Actually, I've known this anime for a long time, but I'm not in the mood to watch it yet, so I just watched it a few days ago

Pretty heartwarming episode, I have a few questions

-How did those mama get pregnant?
-Does the outside world have other humans?

I'm very curious to know it too
Maybe we can find the answer in the next season

well, I'm also waiting for next season

For me it's a 8/10. For me, most of the episodes made me want to continue watching. The animation is amazing. The only thing for me is that it seemed a little rushed. I'm still really excited for season 2!

This was honestly much better than I expected it to be. The story telling and characters were great, and the setting was very interesting.

There were a lot of moments where the anime had a firm grasp of my attention, and the added suspense really had me on the edge of my seat.

I'm honestly very excited to watch the second season now, and to see what sorta potential threats may lie beyond the walls of the farm.

Phew! They successfully escaped from Plant Three. I was literally repeatedly sating faster, faster, faster. lmao.

Aww. Now we got Isabella's flashback. She tried to escape before but she failed. Then she trained to be a mom candidate. So they are not just mom by position but also real moms, they were baby maker! So who's the fathee? lol. (Or artificial insemination maybe). She did all of this just to survive. Being born in the farms is a tragedy. So everything isba facade, it's good to know that Isabella is actually happy that her children successfully escaped. She's really hapoy that her children manage to accomplish something she failed at.

I know this is just the start of everything. Can't wait for season 2!!!

So I made the decision to catch up on the promised neverland after procrastinating for a few years and omg it was fucking phenominal. The twists and suspense this anime was so good the entire was through. The ending too showing us more Isabella backstory than them escaping letting us resonate with her. It was so good the entire way through.

The last 2 episode were so full of emotions it had me in tears. Anger, tension, sadness and determination all throughout the last 2 episodes. At the end of the last episode I really though Isabella was going to kill herself was I the only one😳. But I can’t wait for season 2 so many things are left so open like what happened to Norman 🥺. Overall I love this anime✨

I just want to know, who impregnates these mothers? since as far as I know they don’t have the same program for males where they are given the opportunity to grow up to adults, unless the monsters are the ones providing these “seeds”.

Norman. After his departure, he was still a big help to them, really, its actually huge. He even defeated Ray's whole suicidal poor plan. Krone, without her pen, and that keys, they couldn't pass the fire trials in the beginning. Well, binged watching this really an excitement. A lot of thing happened before, and united brilliantly here. Minor character like Phil, and the others, had a major role. Its a truth. Poor me whose already knew some of plot points, such as those cutting ears, Norman absent, and, well, Phil last role. Isabella last input absolutely amazed me too. She may not so bad, she just wanted to survive. But, different to Emma's overall mentality whose never gave up, whatever happened, she had no friends to be care off, except that pink hair boy. By his departure, its already weakened her hopes and spirits, so she was forced down to accept Grandma's hands, and became the new Mama. Bad cycle for her, but nice justification toward her wicked personality. No complain. Even though i don't really read the manga, i may believe, that manga still far superior at these marked point.

But, this is simply a great 12 episodes. Cloverworks art always stunned, and they did their best to accumulate the tension and suspension. Its good. The storyline itself was superior. That some kind of great twist, unexpected from my point of view, and yeah, such a big brains! As per my standard, this is simply my 10/10. Ironic, because i don't really like a suspense-thrilling anime. However, since i just entering some series like Higurashi, and then this. Guess i just need to just chill and have fun.

Okay, then. Wait for me, s2....

I'd bet they keep some promising young men alive—like Norman—to get their... genetic material. They never showed Norman dying, just going into a room looking shocked. He had perfect scores and was a mastermind at age 12. It'd be a waste to let those traits die out. And hey: if they just want the donation, all they've got to do is wait till puberty and take it: he doesn't have to agree.

Anyway, Mom may have been a cold-hearted bitch, but after this episode, I don't hate her. More like... I can sympathize with her motives. She wanted to survive, and she did whatever it took. She wasn't smart enough to escape herself or big-hearted enough to take everyone.

I thought she was going to jump into the cliff or hang herself with the rope, but she went back to the little kids in the end.

