The first Arc where there are only Gojo and Geto is the best of the season. I even forgot what the show was about when season 2 started. The animation was bad after the Gojo ark the fights were uninspired and dull. Hope that the studio gives more leeway in order for Season 3 to be good.

This episode marks the singlemost major change in the Jujutsu world.

With Fake-Geto's usage of the enhanced idle transfiguration he acquired from the awakened Mahito, he activated the marked non-sorcerers to either become a vessel for reincarnation or be able to use cursed techniques themselves. That meant there would be more cursed users in addition to reincarnated figures. Not to mention the countless cursed spirits that he let loose. The Jujutsu higher-ups were right when they deemed Geto as an extreme threat, his cursed spirit manipulation is truly a divine technique that spells doom to the modern era as it welcomes back the Golden Age of Sorcery.

Step aside Itadori, the REAL MAIN CHARACTER of the story, Yuta is here to kill your ass

We're only 2 seasons in and several arcs into this series and their world is already facing a drastic shift now that the Tokyo metropolitan area is abandoned/evacuated. This series is really quick to just dive into the big events. And there's no break either for better or worse. Next arc Yuta is jumping straight into the fray as Itadori's executor and there're little to nobody who could side let alone contend Yuta's and Rika's limitless prowess.

This season has been an all-out warfare, awesome. So should the next season. I will not forgive any studio that tarnishes the badassery that Yuta and Rika would showcase.

So Japan's in a state of danger, Itadori is being hunted by Yuuta?! Whoever attemps freeing Gojo will be a criminal? What is going on..so many questions. S2 was really good, hopefully the animators can catch a break.

Although pretty much the whole episode was exposition and there wasn’t a single fight scene it was still cool. Yuki is a baddie and the devastations and destruction of Tokyo was really cool to see. And very excited to see Okkotsu again. No idea where the show is headed next but I’m excited.

yep def a rollercoaster in both good and bad
1st off the animation kept jumping around in quality, discussed elsewhere already
2nd the pacing felt very off putting a la one piece, way too many distractions. if only they chose a more linear path and tried to keep things more coherent for the masses
3rd man the story made too little sense for those not heavily focused in the lore. especially with a broad cliff hanger ending like this, its hard to piece together
yeah i need my focus elsewhere and ill prolly rewatch 1 episode twice so i can understand it more

still tho, awesome ride, its just that i dont fully understand the story this season which still subtracts from my overall enjoyment
anime/manga version of steam would be awesome - https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1625396

Welp with that this season is over. There was quite a lot packed into this season fr.

In this episode, Geto finally utilised Mahito's cursed technique to unleash his plan which I quite frankly don't fully understand. I understood that he used Mahito's powers to alter the brains of several thousand non sorcerers but was it just to create random chaos all over Japan? I think not. There has to be some sort of condition or smth. Also, 10 million cursed spirits are running rampant throughout the city

Megumi's sister is one of them.

Too bad we don't get to see Special Grade Yuki in action.

Yuta is finally back in Japan and looks like he has been ordered to kill Itadori. And he's quite pissed at him too since when Sukuna was free, Inumaki was also injured and has now lost both his arms.

The Jujutsu society's governing body is so fucking trash, ignorant, and unfair. These old ass geezers are focusing on the wrong issues. They have deemed Gojo as a villain now. Wtf. Also Principal Yaga is gonna get executed just coz they want it.

Looks like Yuji is now roaming all around and killing any cursed spirits he can find.

Great season both story and animation-wise. Really worth the hype. Next season seems to be even more chaotic. Can't wait for it. Hopefully, the animators get their well-deserved breaks and salaries.

This episode was the best in a long time. The nightmare of the Shibuya Incident is over and I pray I won't be disappointed yet again with Season 3.

Regarding my final review for the season... I'll probably get hate for it. But it's really just my honest opinion on one of the biggest ongoing Animanga.

The Gojo's Past Arc was fine. It was a bit fast-paced, which looks even worse in retrospective given the Shibuya Arc wasted so much screentime. But otherwise it was an intriguing story and Geto is (or was) by far the most interesting character this show offered me so far.

