I know we are all anime fans, but the notion that all anime fans only love anime openings and endings or only love Japanese music isn't factual at all. I myself tend to love all genres of music, some even more than others.

If I had to name three of my favorite generic genres, they would be Metal, Rap, and EDM. My love for music has been with me since the age of fifteen, when I was in a local metal band and even now where I make Trance music and other genres of EDM like Progressive House and Dubstep.

Tell me, what are your favorite artist/bands and what is your favorite genre?

My favorite bands are Korn, Slayer, Job For A Cowboy, Maximum The Hormone, Globe, and Dir En Grey. As for artist? Avicii, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Deadmau5, Skrillex, Eazy E, Gucci Mane, and Chief Keef.

My all time favorites are pop and rap. I also like occasional R&B.

My favorite artists are Tyler, the Creator, A$AP Rocky, PND, and Lil Tecca

When great leaves fall, the winter is at hand;
When the sun sets, who doth not look for night?
Untimely storms make men expect a dearth."

Folk Metal, Heavy Metal and many subgenres of metal or rock which I don't recognise such as power metal, trash metal etc. Maybe black metal or death metal are the one which I ain't a fan of, also I am bigger fan when these metal stuff have Female vocals.

Here few-several examples of such stuff [Polish and Japanese as that's my 2 only languages I listen to within these genres]:

@Zettaiken That's fair I love to experiment and come up with new ideas for when I make my music.

Example once I'm done creating my seven EDM single, two EDM EPs, and three EDM albums I plan on making a metal album as well. I have a 5 string bass, a 6 string guitar, and an acoustic guitar as well.

I also have a mic and lots of experience with playing metal in drop B and drop C tuning, so maybe I can make that into a reality, but for now I'm just a nerdy weeb making anime content and focusing on EDM while he studies computer science 😂😂

@Commit_Crime Drums as in Drum n Bass or is there a specific group you like? I'm curious as I like to experiment and listen to new stuff from here and there, I can list tons of Metal genres to basically playing them on my 5 string bass guitar or let's say I'll listen to some Nine Inch Nails and transcribe that same sound, but through a constructed idea of electronic music.

I listen to many different genres of music, but Heavy Metal in general makes up about 80% of any of my given playlists.
My favorite subgenre is the traditional style of Heavy Metal, the one inspired by bands like Iron Maiden (My favorite band), though I'm open to far more extreme styles as well as more obscure bands in the subgenre, like Manilla Road and bands inspired by them.

I actually don't listen to much anime music, I prefer videogame music instead.

Folk music and trance are probably my favorite genres. However, I still like alot of different genres of music as my playlist is a mix of alot of different songs.

Some of my favorite artists/bands would probably have to include Kenya Grace, Poor Mans' Poison, and Barefoot McCoy.

Be safe and well travels,
Chris

I was always quite closed when it came to music. As a kid I only listened to punk, hardcore punk and a little pop punk. Obviously it's my favorite genre.
I also like some international bands, Bad Religion, Social Distortion, Ramones, Joy Division, Millencolin, Blink, emo or more "calm" things like My Chemical Romance and Paramore.
Argentine bands, where I'm from, Eterna Inocencia and Loquero are my favorites. And you have classics like Attaque 77, Flema, 2 Minutos, Fun People or Cadena Perpetua.
Then I added genres. I really like rock in Spanish but from Spain. Extremoduro is an incredible band. It's even my favorite international band.
I also really like Indie, the Argentinian one is very good.
And I like Italian Pop, it has tremendous singers. And they are very pretty, heh.

Recently I've been listening to a lot of music. My favourite type of music is rock (Some of my favourites The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, The Smiths and many prog rock bands like Gentle Giant, King Crimson, Yes, Jethro Tull etc.) I also like some types of pop (The artists I like the most are Fishmans, The Beach Boys and Cocteau Twins), Folk (Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen), Jazz (John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, Lee Morgan, Dave Brubeck, Wayne Shorter) and Hip-Hop, I am kinda picky about this genre, there aren't that many artists I like but the ones I like the most are Kendrick Lamar, Wu-Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest, MF DOOM and Kanye West

Folk music is good I love how Avicii would mix Folk music with his Progressive House, truly an innovator within EDM.

And Trance is why I got back into EDM I now produce it as well and the thing I hate is how people will look down on DJ’s for having it “easy”, but DJing is more than just turntables and laptops, you need to know elements of the song your constructing and even more.

I dig that, honestly if I’m not in the mood for electronic or Metal music I listen to rap.

Eminem, 2Pac, Biggie Smalls, Eazy-E, N.W.A, Gucci Mane, Chief Keef, XXXTentacion, Lil Peep, Lil Pump, Kanye West, Ludicrous, Fat Joe, Pop Smoke, SouthPark Mexican, Peso Peso, Sauce Walka, 50 Cent, KTS Von, 051 Drilla, and FBG Duck.

I love anything with rap music pretty much, well… almost anything.

Rap without a story or a constructive build is mid at best. Gangster and Drill rap for me always tells me about a struggle of the streets and what it takes to get off the streets, the struggle been real and people realize that too.

Conscious rap like J.Cole, 2Pac, and Biggie is why I respect the way they spit, it’s nothing but common sense and bars.

I think rapping about money and twerking has its place, but not my cup of tea.

I don't really understand music genres. For me, there's "instrumental music", "pure songs", and "songs with instruments". And then there's rap, which doesn't fit into any of those.

I also don't get the word "artist" in relation to music. An artist is someone who makes physical art, or describes the imbuing of media with meaning. Music is made my musicians, who may be composers, singers, instrumentalists etc.

Anyway, I like a lot of music from Beethoven, Lia, Nightwish, Tschaikowsky, The Delgados, Bjork, The Spinners, Supercell and Dvorak, and I also have to mention Holst and Rimsky-Korsakov for a few particular pieces. Beethoven definitely the most important name there. But I really don't look all that hard for music, it's mostly just a matter of what I stumble across.
