| So money was a motive in this betrayal arc after all. Figured... Somehow, I find a lot of the characters in this show to be unlikble so far, even Noel. The whole 'betrayal' theme just overshadows everything else in this episode. I assume the tone of this series will be similarly dramatic for a lot of episodes. |

| NOW WE'RE TALKING! episode 1 of talker was a little underwhelming but that was only a setup to the MOST EDGY GET-BACK OF THE CENTURY! Noel is finally alone and has to rebuild the clan all on his own. I'm a manga reader so I won't spoil anything but the next events will be something to look forward to! don't drop it just yet. If you like power-fantasy with a cunning and edgy main protag, then this is exactly for you! |

@HOOfan_1 The torturing rapist from Redo of a Healer was smart enough to outwardly pretend not to be an asshole, because he understood that making everyone hate you for no benefit isn't helpful. He manipulated his allies into thinking he was acting to help people, he manipulated the populace into thinking he was saving the princess who he was actually torturing. THAT'S a smart character.
Unlike Noel, who is not smart enough to treat his allies with even fake respect and not smart enough to not deliberately make enemies of everyone around him for no reason. I don't understand how the summary can describe Noel as "silver tongued" when all he does is insult literally everyone.

| @amf85 that's a good point too, even if people feel his actions are justified, why would they want to work with him if they think the most faint of slights might set him off? Maybe there is much more to his backstory than we have seen so far, but I don't see where his attitude so far is warranted either. |

Ahah, he is freaking maniac. It was satisfying and brutal revenge, but it's kind of stupid to sell your former party members to slavers. If this information became public, nobody would like to work with him. I wonder what else his grandfather taught him, that he became like that.

| 4/5, I have mixed feelings but overall like Noel. He doesn't seem like a bad guy, more like a chaotic neutral. Those 2 definitely earned punishment and as we saw neither of them had any regret and blamed others for their actions. She might have liked Noel, but she was very much a low-value woman as leader was a low-value man. In this world, [indefinite(?)] slavery is better than 10-years of labor camp. While I don't like the slave trade thing, I do like the trader. I'm disappointed he didn't beat her up too, but I guess female slaves are more likely to lose value from beating than male slaves as that's how the fucked up world is. |

| @SoulReaper85 agreed Just like most gross addicts [who often harm others with their addiction], they refused to even get to the first step of recovery: accepting they had a problem. They both VERY clearly stated they had no regrets and didn't feel they did anything wrong, and would do it again!!! Definitely more so would serve as a warning. |

I thought they would just let Tanya and Lloyd off with a slap on the wrist or just charge their betrayal to the game, but Noel tracking them down, publicly humiliating them and then selling them off to slavery is CRAZY. What an episode. I hate goody goody two shoes MC’s with a passion so seeing one be straight savage and get revenge with no hesitation is great. Noel doesn’t care how long you been with him, if you double cross and lie you’re going to pay the consequences. Tanya begging Walter to save her there at the end and then just berating him when he wouldn’t step in.. el o fucking el. You didn’t pay bro any attention before now want him to save you 😂. No sympathy for them, they could’ve got help for their addiction. Honestly don’t blame Walter for leaving Noel. | Noel was savage in this episode, he definitely lived up the the ruthless name in the episode title. Lloyd & Tanya got what they deserved. Sad that Walter left, his heart was broken though, he was a good person who will be missed. Now to wait and see what kind of party member Noel can get. |

| @HOOfan_1 ,I find this highly amusing,since its only 2 episodes in,and so far you have no idea as to world building,what the characters/general populace are like. Personally,I prefer Noel over the MC from Redo,since Noel is upfront about being a total asshole,whereas hiding your true nature isn't a mark of a SMART character,just the mark of someone who's insecure enough about his true nature that he has to hide it so people won't realise how much of an ass he is.Just my opinion,but I'd prefer Noel any day of the week since whatever he'd say to me,I'd know it was what he truly thought. And yes,I'm an asshole too :) |

| Loving this so far. Lloyd and Tanya took a gamble and it didn't pay off. Walter went "Holy crap, this is too much for me!" And Noel showed what happens when people mess with him. Ainz from Overlord against Clementine is still my favorite 'true gender equality' example. Tanya got off easy so she can sell for a better margin. I know that sounds icky, but its the truth. Can't measure Noel against the dude from Redo as I haven't watched that one. |
| Once cornered, their true colors come out, revealing how awful and selfish they are. Noel actually saved them from sure death in the mines, for a possible life in servitude, they should be grateful, but they only see him as betraying them, when they deserve far worse for what they did to Noel & Walter, in betraying the party and their members. Noel's dealings with the hired party and the negotiations with the slave trader were well planned out as well. If Lloyd had not asked for the leader position, and let Noel become the leader, this would not have happened. |

Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.  |

| Wasn't sure about the first episode but this one was pretty enjoyable. Not a big fan of the voiceover exposition but we'll see if it gets better. As a big fan of anti-hero protagonists I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes, although to be honest I kind of would have liked to start a little further back in the story: show us some setup of the party and them working together/bonding and then throw the betrayal at us, that way it hits harder. |
