Forget circumnavigating the world to find Why Man, he isn't even there. Honestly, it's to be expected when you have the voice firing off commands to stone the entirety of the Earth. Don't think they would want to be stoned themselves, so space is the only real alternative. And I suppose if you have one person on the Earth holding a petrification device right next to a speaker the Earth gets swallowed up, maybe?

Don't know how plausible it is to have the crew primed for space travel though. Astronauts go through training to deal with forces outside of Earth, and I don't like the thought of sending Magma to space after the gun episode.

Like that they revived the girl Ibara messed with, beautiful and strong like Kohaku. Let Ibara remain stoned forever.

This is just my speculation, IDK if spoiler or not, but it's possible that Why-Man isn't actually an evil entity. Perhaps he(or maybe they) were trying to cure people including themselves but something went wrong, and they got stuck at the petrification phase? We'll eventually find out, or maybe it's already been revealed in the manga, IDK...

scientist of the week: senku

here are my thoughts from during the episode:

senku is all alone now i dont know what will happen next
he has to revive everyone and then i guess they will get the ship ready to head home unless something insane happens
i guess once they get home they will use the mesuda to heal tsukasa
i wonder if theres anyone who wont be revived
like ibara, moz, or hyoga

chrome is the first one senku revives, he probably should revive yuzuriha too so she can help put ryusui back together, also the episode thumbnail spoiled ukyo being revived

senku is back where he was before taiju revived all the way at the beginning
hes hungry and doesnt have much time to work because he has to survive

senku revived amarillys to help them find food but now all that food is very heavy to carry so they will need a member of the power team

but the food isnt good enough so he revived francois to cook something good

why did ruri truly call? did something happen on the main land? is that why this is the only time theyve been shown?

why did taiju not know senku got married and divorced but francios did?

it looks like mostly everyone is revived now but for some reason nikki looks very different from usual, whats up with her face?

yo and kirisame are still petrified under the ship

they revived kirisame so they could revive ginro and kohaku

kohaku hugging senku was in the opening

THIS IS SO COOL OARASHI VS MAGMA ARM WRESTLING!!!1

i completely forgot kokuyo was on the ship, why did he stay petrified for so long?

WHAT IS THIS SIGNAL? IT SOUNDS LIKE A HUMAN VOICE! IS SOMEONE ELSE OUT THERE?

HOLY CRAP SOMEONE IS TRYING TO ACTIVATE THE MEDUSA
WHAT IS GOING ON?
THEY ARE SO LUCKY THE MEDUSA WASNT CLOSER TO THE SPEAKER OR THE WHY MAN WOULD HAVE WON
HIS POSITION IS CLEAR

THE VOICE OF THE WHY MAN IS SENKUS VOICE
WHAT IS THIS?

the why man is either not human or not on earth if hes trying to petrify the entire planet

why is there an artificial senku voice? whats even the purpose of such a thing!

finally someone is asking the serious question
why is the medusa on this island?
did one of the astronauts do the petrification? these are their decendants after all

soyuz remembers something about the shape of the medusa. what is this? is it valuable?

again nikkis face is all messed up who animated this?

who is this new guy they revived? he looks quite different from when he was a statue

OH MY GOSH THIS IS SO COOL
HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE
ITS RAINING MEDUSAS?

THE ORIGINAL MEDUSA MUST HAVE BEEN ON A SATLLITE AND NOW AFTER MANY YEARS ITS CRASHED DOWN ONTO EARTH AND BROKE APART AND ACTIVATED

i cant remember if it was a theory from matpat or a spoiler from somewhere else but i did hear that the why man was on the moon a long time ago

WAIT... IS SENKU GOING TO GO TO SPACE

"One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

This story makes you appreciate the technological achievements of mankind. It only makes sense that the final goal would be to recreate what's considered our greatest achievement: going to the Moon! I just love how Senku says it so casually, as if building a space rocket is anywhere near as "easy" as building a ship. 😂

We really went from the Stone Age to the Space Age, so to speak, and I love it! And the revelation about the voices being actually synthesized Senku's... does that mean Robo-Senku is the real villain? 😂

If 12 million+ is the diameter, then the petrification device should be in the center of the earth for it to turn everyone in the entire Earth to stone...

No. You need to specify radius of the effect to use the device. Why-man said the diameter of the earth so the petrification blast would cover the entire planet if the device would be anywhere on the surface.

Wholesome episode. The revelation was crazy. Now I'm really curious to know how they will manage to build a space rocket.
Also, I hope our team revived the statues from the bottom of the sea bed. It just feels bad if not so.

episode 20 : goosbumps , goosbumps , goosbumps , damn ending that raising the bars too high.

lol how senku just hear what he wanted to hear from this makujitsu(?) guy and just went off.
though the fact that those "orbs" came from the sky absolutely doesn't answer anything that this arc questioned. as a matter of fact, if this orb had fallen to this island, why there were still people?
also, if those orb are those in charge in petrify the whole world, than shouldn't had senku found at least one nearby japan? yeah i'm aware that nature is moving and all, but at least one should have stayed in one place lol
and also from the fact that in season 1 we saw that the big "blast" came from antartica and wasn't just "small blasts".
oh well i'm asking too many questions that this arc gonna answer anyway i guess (for example, this majitsu(?) guy, if he had been petrified by those orbs, why he have the orb "tattoo" on his arm?)

