| I'm a bit confused about the whole medicine making thing that is apparently a secret and not allowed for Maomao/women in the series. How is this possible? Didn't the emperor himself order Maomao to care for Lihua when she was ill in S1? Also, if I recall correctly in S1 ep3 (and ep5), Maomao directly indicated that the quack doctor lets Maomao make medicine there and sometimes even ask her directly, as well as other things like making the aphrodisiac...In this episode obviously as well, Gyokuyou and her court ladies know and don't react oddly or with any hesitation when she suggested making medicine for the court lady's cold... It's one thing for someone like Jinhsi to overlook Maomao, but it seems like pretty much everyone who has interacted with Maomao already knows about this and are overlooking it, which seems really weird since wouldn't they get in serious trouble for helping keep such an open secret? I mean, even Maomao herself didn't realize it was a secret until this episode! What a bizarre way to "keep" a secret... Also, wasn't that Suirei girl also dabbling in medicine? |
