Yeah it's a great series, at times it was a little too slow for me but I still love it and the art gave it such an authentic feel.

I want to see more from that mangaka, I got to read her yaoi one about politicians XD

eta- just found out viz is publishing the manga online @ http://www.sigikki.com/index.shtml definitely going to read it!

I finished Princess Mononoke last night and I was a bit dissapointed. Everybody seemed to rave about it but I struggled to really enjoy it. Yes, it was visually very good, but I felt the story was a wee bit weak and I couldnt connect to the characters. I somehow feel that I have missed out on something great here, or maybe my expectations were too high?
I am also watching Futakoi Alternative and it is not really working for me either, it seems to have become very disjointed inspite of the tie-ins to Futakoi. I will probably complete it, but I am dissapointed because people said it was better than the original, I feel its a poor attempt at a sequel. Maybe by the end of the series I will change my opinion.
May the Uguu be with you.

This next-to-last shot of the series during the ending credits made me extremely happy!!

I just finished Evangelion 2.22... for me... superb. I was riveted through the entire piece.
While the TV series often left me trying to wrap my head around things... I don't have the same issue with the theatrical release.
Ya ya.. lots of blood & gore.. more so than the series I believe... but the story lines feel more complete and in depth. I didn't find Shinji to be overtly annoying in the original TV release (I know most of you did) ... but he didn't seem quite as wimpy as before. Asuka and Rei both seem a little more human as well.
I'll be buying these to go with the original series.. and these will be rewatched.

Well, like the majority of the western otaku world, I too have finished watching FMA:B, and while I did enjoy the series, it did a few things for me.

#1 - re-affirmed my decision to not watch a series streamed. From now on I will continue to do it the old fashioned way and d/l or purchase the series. The wait for the next episode just pissed me off.

#2 - did not get on the PTB list. While I did enjoy the series, it was enough like the first series at the beginning that I thought it was a re-run and I already have that on disc from Spoon, Sonchou, SHS, and Keep-ANBU, thank you very much.

And, Chelle, anyone who has been watching the series was not going to be to terribly surprised by your so-called spoiler, and knew it was going to happen. Although, Mei certainly turned out to be a cutie there. Kinda surprised that her "neko" didn't grow up like she did though.

just finished Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou ~Quiet Country Cafe~, both it and its prequel make for an absolutely delightful 4 ep OVA series... completely engrossing and filled with a heartfelt feeling and warmth .. can't really describe it, just the epitome of 'feel-good' ... easily an 8 or 9 out of 10 :-)

and thanks for mentioning it kuroraka, will definitely be checking out the Manga :-D

I don't know about the Italians but I thought the portrayal of Canada wasn't that bad. It wasn't a laugh out loud portrayal but good enough for a smirk every now and then (and a bit of WTF?).

That or bores them to tears and want nothing more to do with it. Like me. It didn't offend me, I just thought is was incredibly brainless and an utter waste of my time. First time I ever dropped a series. Not put on hold, dropped. As in not worth coming back to after 3 episodes of sheer tedium. I want my 15 minutes back.

Sure they're only 5 minute eps, but that's 5 minutes more than I want to spend after having seen the first 15, and it's just one more reason for me to avoid the bishie genre in the future.

I just completed Tokomeki Memorial and I really enjoyed it. Sure, it doesnt have a great story, but it was a lot of fun. I am a sucker for these high school romance shows because my own high school life was absolutely lousy and this is the only way I can make up for it. The usual crop of crazy love sick girls turns up, and there were some really cute ones. And the transfer student who is actually a reasonably decent guy who gets tangled up by to many girls after his affection. Oh, and then there is a chicken.
It also had some very nice music in it and I was actually sorry when it ended. I have the OVA to watch still and hopefully that woint disapoint.

Now, I finished the manga Onani Master Kurosawa. It was recommended to me. And were it not for the recommendation, the title would have kept me away. It was much better than I expected. The main character grows into a much better person at the end. I'm glad to have read it.

