Everybody Who Still Hates On This Anime After This Episode Can Just Go Fuck Themselves, Damn "Tourists", This Episode Was Beautiful...From Start To Finish
@Rayane-47 Reiji haters are weird asf. Like they never appreciate when he writes something that's actually good. They keep letting their hate for RAG stop them from enjoying this anime. For the record, haven't seen RAG. Just going by what I've noticed this past few weeks.

I was kind of surprised that after all that they still had minami lose, but then i remembered that it's the same author as rental girlfriend. So I'm no longer surprised, the author is just garbage in general
@benren it made sense she lost consider her injury in the leg. she even felt the pain from the injury during the last part of the game this episode

It was the best episode of the series this far! Finally they get beyond the plot of "Every sisters having romantic feelings the younger brother" and would emphasize in the character development.

@Rayane-47 Fr. I bet if he was the author of Frieren or FMAB people would also call it trash. Good thing he's making his money and his works keep getting masterful adaptations. The haters can keep crying for all he cares.

I’ve been listening to the OP all day everyday the past week ๐Ÿคฃ so good

3:00 freaking Minami man ๐Ÿคฃ

5:30 oh dear ๐Ÿซข๐Ÿ˜ข poor Minami, knew she was faking

12:50 Minami clinging to Arata on the bike ๐Ÿคญ

17:40 aw, Minami lost still ๐Ÿ™

21:07 Arata hugged Minami! ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Minami’s Seiyuu did a fantastic job this episode conveying her emotions.

Tbh the whole scenario felt a bit forced. Even if she isn't playing, surely she would at least be there to watch her team play. But I guess that was a plot point to make them hurry and make it in time.

@Gator The conflict is that she personally promised a very important and beautiful gesture, and then found herself in a situation where she couldn't keep it. Even if you're not Japanese with their obsession with honor, this is a pretty simple motivation.

This is supposed to be a romcom. Why are we wasting 2/12 episodes on some pointless sports drama? I already get enough of that with Blue Box.

Nah, this Spokon mini-arc was better than most Spokon anime out there ๐Ÿšฌ

I really liked it. I didn't expect the enormous development Minami received, and doing it this way was a huge success.

QUICKLY PLACE YOUR BETS:

THE ODDS HAVE MOVED, IT'S NOW OR NEVER!!!

Who does Arata end up with?

Kotono: +125
Minami: +175
Ouka: +200
Banri: +250
Seiha: +325
None: +4500

Only one will win... Place your bet before it's too late.

What a wonderful episode man I was feeling for Minami at the end man it hurts seeing my favourite girl cry her eyes out like that man, Minami is literally putting so much on her shoulders man thinking that her team hates her for losing the tournament like she really is a ppl pleaser who put themselves down so much, like she’s such a sweet girl and not an aloof character that I thought she was back in ep 1 I’m so happy we got this little arc focused on her fr๐Ÿฅบ

I’m happy she at least didn’t stay home man bc that dramatic ass ending last episode almost fooled me man hahaha but Arata is a real one for biking all the way to the tournament and I love how he let Minami crying in his arms like it’s really looking like Minami might have a chance with Arata and I’m all for it ong๐Ÿคฉ

I wonder if we’re gonna get a beach episode tbh bc this show really seems like the kind of show to checkmark all the common tropes in a romcom yk๐Ÿซฃ๐Ÿ‘€

What is up with the writing in this episode. Throwing one thing after another after another after another after another. Playing a high-stakes game while injured? School coach okay go break a leg. Doga Koba has beautiful artwork/animation like always. Don't know what to do about the writing issues.

I'm not an expert when it comes to any sport, but I don't think you're supposed to play when injured, especially if becoming a pro player is your goal. Putting that aside, it's quite an emotional episode and shows us just how good this series could be when romance isn't shoved down your throat.

Fantastic episode of this series ever. The enthusiasm of Minami and affection of Shin were moving. This episode showed that this anime was not just a Rom Com, it was also a impressive coming of age story. The work of Doga Kobo empowers this episode by excellent representations.

