Ain’t no way people actually think this show is bad. Stunning first 3 episodes with amazing visuals and really cool characters so far. The only people who could possibly be mad at this are butthurt fans of the original that can’t fathom the idea of a re-imagining of the story that they’re nostalgic for. Just because it’s different doesn’t automatically make it bad. This show is objectively great so far, and as someone with no previous Trigun experience I think they’re nailing it.
Unfortunately, it’s just a reality that butthurt Trigun fans are going to hate this because it doesn’t follow the Trigun manga or the original anime to a T.

Honestly, I’m enjoying this anime WAY more than the original series.

funnier how 90s Trigun wasn't even a faithful adaptation of the original manga.

People are sleeping on Stampede so bad, cause this is fucking amazing Only 3 episodes in and it's literally already better than the entirety of the original 26 episode run. ( not even just animation, but just the way the story is unfolding, and how much more serious it is while still retaining it's comedy elements here and there )

Honestly this is a serious contender for being the number 1 best anime this season, competing against DanMachi and Vinland Saga.

Can't wait for more dude !

This show is really getting better with each episode. I'm glad they kept the episode violent because if everyone lived it wouldn't have felt as meaningful. The visuals for Millions Knives was cool.

This is objectively probably the best series this season but people be still whining and nitpicking. I feel sorry for you.

But anyway, I hope the folks in the series will understand one day, that they would be fckd anyway even if Vash wasn't there. Knives and co. didn't come for him.

Well that was fucked up. Knives is the most psychopathic character I've seen.

13 min in Knives is meant to be walking down the stairs, except the animation has him walking in one place. If they're doing CGI, they can at least get rid of that sort of thing.

This episode looked really nice. The story is much more fast paced than the original and a lot darker imo . Knives is creepy and brutal and his actions fall on Vash as he is blamed and run out of town .

While the visuals were awesome and the episode was well-animated and exciting, as someone who has not seen much of the original nor read the manga I found myself very confused and not in a good way. Clearly there is a lot more going on than they've explained to us, but they didn't dangle a single thread for the viewer to latch on to in order to try and come up with theories as to whats going on.

Why does Vash's brother have super powers? Why can blades destroy rocks? Why does Knives have god-like powers? What are his goals?

It would have been nice to have at least one of these questions given us a partial answer... something we could grab onto and think about as we wait for more content. Instead, it all just happened and it felt kinda ridiculous frankly.

This isn't exactly a faithful adaptation.

If anything, it's even less faithful than the 98 one. The 98 one had to take liberties because the manga wasn't finished. This one just threw out the manga. Faithfulness isn't a good argument for quality in this scenario.

They gave you threads in episode 1 and 2. Vash and knives are not from this planet, and somehow knives was the one to bring the ship down. So there’s the threads. And then in this episode knives says to vash that he can’t even control his gate yet.

It hasn’t explained it yet, but those are the threads to grasp onto.

Mm, I'm enjoying the new adaptation but I think I'm going to hold off until it's complete to watch it.

The direction of the last few episodes have flowed through to the point that it's felt more like watching a movie chopped into 20-ish minute chunks rather than a series, and while that isn't a bad thing per se I think it's probably going to be more enjoyable to watch from beginning to end or at least one full 'scene' arc at a time. Or who knows, maybe they'll be putting out movie-length cuts after the series is complete, wouldn't surprise me.

So, back when I watched Trigun I found Knives to be pretty scary. But, this took it to a whole other level, that is beyond scary. How can one not have their mouth wide open watching this insane crazy psychopath just slice through the town like it was a cucumber about to be added to a salad?

Let's go, another episode of Vash goofing around aimlessly........ oh. What a dark, cruel episode where a lot of people dies and the city get destroyed in utter chaos, this part really shows how dystopia shows can really get unstettling. I watched because I was alright for the first two episodes, but now I see a goal and a reason for this anime, and it sounds cool. The animation was spotless and I noticed how much I forgot it was in 3D by how smooth it was, it was just portraying the story happening, and it did it very well. (Also I've heard that this episode really went far from the original manga, so that will be interesting to see in the end what those old anime watchers have to say about it and if they will do another Classroom of the Elite), nonetheless, gg Orange

Same here.

I like the retelling, the darker tone of this episode, and the changes of events.

However, one thing I was a bit disappointed in that episode is that Vash isn't as subtly proactive in ensuring that no one dies as in the original ; a lot of death this episode, and none seemed to have bothered, at least in the instant, Vash too much. Of course he takes off with a smile, his strong mental resiliance was always a thing, but I believe we are missing a bit out on the pain Vash feels when a living creature dies. I have a very big soft spot for the duality in his character (no kill everyone is lovable VS actual badass gunman) and I'm afraid this won't be as fleshed out.

Loved E.G. Mine redesign, really looking forward to discover the others.

This escalated very quickly indeed. Episode 3 and Knives is already going medieval on people.

This is a good anime, regardless of if you watched the original or not.

it's a meme 😭 essentially it just means cinematic excellence, like the highest quality of film/media! i used it a bit exaggeratingly, but i do think orange produces some of the highest quality cg anime in the industry rn. i could go into a whole essay of why specifically but it boils down to them having good art direction & technical skill

Honestly, 3 episodes in and I'm enjoying this quite a bit more than the original show. I was never a die-hard fan, so any changes were never going to upset me. I like that they've introduced Vash and his brother so early on in this version. I believe in the original show we got that stuff more towards the end? It's been a while, so my memory's a bit fuzzy.

Whilst the animation is amazing, Studio Orange haven't topped Houseki no Kuni just yet in my book. Although to be fair, I think that's due to the gems just looking so darn beautiful with all the hair effects haha. Hard to get prettier than that.

People be losing a lot of arms this episode.

Actually starting to like how they reinvented the story, including the removal of the loud bubbly girl (too loud for me, I admit, the old drunkard is much quieter), and I was fairly impressed with the animation of Knives's weapons, the scene certainly had the impact and gravity, but Vash's design still kills me inside a little every time I have to lay my eyes upon it...
