Such a goofy case, but probably the only one so far that seemed the most straight forward. Wait so are the Hand Collector's own hands in the fridge?
@Kaguyachinchin No, they weren't. The fridge only had three pairs of hands, of the three mentioned victims in Aichi Perfecture. So Yamane-san simply disposed the Hand Collector's hands somewhere.

I love the Spitz role in this ep. Although the reasoning of the crime solution was quite lame i think xp

I'm losing my patience with this Isshiki dude. Guy knows and does nothing, except taking insults left and right and screaming his lungs out over every little thing.

Also what kinda case was this lol? That man really did go and staged a crime just because he was afraid his wannabe perfectionist superior wouldn't give him a headpat if he failed to handcuff the culprit... what???????? No, just what lol????

This is just them trying to make it look like a mystery for the sake of it.

A serial case on the loose, and the super-skilled Eagle Eye Kawasemi is one of Toto's fans, and he's quite the eagle-eyed fashionista who demands perfection, and Amamiya has enough experience of him that she has an episode with him and 2 in the past...and not on good terms.

Kawasemi with his right-hand man Yamane, Toto is literally easily glossed over. And Ron...has to parade in a wizard-like suit being a clown just to hide his real self to aid Toto. The serial murder consisting of the culprit, only known as the Hand Collector, and both detective and right-hand man once were close to solving the case and arresting the culprit...which ended up being the victim in the now-building case.

Ron is clearly goofing around, which Kawasemi doesn't appreciate, but when it comes to who catching the culprit, Toto will be the final victor, based on his actions alone. The thing is, Yamane is so frightened about his missing button...that Ron using it as the toy platypus's eye, it's Spitz who has already infiltrated his place and determined that the victim is indeed the culprit with the 3 sets of hands. So then, Kawasemi allowing Toto to explain the case: a case of self-suicide, and it all stemmed from Yamane finding out the bird tattoo on his arm, which was an indicator enough from losing his handcuffs, so him losing his button is not his first rondo at being like this, though the pressure of being with one of the elite detectives got the better of Yamane to commit the crime instead of assisting with the case.

Kawasemi admitted that Toto needs someone to showcase his ability, and Ron was that partner to shine a light on him. That's how detectives work, with their fated partner.

The detective work has been the weakest part of the show, and this episode was the worst of them so far.

- This police officer had a suspect die during pursuit (which is not the worst thing in the world, I think), but went on to conceal the man's death (which is just morally and legally unacceptable behavior).
- He lied to his partner and lied in his report, which is at minimum a fireable offense.
- Then he hid the body (which is a crime) and mutilated the body (which is just horrific and of questionable mental state and character)
- He staged a crime scene, completely from scratch, with the explicit purpose of deceiving the police (also a crime).
- The cherry on top is the fact that the police would have wasted a potentially enormous amount of resources to catch a serial killer that was in fact already dead and no longer a threat to society.

He did ALL this because of the pressure he was feeling at work? Even if I perform enough mental gymnastics to believe his motives, this is completely inexcusable and illegal on so many levels.

Then his partner feels bad about the pressure he put on him and asks to work together again in the future? While Toto and Ron look on in sadness over sad music?

If anything, his partner would likely be investigated himself and reprimanded for letting all of this happen under his watch.

I understand the show is meant to be about a wacky genius detective's shenanigans, but this time it went in a completely unbelievable direction with extremely questionable morals.

@perseii

I agree. for a detective show it seems very weak.

Kamoo and Toto meet an equal in Kawasemi. Even Kawasemi acknowledges that Amamiya got a good guy in Toto.

The pressure must've been insane to go as far as to cut the hands of the killers just because he left the handcuffs.