Well now im terrified to continue this knowing that it shares authors with that abomination of a series…i even thought to myself that it was annoying how the mc looks similar to kazuya at certain angles…makes sense now

Minami showing her emotions to Arata and crying out like that was such a great scene. It really shows how frustrated she is with losing the match and tournament like that, and how much she cared for sending off her beloved club president.

With the looming Inter-High Finals, Minami just causally going to the convenience store instead of being at the court itself, she's clearly out of her element with her injury (which only Arata knows) which her team can back her up for recovery, but it's her constant naive attitude that Arata faces, that he cannot do anything unless she tells him. That is what Shion spotted her crying at one corner, not being given the chance to play and puttning on her usual act, and the siblings decide to bring her straight to Ariake Sports Center to play the pivotal match of her life, though the last stretch is with Arata reassuring her that she has worked hard the most out of all the siblings, and that her hard work will not be in vain.

Arata really amped his brotherly love for Minami allowing her to play despite her ankle injury towards both Nao and their coach, and what a class act of a redemption it is for Minami to push through her pain, even though she lost at the very end, that still earns the respect of everyone in her tennis team for giving them hope to succeed. Still, Minami thinking that she had to take the burden that's placed upon her, and Arata knows it all too well to give her a hug and break her vulnerability.

It's moments like these that Arata being their big brother holds more weight than being someone else of romantic interest.

Ik it's anime where a lot of things are over-the-top, but crying scenes are almost always too over-the-top; like it seems they have to be screaming in pain to get their emotions across, while just some simple sobbing would more than suffice. Anyway, just a minor nitpick.

Each girl will probably get their own story told eventually, but for now we're starting off with Minami's, and it feels like nothing right now is going to top it. I like how she lost instead of won, because that opens the door for more story-telling possibilities. If she won, everyone cheers and gets high and goes home. But because she lost, we get to see the reaction of the team, and more importantly we get to see how Minami herself deals with it. She seems so focused on being cheerful and making everyone happy around her that she was blind to what her own senpai said to her: thanking her for still coming out to play, despite her injuries and despite the possibilities of this whole ordeal ruining her future career. She was screaming out "I want to be the best" there at the end, but really I think she means that she is a people-pleaser, and that she believed she had failed in doing that today.

Luckily big bro Arata comes in clutch to give Minami what she needs: just to simply let it all out. She goes on yapping for a bit, continuing the facade before heading back to the car, but Arata just does what is best in that moment, and that is to hug her and tell her to just cry. Simple stuff, but many times it's just simple stuff that succeeds in getting you in the feels a little.

Good episode. Arata called Minami "the one that the family couldn't live without", by which we can assume he means that she is the emotional backbone of the family as she is always cheery and thus spreads her good vibes to others. But from here on out, Minami will probably learn to lean on those around her as well.

Anyway, Ouka still best girl, but so far Minami is more interesting and I wouldn't mind at all if she stayed in the spotlight even for the rest of the season. Minami is kind of the Yotsuba character here, but is way more likeable. Sorry Yotsuba fans, I may still be a bit salty after all this time. The rest of the girls are likeable too of course, but Minami and Ouka should get the most screentime. RIGHT NOW AT LEAST, Banri is just there to tease Arata, Seiha just that kind of one-note charaacter (kuudere or something they call it? idk getting mixed up), and also there to unintentionally tease Arata, and while Kotono is cute, I personally don't care for the shy timid character (is THAT what kuudere is?). But hey we still got episodes left and their turn in the spotlight are yet to take place. Just saying that it might be hard to top Minami, but we'll see.

edit: actually wasn't her expecting her to actually play. I thought Arata and the others were just bringing her to watch the games and let her cheer for her team, when she was probably too discouraged that she wasn't going to go at all. But I guess her playing was the better choice, because then she burdens the loss on her own shoulders which brings her to her breaking point- with a little goading to cry from Arata of course

it's not about the episode overall but I don't really relate to the characters I don't really care about what they feel or what they are going through that's the reason why I didn't like it that much