This Why-man is probably trapped on the moon and his communication is his way of making Senku get there to save him. I just hope there's no trap waiting for Senku up on the moon.

She got him back. If you understand the characters well enough, you'd know she did!

Now that the dust has settled on Ibara and Moz, they can focus on their next target - Why-Man on the moon of all places! Should be fun to watch them go there!

Ok, can we talk on how anticlimatic this episode was when they were unpetrifying the other characters? Especially Kohaku (that wasn't even shown on screen) and Ginro. Like, I really like Dr. Stone, but it's stuff like this that makes me unable to give it a score any higher than a 8. They made quite a big deal of Senku being aloen again last episode, just to ignore that completely this episode, and just revive everyone like it was nothing. It's also breaking something they said earlier in the season, because when they got their infinite revival fluid generator, they clearly said that while they were producing nitric acid, it was still at a slow pace, and that it would take them a while to restore everyone (and that's why they didn't restore more people when they started this "war"), but now they restore everyone in a flash and there's nitric acid for everyone.
And it's kinda weird how Kohaku and Ginro's statues were seperated, like, the opening clearly shows them together, but whatever.
This episode gave us an interesting plot change with the Why man trying to petrify the whole world again, and showing that he has been trying to do it for the past 3700 years, however, I wonder what happened to the petrifying devices that were used at the time of that man that they revived in the end of the episode. And apparently Why man is on space, which explains how he wasn't catched on the radius of the petryfing beam. But I'm not sure I like the idea of going to the moon... Like, it's going to be impossible for them to build a rocket ship, like, it's just starting to become way too unreasonable at this point.

Anyways, what really bothered me the most was the emotionless episode that we got after that last episode. Also, it has been 3 years since the events of the 1st episode, and we didn't get a single sign that the characters are getting older? Senku must be around 18 years old now, no?

So enemy is on the Moon? Aliens? Illuminati? Entire power of humanity (United states and couple other nations I gess) were able to move there few times and Senku wants to go there from stone world. Alright this show just lost me.

There is not a shred of doubt that the hard-fought battle is the most difficult and painful one that Senku and the Science Kingdom have been in. The victory, then, is even sweeter as a result. They finally have the Medusa, one of the petrification devices.

LMAO Chrome had a valid crashout there upon seeing Perseus' machineries being in a mess. That's weeks' worth of maintenance that needed to be done.
Though at long last, nobody is standing in their way any longer... The Science Kingdom's Perseus crew is revived as a whole and more. With Ibara gone, Soyuz now take his rightful place as the master of the island; therefore, by extension, this Island is annexed by the Science Kingdom.

Ginro is back the way he usually is, his mortal would have completely healed, and after weeks of being in the infiltration team and petrified, Kohaku finally got her well-deserved reunion with Senku with a hearty hug right in front of everyone else. If even his presence comforts her, I know for sure that their chemistry is the best out of anyone else's. Kohaku x Senku supremacy! No exchange of words is required; their hearts and aspirations beat as one.

Now for the scary bits...
It's incredible how Why-Man managed to intercept Senku's radio transmission that was sent from a mobile radio. Why-Man managed to do that and used his voice as a sample to synthesise an audible command meant to activate the medusa... A command of the UTMOST horror...

Twelve million eight hundred thousand meters. One Second

A command meant to envelope the Earth (most of it) in another petrification doom, but this time, without any survivors.

The OST, the suspense and the thrill of it all, Why-Man's first encounter and this one are some of the most petrifying scenes in Dr. Stone. The fact that it used Senku's voice made it even more sinister. I remember years ago when this chapter came out and thinking that Senku might be the ultimate final villain. That'd be an extreme plot twist!

Alas, Ryusui is right. The how shall be explored later. What the team must focus on first is the why, who and where. The last part being none other than the fucking Moon.
It's time for this primitive Stone World to be graced by the technology of space travel, once again... This is thrilling, GET EXCITED!

damn those are some mysteries so look forward to.

so there are countless amount of devices on the ground huh. are they all rusted tho?

that aside lets talk about that kirisame girl's outfit. lmaoo ts is see through.

so, the next mission gonna be the moon?

that's gonna take some time so i don't think they'll the able to travel there, unless they finds an spaceship left behind by the enemy.

and also seems like enemy got a huuuuuge radio wave reciever to catch senku's voice from that tiny antenna on the phone

The war with the petrification kingdom has ended and the science kingdom is getting de-petrified! It's great to see everyone moving about and speaking again. That shady communication Ruri got turning out to be a vocaloid esque voice of Senku trying to re-petrify the entire globe is one scary reveal!

Great episode.I'm glad everyone finally got freed from petrification (•‿•) That voice is really mysterious. So is the petrification device some kind of biological weapon? I never expected the enemy to be on the moon, so Ibara isn't the real enemy after all. Also, the fact that Ed is colored is a great detail.