Meanwhile the Shibuya Incident arc was bad. Very bad. It was essentially the essence of what Haters claim Battle Shonen to be. A bunch of edgy action fights with enough confusion to deviate the viewer's attention from the severe lack of charcter development and plot.

There were far too many characters, including some that weren't even introduced yet. It was impossible to keep up with what was happening, regarding both the situation and the fights themselves. The exsisting characters, and the story itself, were nowhere near the point of development where such a big war Arc should've happend. Most of the fights were so boring because I just didn't care about them one bit. Why would I, if I have no connection to the characters?

There were a few good moments, such as Nanami's death, Sukuna Vs. Jojo and Gojo's battle. They got me invested again, but never for long.

Some of my negative highlights were the unnecessary return of Toji, Megumi pulling Mahoraga out of nowhere and, of course, putting the comic relief (aka Todo Aoi) into an important battle yet again, wasting all that setup for one of the most cringeworthy Idol performances ever!

It's not just the source material that's to blame here. Or at least I suppose so, as I haven't read it yet. Maybe I'll check it out, as I'm somewhat curious. But I'm certain the fight scenes did not take up 80% of the manga, like they did in the anime. In a situation where I was desperatly wating for story content and explanations, I was left hanging again and again.

Finally, the animation is beautiful. But I couldn't care less. Why would that matter to me if filling my second monitor is all the arc was good for? In fact, it leaves a bad taste to see so much effort and budget wasted here.

I dearly hope the next season keeps being inconsistent and won't continue this downward trend. Though given the score and popularity, that would seemingly be just for me :D

Anyway, 4/10 for JJK Season 2.

Wow I hope the main cast can fix this. I am so mad Gojou Satoru is still in prison as well as him being blame for it too. Look like Yuuj Itadorii is going to killed by Jujutsu. Also the blackout area is growing. Can not wiat till they fix in the next season hopefully.

The static part with voices at the background added some tension at the beginning but then it got repetitive and I felt I was listening a podcast instead wtf. Everything is a mess right now suddenly Geto and Gojo were accomplices and ofc they want Yuji dead. Truly the story made a huge dive in this season, so much that it's hard to process even. At the beginning we got Gojo's past but obviously it seems we're gonna need to go even farther in the past than that to understand from where this crazy Kamo dude came from, how it's related to Yuji and Sukuma. Heian age? Wtf. At the end who made it alive and who didn't? Fushiguro? I'm doubting it, do I wait or go straight to the manga? Hard to decide.

Even though I don't like Gojo much, the Hidden Inventory arc wasn't actually too bad and did enough of a job for its runtime but the Shibuya arc fell completely flat for me to be honest. Wasn't much of a fan of season 1 and even though this had higher stakes than the first season, it somehow was more boring and disappointing for me too. At least the finale did a decent enough job in building some curiosity and anticipation towards the next season in due time. Better than the 0 movie but overall, not a season of shounen to write home about from the characters (Nobara, the antagonists, Yuuji) to the pacing itself. Hopefully the environment for animators and the scheduling can be healthier with the announcement of the next season of JJK (alongside the various other projects ongoing with MAPPA at the moment).
@animejas i completely agree , i really liked the experimental animations and visuals , the voice acting and the music but everything else is so boring . The show fails to make the stakes matter ,as every fight is dull and kind dragged out, at least geto's plan was smart as it succeeded but everything else in the show was boring and pointless, why not just kill mahito when you have the chance why wait and not attack geto, fucking snooze fest , the show could have been over in this arc if everyone fought for reals.

It's undeniably a good anime, but just good, not AOTY or peak shonen or whatever.

Despite the fact that many people simp for the MAPPA animation (and it's quite decent), I personally find the fight scenes looking like a motion vomit, half the time it's impossible to understand who's hitting who and what's EXACTLY going on.

Despite there being 47 episodes at this point, characters still feel like strangers to me, I don't know anything about them. Character development is almost non-existent, and only when the character's exposition is "present" is it through flashbacks to then kill off the character.

The music half the time didn't match what was happening on screen and the same ost was constantly overused.

Edit: Also, speaking of this exact episode, nice power point presentation, I guess
@combi2015 finally someone that does not simp for this fucking show. I completely agree the show's ok but where is the character development characters die and i literally dont give a shit because the only things i learn about them is seconds before they die , what even is this show bro.
