meaningful compared to the first arcs and it definitely felt rushed. But considering the hero schedule this makes sense, they literally don't have enough screentime to give all the heroes the attention they deserve, especially if they reuse scenes to try and fit the puzzle together.

End of Queen's arc. definitely top-tier animation, ultra master level, but this arc really should’ve had 3 episodes, 'cause everything felt super rushed and too quick for that rivalry to make any real sense. There was no depth behind it, and the cause being just jealousy? Meh. Since her arc only got 2 episodes, I’d say it’s the weakest one overall.

BUT, when it comes to action? She absolutely blew the last 3 heroes out of the water. Queen vs Bowa was straight-up epic from start to finish.

Holy fuck, I guess we know where the animation budget from the last four episodes went. But for the fact we know Queen is still alive at Commission +41, that was a legitimately scary fight that either one could have won. Fear is a force to be reckoned with, especially when harnessed by someone with experience like Bowa.

After a flashy defeat, the depressed Queen locked herself in the room until she started hearing cheerful Cyan songs. Later, her father revealed all details about the plane crash. That's why Queen told Cyan all she learned as a token of gratitude. In the meantime, Bowa completely succumbs to the "dark side" blaming Cyan for her bad luck. Also, she believes Queen's dad is responsible for some sort of conspiracy to cover the insidious nature behind the plane crash.
One night before the next big tournament, Queen gets ambushed by Bowa, quickly escalating to a violent skirmish. Full battle executed in 2d format, which is a stylistic detour from what the show offered in 1st several episodes. The fight presents a fast-paced sequence of characters trading explosive attacks and cool signature moves(including a power bomb). Intensity reaches a peak before characters take their best shots. Queen comes out victorious, but is heavily injured to participate in the tournament. Fortunately, Cyan came as soon as possible to cheer her up.
A year later, the recovered girls went on a night ride that was interrupted by a big, mysterious creature. Speaking of another wild cliffhanger! Loli (or Lori?) 2-part intro starting next week!

Ending Queen's arc with such a uplifting note was satisfactory. She finally has friends and rekindled motivation to achieve her goals.

Bowa is such a great character, she reached the highs with her seer hardwork. The misinformed conflict between hardwork vs silver spoon was intense and personal.

In overall a great episode.

That fight between Queen and Bowa was INSANE Sakuga. They really went all out (both the ladies, and the animators). I loved it.

Sure there was emotional stuff after but this kind of hype action is what fans are going to remember from this arc.

@Paulternative Isn't TBATE completely Non Japanese? Heck it's originally an English WN, so it isn't even Korean (tho the writer is Korean, he wrote in English, with American Citizenship). But it has more viewership just cuz it's like an insanely popular web novel. Like just below the likes of Solo Levelling, and with proper adaptation it would have been one of the highest rated too. Compared to that, TBH X is obviously an anime original and would require a lot of time to garner popularity. But it is doing insanely well rn

well, it certainly was a good looking episode. the fight really has something of ufotable's fate. but i didn't like it.
may be kind of an unpopular opinion but more than half of the episode kinda looks like a special effects demo reel to me and for the first time during this i don't even recall the music, the dialogue, nothing. just lights and clashes of blades and containers falling. but i guess we needed an animation flex during the series.
i don't really know why, but i don't like queen. she doesn't have anything specially bad about her, but... i guess i just find her boring as hell.
boa is kind of a depressing character and i don't mean that as an insult to the writing, but she's a product of this world and the ttust value and well, i guess, just like the world we live in, nothing is fair. and the fault is not of the people directly involved in the conflicts.
to be honest i wanted to see more of everything other than this fight.

not that excited to meet a character named loli either. WHY CAN'T WE CALL YOUNG GIRLS ANY OTHER NAME, CHINA?????