The finale was great, almost spotless. As a whole I think the season was worth a solid 9/10 - not quite a masterpiece but truly great. I kind of expected that they were going to avoid the bridge and jump over the closest point of that deep chasm (that is not a cliff, and besides it is clearly artificial) but the details and execution of the escape were still stellar.

Of course by far the most surprising part was the revelation that Ray is Isabella's biological son!?! My monitor almost drank half my coffee at that point.. This also explains where all these children come from : not from artificial wombs like I suspected (since the "Tifari" are almost certainly aliens, not demons) but from the "Moms" and "Sisters" themselves.

It would make a lot of sense to have them make babies to hold them hostage and keep their mothers in line, but apparently the Tifari use for meat the very same babies the trainee moms & sisters make. Therefore the only thing they can hold over them is their own survival, not that of their children (I'm not quite sure how realistic is that honestly..).
Isabella was apparently so much resigned to her fate and cared only about her own survival that she was 100% ready to "ship" her own son and apparently even have him killed in front of her eyes. She fully "accepted the despair so that she is not in pain", as she advised Emma to do.

The Tifari or "grandma" -whoever decides which baby goes where- could have sent Ray to another "plant", which would also be more practical (very few babies can recall stuff from even before they are born but most of them can be easily recognized by their birthmarks) but it appears that they are both sadists, so they probably sent Ray to "Plant 3" on purpose. I can't wait to start season 2 (after I take an emotional breather...)!! I really hope Norman was spared by the way.. My best guess would be, if he was spared, that he was chosen as a sperm donor..

That's what I thought as well, but I think she got rid of the ropes so that the Tifari do not know from which point the children escaped. They appear to have a keen sense of smell, so the children's scent combined with their tracks should have given them away if followed from the right path. However if the escape point (or even method..) was unknown it would be very difficult to guess where/how the children escaped from. That should buy them quite a bit of of time, at worst.

When Isabella waved the children goodbye and prayed they were safe this was probably the very first time she truly meant it (i.e. not "safe" until they became meal). If somehow all the children had managed to escape she would have almost certainly jumped into the chasm (along with the ropes) right there and then. However she turned back for the little ones, to take care of them until a new Mom was sent (probably an emergency promotion from Sister to Mom..). There is no way the Tifari and/or Grandma are going to let her live and she knows it, so she chose to be killed (and perhaps eaten?) by them.

If you really think about it perhaps Isabella strived to raise the smartest and strongest children so that they have a shot to eventually escape (succeed where she failed), and not for mere "higher profits". At least on a subconscious level this was probably always her hidden deep (perhaps very deep) hope. And at the end of the season that subconscious hope finally rose to the surface..

A powerful finish to season 1.

You got some hints during the season but I must say that I got really happy when I saw Isabella showing some real emotions and actually whishing the children which ran away good luck.

This is an easy 8/10 for me.

One of the best anime I've watched in a very long time. The suspense from the very beginning until the end kept me on my toes (literally).

I feel really bad for the lost children and Norman in particular. I can't say the same about Isabella though; it's as if the ending scenes tried very hard to persuade the viewers that she's actually good on the inside, but for me personally it didn't quite work out. If the very first thing that comes to your mind as your child is burning in front of you is "gotta save his brain so the monsters can be fed!", then... yeah. No respect regardless of how human the show makes you look in the end.

Also, it's incredibly The Handmaid's Tale-esque at times (another show I've completed recently). Among many other things, Isabella is very reminiscent of Aunt Lydia. Not sure if these were mere coincidences or were done on purpose, but it works for me nonetheless.

Easy 10/10.

I reckon a 9.5/10.

I'm not a horror fan, but damn this anime did it well. The only reason it doesn't get a clean 10 is because some of the characters were a bit annoying and became angry or made stupid emotional choices for the tiniest of reasons.

Great soundtrack, fantastic animation and a gorgeous art style. It's a shame I didn't discover this anime sooner.

