It wasn't a great story for Sakamoto Days, but it didn't mean it was the worst.

Let me take a moment to consider watching the next part.

This slapped. Glad I waited for it to finish airing because this was one of the easiest binge-watches for me in a while. A bit of an abrupt ending here for Part 1, but at least it nicely sets up and gets us hyped up for for the next part.

It's just plain old simple fun supported by comedy and characters that I at least really liked. I think Shin is actually the standout character, and deserves to be the star of the show alongside Sakamoto himself; if that's not how the writers wrote him to be already. As for the animation, it's solid? Can only understand your disappointment if you're expecting visuals that came out of demon slayer. And animation isn't everything all the time. Sometimes supporting aspects like sound effects and choreography are all you need. Sakamoto does do some cool shit like catching a bullet with a fork. You don't need amazing animation to say that that is cool. As for the art style, this comes down to your own personal preference as does almost anything, but I like it. Feels like it's straight out of a comic book. And of course we can't forget about the world of underground(?) assassin organizations reminiscent of John Wick. It's just a guaranteed way to keep getting fights because everyone is getting paid to kill each other. It just does a lot of small things right and comes together in a nice little package that packs a punch.

Was thinking about setting this at a 7/10, but nah. I literally have no complaints, no nitpicks even, and I loved it. Again, was such an easy binge watch, and I'm really looking forward to part 2. We can easily bump this up to an 8/10. A nice way to subtly rub it in the faces of anyone complaining. Maybe my opinion would've been the same as them if I were also a manga reader and was expecting greater things for a manga I adored. But I'm not a manga reader, and maybe it's because of that that I've found another anime that's become a favourite.

Why'd they say "blackjack" when he got 21 after hitting... It's only a blackjack if you hit it with your starting hand, i.e. 2 cards, Ace and a face card or 10.

Also, why are they treating card counting as if it's some amazing skill lol. Also, it only barely gives the player an edge, about 1% better odds than the house; it's not some magic that makes you win all the time, it's still a coin toss as to whether or not you win.

This is veryyy basic stuff, and it's surprising they didn't do a lick of research for these scenes.

Okay this was a lame final episode as Wu Tang is just not that interesting. He got saved by 8 year old when he was younger? Is this show trying to make me not take him seriously? I also felt like this episode was written by someone who has no ideas how gambling or casinos work at all. Everyone going all in felt like just wanting to get through this part quickly.

Now the other part...so the four death row and two of them are black. Fuck why do they have to look so cool though? I don't know if I can call this racist as everyone in the show is some type of criminal. So...I'll give it a pass. Now time to find someone to draw Dump for me.

Oh, it's an 8 out of 10 btw. I like this show but this was a lacklsuter finale.

And now that it’s over, I can talk. Yeah this is undoubtedly one of the worst adaptations created for a series that deserved soooo much better.

VAs even feel like they aren’t into it most of the time. Animation is just “Special effects” with no animation, and drawn worse than manga with a lot of butchering to great panels and fights. And yes before defenders act like “atleast this isn’t blue lock”, welllll blue lock had some episodes that would actually break tradition and rival one of the best animations out there. This had nothing, literally zero good moments where the animation quality went up. It’s ironically sometimes the reverse, as animation goes still frames with like I said special effects. Now enough with animation criticism because I can go all day criticising it.

Now the biggest problem: the direction… The skipping of chapters… the story boarding… Who the () thought getting a tape and mixing everything up like that was a good idea? Yes they need to actually demote that person because wow zero experience. It made the characters not likeable at one point, the comedy fall flat, and the story feeling so off. Like nothing landed except maybe sometimes ost here and there.

This was worse than one punch man season 2, and this was worse than blue lock season 2 (yes because atleast that had VAs trying and OST was great, as well as ironically the direction wasn’t that bad, what made blue lock season 2 bad was literally crunch time and animation).

I didn’t want to bury this anime until the cour was over, because It would feel unfair. Because I did this to blue lock until final episode showed the actual problem of the season. This has nothing to redeem it. And next cour covers one of the best arcs and with this? This series will be forgotten in that season, because we actually have bangers with great studios… Imagine Kaiju no 8, Dandadan S2, Gachiakuta against this adaptation? Yeah bye bye Sakadays, going to continue the manga
@Confused_100 The animation is good. People jsut got spoiled by others and feel this is bad when it isn't. It's good but not the best. Dandandan and Solo Leveling got people wilding.

