Great episode to start the new arc.
Especially the serious meeting in the Infinity castle where we finally got introduced to all the Upper Moons made me even more excited as I already was before. I really like all of their designs, although we've seen Akaza and Douma before. Unfortunately, it looks like Muzan is starting to lose his patience. Still, given the strength of the Upper Moons, it's still frightening to see how easily Muzan could kill each and every one of them.
He mentioned that the Upper Moons so far have been unable to annihilate the Ubuyashiki family, who we know are in charge of the Demon Slayer Corps, nor find Blue Spider Lily, where I'm not exactly sure who right now is meant by that. Okiayu Ryoutarou, who lends his voice to the Upper Moon One Kokushibou, fits perfectly, although I can't deny that the first moment I heard his voice I immediately had to think of Kuchiki Byakuya. It was easy to see that there's a strained relationship between Akaza, Douma and Kokushibou. Akaza in particular seems to have the urge to kill both of them, but was put in his place fairly quickly afterwards. However, since Douma seems to have a sadistic streak, he naturally had to harp on about it a bit more and even dubbed Akaza an subordinate.
With the conclusion of the meeting, Gyokko and Hantengu were sent together on a mission about which we have no further information at this time and our poor boy Douma got left alone by everyone. Surely we'll see him again soon enough.
Tanjirou truly is the spitting image of his father. Still, I wonder why he had this dream about his father and the mysterious Yoriichi in the first place. I was really shocked to hear that Tanjirou had been in a 2 month coma and at the same time glad that he finally able to wake up. Even if I was well aware that he, Zenitsu and Inosuke were in a pretty bad state, I didn't expect it to be to such an extend. At least Zenitsu recovered rather fast and was already back onto missions. On the other hand, Inosuke just casually was sticking to the ceiling when Tanjirou woke up and in combination with Goto's yelling (sorry but I can't unhear Saitama) resulted in a very funny scene.
The moment Tanjirou's sword got mentioned I had a very bad feeling haha. The letters of Tanjirou's swordsmith Hotaru were the perfect confirmation of what might await him later on.
The security measures for the transport to the swordsmith village were very surprising. Blindfolds as well as ear plugs and for Tanjirou's particularly developed sense of smell even nose plugs had to be used. Likewise, the number of people who transported him there shows how careful the Demon Slayer Corps are. Once there, Tanjirou introduced himself to the village chief, who appears to be searching for Tanjirou's lost swordsmith, Hotaru. I wonder what exactly happened there. It was also surprising that when Tanjirou wanted to apologize for his broken sword, the chief pointed out that it was Hotaru's fault for handing Tanjirou a broken sword in the first place. Does that mean Tanjirou could go all out if his sword were of better quality?
Being on your way for the hot spring and getting welcomed by such a giant cleavage from Mitsuri must be a dream for every man. *Cough* However, I'm still not entirely sure why Genya began breaking his teeth one by one. At least nothing has changed in his lousy character, even when Tanjirou tried building a bond to him.
Nezuko has to be one of the cutest things I've ever seen in anime media. It was absolutely adorable when Mitsuri started tickling her. The reason why Mitsuri joined the Demon Slayers caught me so off guard that I could hardly believe what she was saying. This surely is a whole other level of approach to finding a significant other lol.
I was eager to see if the other Hashira Muichirou would get screen time and he actually got, even if it was just towards the very end. He seemed to have some argument with a kid. Even stranger was the other person Tanjirou saw besides them. This man looked like Yoriichi, however that's not possible, is it?
I'm so excited for what might happen in the upcoming episodes. Witnessing the previous seasons I'm sure Ufotable will once again blow us away with insane animation. No to forget the new OP also sounds splendid and fitting for the Swordsmith Arc.
