What true form? I don't remember it being said anywhere in the show that he looks any different naturally. The species he's from on that planet just happen to naturally resemble dogs on Earth. Correct me if I'm wrong.

@WatchTillTandava Ohhh wait wait- looking back at it, I think I may have misinterpreted that whole thing with Naosuke's species! I thought he was of a different species than Mira & Shoin (ofc) but was just taking on the /form/ of a dog.

I went back and rewatched the scene where Shoin first appeared and he asked Naosuke "Why are you standing like that?" (Naosuke was on all fours). So I guess what differentiates an Earth dog and Naosuke is that Naosuke's species can stand on two legs I think???

My bad, I let my assumptions get the best of me TuT!!! Still curious as to what a human-like design for Naosuke would've looked like tho xD

Yeah, I assume that they are different species, but to my recollection they never provide a name for any of the species as they just refer to them as Widos, as in, from the planet Wid, which applies to Naosuke, Mira, Shoin, Mira's parents, etc., but it's a very broad indiscriminate label like referring to every living thing on Earth as an Earthling, as aliens who can speak and communicate with humans in Sci-Fi sometimes do. Technically it's true that we are all Earthlings, but it would apply to everything from you and I to coyotes to termites to some strain of bacteria.

I think that the biggest distinguishing features between the doglike species on planet Wid and the dogs on Earth are, yes, that they're upright and bipedal walking, but also that they're very long-lived (Mira says Naosuke and others from his kind on average will live a lot longer than her and others of the human-esque species she's a part of) whereas dogs are a lot shorter lived than Earth humans, and that they can speak the same language as the human-esque species. So they may have more in common physiologically beneath the surface with their version of humans, including more similar brains.

@WatchTillTandava very true!!! It makes me wish we got to know more about Widos and their home planet, including their environment, social systems, different species/races, and what makes them different from ordinary humans on Earth! It would make for a good follow-up OVA/movie/spin-off!

@Kimurah the funny thing is that I don't even need to answer you, because my list already does that on its own.
@Esteban19

Yeah, a lot of edgy shit to impress teens. Specially Legend of the Overpretentious Heroes.

enjoyed this anime quite a bit, biggest issue I faced with it was that I really just wasn't a fan of mira x takumi, and whilst I do love romance animes, it makes it a lot harder to enjoy the romance when you aren't really rooting for the two main characters. Liked it a lot more as a comedy though, 6/10 for me

Hmm... plain yet enjoyable anime.

Retro art with the modern touch, which I think it was nice for a change.

These last episodes were kinda weak compared to the others (which I had some good laughing).
These last episodes (11 and 12) also felt slightly rushed.

I feel like this anime could have been more, but I guess this is how the anime is supposed to be, which is easy going and enjoyable on its own way.

Aoi-chan best char. She had some story and also development.

I was thinking about an 8/10 after watching the 1/3 and 2/3 halves, but I think in general it ended up 7/10.

Man, I don't normally feel sad finishing an anime, but this one made me feel a little heavy by the end of it. Sure it can get a little whimsy here n' there, but this anime carried so many meaningful messages beneath the whacky surface and I absolutely adored that. The retro vibes also took me back to the days when I was a little toddler watching old 70s-90s anime with my mom. All the characters were loveable and interesting in their own ways and I especially loved the chemistry between Mira and Takumi!!!

I guess my only complaint was that I was REALLY hoping to see Naosuke's true form and see him get closer to Aoi-chan, their chemistry was too endearing to leave it at them splitting ways ;u; </3

Maybe I'm being a bit biased by rating this show a 8/10, but god- I wouldn't wanna give it anything less! Really hope more people will pick this show up and it gets a higher rating!!!
@RayalitySaga I think naosuke don't true form. I also really like his story with aoi. I hope they meet again

Wasn’t anything special but it made for a few chuckles and heartwarming scenes here and there. Definitely gave off a little of the 90s vibes which was a great plus!

6/10 from here.

Tho this series wasn't the best thing ever but was pretty nice still, I really like how this ending formed, was really heartwarming :)

Yamashita tho with the double take, really thought he did suddenly go 😭

I was really glad that Aoi finally managed to see the person who supported her and put her on her feet, more or less everything happening this episode really tied well what happened and all loose ends were tied too, it was a really fun watch :)

A great ending, and overall, it's been a fun ride. I really like its old-school vibe, so I would watch a hypothetical 2nd season for sure!