A good season (or part of season I guess), a lot of the complaints about it are overblown but I'll admit it has some work to do to compete with other heavy hitters in the production department. I'll be looking forward to part 2.

@Confused_100 I have watched other animes. Let me tell you something about this anime. It's very good moment to moment scenes and has excellent in-between work. The best aspect of the animation is the use of weight and perspective. It also does great gag. Like the one time Sakamoto is nodding his head along with Shin to throw off Keisuke. This is really good work. People who are upset at this don't know what good animation is if they're calling this mid.

The casino battle begins. Sakamoto and his team needs to win more money than Wutang in order to win back Lu plus finding out who puts the bounty on Sakamoto. If that is not enough, X sends a bunch of vicious assassins their way. A high stakes battle to to preview the next series. What a way to end the current series without much to be honest. Hope the next series be better.

Watched the rest of the episode and i gotta say im so entertained by this. Having Sugita as Sakamoto is brilliant and thus same with Ayaneru, Hayamin, and Nao.

Not gonna write much about the animation aspect, since perhaps this is actually already good enough for Sakamoto. Music unfortunately also so-so, but overall, i feel like this anime still entertaining me regarding all the weaknesses.

Looking forward to see the second part.

THE DEER IS BACK X3 <3!!!! Also, this episode did a solid service in fleshing out the mafia consigliere guy and I kind of feel bad for him. Having a calculated character on the team like him though is a very nice addition to the roster (I don't know if he is but if he is it'd be dope). Besides the dope casino event, there's now just straight up habitual murderers in the mix of the mafia & hit men world that just makes me realize that even with extreme lifestyles, there's lines to not be crossed. Interesting to see how it'll go. Shin also needs to tell Sakamoto about his encounter with Slur and also needs a cute episode with Lu tbh. Looking forward to number 12!

This episode felt really short. I guess its because it was spiktnibtontonshort parts that didn't really linger. The casino games were hilarious though Shin should have had the upperhand in every game due to his clairvoyant abilities. The latter part of the episode was a pretty good set up for next season imo. I overall it was an enjoyable series. I feel like the animation paired well with the tone of the series overall.

Shin was cleaning the casino out, and there was nothing they could do until Wutang overloaded his brain with info. Those mobsters should really know that Wutang wasn't one to take any crap! Sakamoto, Shin and Lu help him out and he keeps his word.
The four escapees and slur are going to be an interesting matchup in the next season. Lol no pickles meme

Weird to see this series stop one or two episodes in advance, but i also expected that Shin's powers would have not turned out OP or even useful. Old Maid as a card game in this context was instead a surprise. Those thugs used very weird underpants even if the action scene overall was nice. Lol, Wutang joins the minimarket too, and some scary new bad guys debut to try and keep interest for the second part.

7/10... Not my cup of tea as a story in general but it had some good moments, even if i could have probably skipped it if it didn't receive italian dub.

Tarou and Shin, by doing what they do best, somehow managed to tie with Wutang.

We also learned about the relationship between Wutang and Lu and why he’s so obsessed with her. Meanwhile, four dangerous killers have arrived in Japan, tasked with eliminating the Order members.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens next season. For a show this popular, I really hope the animation improves. But aside from that, as someone who only watched the anime, the experience was amazing—the story and plot were definitely solid!

It's bizarre that people are getting so worked up about this anime, whether it's the animation, the fights, etc.

This looks like nothing more than a pretty ordinary gag anime. I don't mean this as an insult.

I really don't think this needed an eye-bleeding, big-budget production. Maybe it becomes an insane, high-octane action epic later on? But then why are some manga readers so angry with the anime already?

To begin with, I'm surprised this manga is (apparently) so popular, I don't even see what makes it particularly special. I guess being on Shounen Jump helps a lot...

Overall, there are worse anime to waste time on, and I laughed in a few places. Will check out the next season, but in no rush at this point.

Not sure what you mean by this... Are you saying that people want good animation from Sakamoto Days because Solo Leveling got it?

Then I'm saying that doesn't really make sense to me. Sakamoto Days and Solo Leveling look like completely different kinds of anime. It's not even an apples-to-oranges comparison, it's more like apples to... a Tesla. And people want an apple to go 0-to-60 as fast as a Tesla would... Just, why?

Maybe the manga IS a hype-fueled action extravaganza, like Solo Leveling is. But that can't be true, because in that case the manga readers would complain that the anime turned Sakamoto Days into a different genre.

Just overall a bizarre situation, in my eyes. It just makes talking about this anime an unfun experience.

(Not that there's much to talk about... I thought it was really bland)
