AI "art" is not art. I view all forms of art form a traditional sense.

It's off-putting and I don't like it. And people trying to sell AI art are mega cringe.

As an artist I find it technically impressive but not that useful. I played around with stable diffusion for hours but I could neither generate something with interest nor "improve" or render any of my own art. SD is just an open source generative AI thats still in development, not nearly as strong as DALL-E, nevertheless, I think for the time being AI is not really a replacement for artists. The future can sneak up on you quick though.

I consider it an interesting tool but I feel that there is no beauty in getting a final product through it, and the training dataset of such systems is questionable. After all, I consume art to see a vision. The sensations and impressiveness of looking at AI art are not there, they are just pleasing pictures with inhuman decisions and often bad anatomy, as the black box is not aware of the subject that is reproducing. Realistically though, it will kill jobs in some areas, that is for sure

I don't think it's art because (in my opinion) pictures devoid of conscious intent, creativity, AND perspective are just pictures, not "art"

until ai can come up with a better anime or game character, but still human talent will never be inferior. just like humans, falling in love with personality instead of looks. so now uhm, human art sounds awkward to say. inb4 terminator anime.

I've enjoyed playing around with it, but it is honestly pretty overrated at the moment.
It's only good at drawing abstract random things, or portraits of solo people.
It fails at any sort of complexity. Why do you think so many of these AI "artworks" only have one person present in the shot? Or that they only show simple poses? It's just not very good at anything else.
I don't think 99% of artists have anything to worry about for a while. And by the time AI does get there, it won't be only artists losing their jobs.

AI art is awesome and it is part of the future of art itself. I think it could be implemented as a tool for artists.... like help creating new, even more awesome art

As a young aspiring artist, I've been fascinated by the ways in which AI is transforming the world of art and creativity. That's why I wrote an e-book called "How AI is Taking Over Artists" which explores this topic in depth.

If you're interested in learning more about how AI is changing the way we create and consume art, I think you'll find my book to be an informative and thought-provoking read. Its free to read on my Instagram and I'll link the e-book PDF down below. It's also available for purchase on amazon and other book sites if you're interested.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message, and I hope you'll consider checking out my e-book "How AI is Taking Over Artists". I look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas on this topic!

I see it as a win for someone like me who sucks at drawing because I would be able to get AI to draw things I can't.

Speaking of which is there any freeware that can generate art of my favorite 2D characters? I'd really love to try it.

I don't see any problem at all with it, if anything it's freaking amazing.
A lot of really forgotten girls is finally getting a huge amount of fanart, someone that loves fanart of character i think this is great.
People are implying that Ai art destroies work for artist.
But how  can a Ai that creates Raikou and Atago fanart  etc destroy work for artist that have never thought about them or will ever think about them.

I think it's great and I'm happy that girlsi love is getting good art finally.

AI art is a remarkable part of art's future, offering artists valuable tools to create even more astonishing artworks. With the assistance of AI, artists can explore new horizons and expand their creative boundaries, as seen in the art from aimirrormodapk.com.

Some of it looks pretty cool. But most I've seen doesn't really look like the character they are supposed to represent.

Until AI can actually create its own work without pulling from other sources, I'm not impressed. I honestly don't get why people think AI can replace artists and writers so easily, at least at this point. People think movies and shows are lacking creativity now...Imagine entire scripts that are basically just a poorly constructed amalgamation of various writing styles likely pulled from prexisting scripts.

As for the "art", it's only really good for creating hilarious abominations.

In my opinion AI art looks nowhere near as good as 'real' art, so I'm just not very interested in it for now :)

It certainly helpful to me.. I can do a coloured sketch and let ai finish it and make it look like it was drawn by the likes of sakimichan..

Usually exaggerated, samey, soulless. Very very wrong at making fingers, knees, armpits, and also very limited to some expressions. Eyes can look wrong very easily as well.

It seems fine for background art though.

Typically overdone, monotonous, and lacking character. It performs poorly at rendering fingers, knees, armpits, and has limited expression options. Eyes can appear incorrect easily. However, it's acceptable for background art.

It's a thing... that's my opinion. It's fun to mess with AI image generators, but even my favorite AI generated images...

...are basically just "Huh, that's cool", followed by me forgetting about it. Either that, or I just make idiotic meme slop with it.

@aiartapk And having current AI rephrase a couple sentences does nothing to improve them.

Highlighting this post, but I've also used ChatGPT to rephrase documents for my company's ISO 9001:2015 certification. As much as it can iterate on human writing, it is yet to improve it.

The operative word is "yet" ofc.

I had a huge argument with someone in FG about this, so here's the post that explains my logic

https://myanimelist.net/forum/?goto=post&topicid=2164029&id=71281791

But in all seriousness, at the end of the day... it should not matter WHERE the art comes from, but how it makes you feel.

There is an ol' trick in the book that goes like this:

"If two perfectly identical art pieces are side by side, one made by a person and one by AI... how can you tell the diffence?"

The answer is... you can't. Which means you're not giving any value to the art itself, only to the fact that a human made it.

Basically, people tend to Virtue Signal about things they don't actually care about, but about the things that bother their feelings.

I love it because I get to see a lot sexual images of male characters that barely has any or zero NSFW content made by real artists

I especially enjoy it when used for Yaoi Shota and Yaoi Incest

I think some can be ok, but they certainly lack the care & attention to detail that comes from regular (good) fanart.

Like I recently discovered somebody made ai arts of my waifu Rin Tokikaze - which although I was happy about, as artworks of her are rarer than hen's dentures. But they also have literally dozens of errors, not only do they not really look like her, but they also don't match up with corresponding pictures 😔

It disgusts me ethically the way it is used right now, especially as an artist. BUT I can see it evolving in the future to help artists and animation studios, I mean do you know how annoying it is to make background characters? In the future artists will be able to ask someone to make them a personal AI program that they will teach using their art style to get through annoying parts of the process which are there only because they are needed, also studios training AI can help with overwork of animators, it can be good as long as it complements artists with their premmision