I like so many recently finished FMA Brotherhood. While I'm glad to have seen the differences (because I couldn't make it past volume 1 of the manga), I NEVER want to watch Brotherhood again. I'll stick with the original. The ending credits were sweet but predictable. I feel robbed by Brotherhood since

I also recently completed Monochrome Factor. I was surprised by this series. It turned out to be pretty good. And the ending . . . well,

I completed The Tatami Galaxy yesterday and it was odd, It only really made some sort of sense at the end, but for some reason it was enjoyable because there was some really odd moments in it. The closest thing to it I have seen in ages was the Endless Eight episodes from Haruhi Suzumiya.
I also watched the first 2 episodes of "I's" and it was lousy. Had it been more than 2 episodes I probably would have dropped it. I did DL "I's Pure" a bit before and am now hesitant to watch it just in case it too is garbage. Ugh, I hate wasting a good download, lucky it is only 6 episodes.

I finished Saber Marionette J to X last week. I guess the underlying story is what kept me watching through to the end. The animation was not very good. I also had a problem with the voice acting but, it was a dubbed version. I don't know how good the voice acting was in the original Japanese. Still, I enjoyed it more than enough to finish it.

Today I finished Rumbling Hearts. Not really my cup of tea. Too much like a daytime soap. And a sappy ending. One of lowest scores for anime I have actually finished. Still, I can see how there are those who would enjoy it much more than I.

I watched I's awhile ago and it was awful. It was so bad I really did not feel up to watching I's Pure that I had already downloaded. But, I am off sick so decided to watch it anyway and I was pleasantly suprised. It was 1000 times better than I's although they both shared the same characters. Its one of those boy wants girl but other girl wants same boy scenarios and it was very frustrating at times because the 2 who were meant to be just could not get it together. Everybody did live happily ever after though and I came away with new hope for the future (why I dont know). The irony is that the main female character Lori is unlike most anime heroines I have seen, she is almost nornmal! I really enjoyed this little gem because I do so like a soppy romance now and then. Oh, its ecchi level is low...

Genshiken and Genshiken OVA. Wow... they were both a lot of fun. Shades of Welcome to the NHK is the first thing that springs to mind, but this one has more functional characters. I liked the balance between protagonists and how the Otaku vs non-Otaku is threshed out and how some sot of compromise is reached. Its an interesting and entertaining view and I am now collecting eps for series 2.

A few days later and Genshiken 2 is under my belt and it was just as great, although with a very different feel to the 1st series. I did enjoy it though, I just wish it had a better ending.

Just completed Kimi Kiss Pure Rouge. I dropped this last year and came back to it this week after a long hiatus. and I was pleasantly surprised. Its the usual slice of life/high school romance/childhood friends sort of genre and it did turn toward the expected ending. However, there were at least 2 really nice balanced characters in it that I was rooting for. The one; Yuumi Hoshino, was awesome, kind of like Nagisa from Clannad, and sadly at the end she was all alone which I thought was a shame (I really must stop getting involved with these characters like this!) But I enjoyed watching her as well as everybody else.
There is a special for it too, but I havent been able to find it for DL
Now to try marathon the end of Elfen Lied.

I have just finished the best yaoi series I have ever seen in my life. The story (yes, ladies, a real story) is romantic, poignant, and tragic. It's told beautifully. I don't know what else I can say about it. I teetered between giving it a 9 and a perfect 10. The highest score any yaoi or shounen-ai has ever received from me.

The 3-episode OVA is called Fuyu no Semi, or Winter Cicada. Emotionally, this one is gonna take me a while to "digest". Even the sex scenes in this series were beautifully and erotically done, without it just being about "doing the deed".

I have never seen a shounen-ai or yaoi series with this much depth to it. Loved it. And I'm still teetering. For now, 9/10, but once I rewatch it, that may change to a perfect 10.

The sad part is that it's supposedly a movie "starring" the two (AV) actors of Haru wo Daiteita and it's actually way better than their "real life" story and ova, like, their "porn movie" outdone them >_>

I found both pretty average (which can be said for almost every adaption of BL mangas, sadly enough) but i gave Fuyu no Semi an extra point for the samurai. Samurai make everything at least 10% better!:P
