Rudeus behaving like an amateur getting spooked by that human sized doll. He just stood there and if not for Zanoba he probably would have been injured

Already better than whole last season, finally the let the characters interact with each other to develop them.

Even though Rudy x Sylphie is still the weakest pair of this show, it's really refreshing to leave impotence arc behind and actually move forward finally. The last season developement was almost nonexistent.

Still, hearing "I'll never leave you" in the anime is a big flag. The best choice - he will make her children and leave, the worse choice - Sylphie dies. She is still to naive and shy for her own benefit and can't stand next to him as equals.

Also, I'm pretty mad he neglected his mother again (and he plans to neglect her even more it seems). She is basically mainquest he evades for way too long.

Not much to do with this episode in particular but I
Made this comment as a reply to the discourse about this series and someone calling it pedophilia:

I mean it's defenitly a valid point and one of the things I majorly dislike about a lot of anime for that matter, though it's not actual "Pedophilia" it's defenitly tiptoeing the line and being mega "sus". The reason it's not actual pedophilia is because it's portraying Teens/Kids that went through puberty as Adults.
Whereas a Pedophile would be attracted to the "Child" part. Whereas what this series does is make Children/Teens way too Adult like even if you consider it's like medieval times and cultures where you are legally an adult from like the age of 12, it's warping reality by making the kids more like adults. Which is kind of the opposite of what a Pedophile would want. That doesn't make it good or okay, but it's not pedophilia because that's deranged on a whole other level, people with actual pedophilia can get attracted to a literal f*ckin baby, exactly because it's not the "normal" sexual things they get attracted to it's quite literally everything that isn't "adult" about a child. Whereas what this and many anime do is "Giving Relatively young individuals, adult features and making them more like adults in general... basically they sexualize teens/children by making like adults" rather then having them be as "child-like" as possible. It's kind of like the line Between Furries and Bestiality... one's attracted to humans with animal features, the other is attracted to the animal itself and to it being as animal like as possible.

That doesn't make it "right" but I suppose it makes it "less wrong" but there has to be a line somewhere.
For example:
You like animal ears and tails or even role play: Sure that's fine nothing wrong with that kind of kinky
You like putting on a full fur suit and being a lot more animal like: Kinda getting weird but still pretty socially acceptable
You want the suit to be as realistic as possible: You are really treading a fine line now
You want to **** an animal: Go to jail do not pass go.
So in this case it would be more like:
You like Girls with small features: Sure nothing wrong with that everybody has their own tastes
You like Girls who look as young an petite as possible: Okay kinda getting weird but still socially acceptable
You like Childish looking Adult Girls as young as possible: You are really treading the line here...
You are attracted to the Children straight up not to Adults or Adult features but to Child features: Go to jail do not pass go.

It's exactly right to compare "Jobless" to classic fantasy. The basis of any real fantasy is a fully developed world. The characters there live by their own rules and laws, they have their own morals, their own system of values. A simple example is the Beast-girls. Rudeus shows them his power and they change their attitude towards him dramatically. A complete world is usually a large one. There are cities, continents, their inhabitants, with their own customs and orders. And most importantly, they're not our contemporaries in a fantasy setting. From the typical kind of fantasy anime - "Shield Hero". It's not a logical world, strange characters and their actions. Naofumi 'works' in his allotment by moving the paper behind the desk. And then he gets helpers. Even though the houses in his village have holes in them. He also seems to have bought the children separately from their parents... There's a lot of other stupid stuff going on. Mc-kun defeating an ancient turtle, then getting spiked by some assassins on the street.
A plausible and logical world, with characters to match, is the basis of fantasy. Plausibility is the author's ability to convince you that what happens in his world is possible. And it is not just about possibility, but also about making everything seem natural and, to some extent, predictable to you, the observer.
There's also such thing called coherence. The narrative is not just a set of 20-minute plots sewn together into a patchwork quilt, but a story that is continuous. Each element of the story is there for a reason. There's a kind of thread that runs through all the plots in the story.
And one important element, time. Good fantasy writers are usually good at building a timeline, and a lot of the action, like travel, takes place over months and/or years. In "Jobless", it's over 15 years of narrative time. Compare that to cheap isekai where the op mc-kun defeats another Maou a few weeks before the academy festival...
There's fantasy and then there's fake.

@BetaMaleUltra There's an obvious mistake. It's supposed to have been a while. Maybe a month or so. Not a year. And, yes, this is a very quick repair. Even in this day and age it would be very expensive and difficult to do. It's more of a 'how I spent the winter' kind of thing. There are often large time skips in "Jobless".