Breathakingly epic finale,

We got shown the true side of Isabella and her past inside orphanage and also epic escape by kids, those demonds are damn creepy and its so weird seeing them in such unatural enviroment to them. The first seaon as a whole was full of great intense moments and surprises, very memorable journey and one of the best season finales I've seen so far I'd say 9.1/10

isabella's flashback sequence at the end is beautiful and heartwarming, but does not redeem her for me. though i figured all that coldness and cruelty and feigned solicitude was masking a lot of pain. that concern and wishing them well at the end? just a goodbye to a lost investment, that's it.

but damn -- the look of surprise on ray's face as he slowly realized he'd underestimated everyone. that was just *chef's kiss*

Woohoo, everyone over the age of 4 managed to escape Plant Three. Norman's plan, adapted and led by Emma, went off perfectly without a problem, although if Isabella had caught on sooner, that might've been a different story altogether.

We get some well needed Isabella flashback and a reveal that Ray is Isabella's son... which makes the "useful dog" stuff in prior episodes feel way more funny, lol.

Much like episode 11, I can't say I like the whole "we've been preparing this whole time" angle. That may just be because it's frustrating to not have seen it, and simply being told it isn't enough. But, like the last ep, I'll just say whatever to the situation.

This wasn't a bad show, honestly. Now onto season 2, which I hear is better than this one...

Today is finally the time to escape from this hell that they've been placed

I thought they were tracked but it seems that's not the case, and of course, Isabella would follow them and that was kind of anti-climatic

Damn we saw how Isabella started and how did she come to this, That was an unexpected turn of events Ray is Isabella's son no wonder he's her spy but all in all that was a bit expected a bit too relaxing as an escape.

This was a hell of a season as they've discovered secrets planning their escape and leading up to the last moment not too scary as the first episode and a lot of preparation was followed but it was entertaining how it all turns out hopefully the second season will do it,and looking at the rating I would probably assume it's a dumpster fire giving the ratings a benefit of a doubt, too bad Mama is so hot but so crazy at the same time I rate this season Hot Crazy Mama That Wants to Traffic Me/10

Great show, my only real problem with it was that I found Sister Krone to be way too cartoony and took away from any tension that the anime should have given me whenever her antics occurred. Still i am happy that I finally got around to seeing this.

Given the absolute terrible buzz on the second season, I suppose its time to read the manga to continue the story.

Obviously there's so many ways that this story can branch out and continue, but it doesn't have to. Even with new adventures on the horizon (do I dare even watch one episode of season 2?) we are given a sense of finality, especially with Isabella's backstory to wrap things up. Finishing the story even just here, makes for a perfect ending.

I already accidentally spoiled for myself that Ray was Isabella's son, but even with that spoiled, it did not ruin the moment for me. Because in the spoilers was not mentioned the grief on Isabella's face when she realized her son was now within these walls.

This anime should just be re-titled as "everyone is the goat". Ray of course is the goat for planning things out since he basically was a toddler. Norman is the goat for formulating and passing on a revised escape plan even when he knew that his time was up. Emma is the goat for still holding strong and not losing sight of their goal even when they lost Norman, even putting up a facade of depression which definitely had some realness to it. Don and Gilda are the goats for training and preparing everything they needed to escape, along with all the other kids. And of course, Phil is the absolute freaking goat for acknowledging that the children his age would slow the group down, and readily agreed to stay behind, to wait until one day they return.

I rate based on my own personal enjoyment, and I'm going to give The Promised Neverland an 8/10; maybe a 9/10. But really, this anime deserves no less than the perfect score of a 10/10.

I never expected that tune to tie in so nicely with everything. We finally get to know Isabella's backstory and about Ray.

On a separate note, if the "mommas" have be impregnated by someone... right? I think Norman is still alive and we should find out about it at a later point in the story.

Love how Phil was in on it too.
Also takes some balls to just trust that the ropes would hold them and not break O_O

Sad seeing the backstory of Isabella, just like I suspected she really does care for the children but just like the kids she's just as much stuck in the system as they are.
Was not surprised Ray was her kid, I thought the story would at least lead into one of the main characters being her kid.

Amazing storytelling, learning about the mysteries of the world (which they've barely touched upon) and the whole prison break aspect of it.
Some genuinely creepy moments, not to mention the whole harvest aspect of it of course.
Characters were fantastic, it's hard to relate to 11 year olds but the setting made it a lot easier and I really cared for the characters.

I still think Norman is probably alive considering we never really saw him die.

For me this was an easy 10/10.
Now let's see how much season 2 managed to obliterate the build up of this season :/
