| Not sure how to feel about this. It's not a bad first episode, I liked it, but idk. I did enjoy it a bit more than I thought I would but yeah idk. I'll give it another episode or two before deciding to drop or not. Something about it just rubs me the wrong way and I'm not really sure what it is tbh |

So this feels like Gunslinger Girl, but less believable and with tone issues. I don't see how all their agents aren't compromised with how sloppily they conduct themselves, and on top of it drones tracking their movements. Don't buy non-lethal bullets that punch though car doors either, I know cars aren't even bullet resistant but that is 100% going though someone still.
| @Rakshal Wait you're so right. It's Gunslinger Girl, but somehow less believable, has tone issues, and characters that I think I'd get tired of very quickly. I think I enjoyed Gunslinger Girl just a bit more than this. 100% agree with you on the whole lethal bullets thing too lmao how did a non-lethal bullet go through a car door, but not through that guy's body? Didn't she shoot some other guys like straight on too? There was nothing to stop the bullets for them, so how does that work? @HiljainenSipuli Maybe it's just because I've had a long day but I swear I feel the same way lol I'm not a fan of her energy, or even the other girl's energy either. |

| There's a lot to unpack from this episode, but I'll try to contain myself 😅 "Find the hacker and kill him", the DA boss commands post-hacking. If even non violent, petty crimes and misdemeanors warrant an execution, where does the DA draw the line, assuming they have one? Would shop lifting a chewing gum or stealing a loaf of bread also warrant a kill? In such an apparently absolutely zero tolerance - solely capital punishment system what's the point of the police, prosecutors, judiciary and prisons? I assume all those exist since police does exist, and those by definition coexist. Setting aside the lack of morality of such a system, how does the DA know they're always right when they first shoot and ask questions... never? Takina almost killed those yakuza guys because she thought that coffee (which was delivered by her colleague, so she should have shot her too...) was drugs. Mere assumptions and preconceptions appear to be enough to warrant multiple kills. On that note why/how can the bloody yakuza exist in such a world? We saw Lycoris girls execute in public someone about to attack (or threaten) some people with a knife, and yet they're cool with the yakuza? Last but not least how can non lethal bullets (apparently blanks filled with a liquid that turns into red mist when shot) turn a car door into Emmental cheese but barely scratch people? Just those for now, off the top of my head. The day is still young, but the Lycoris world will probably struggle to make any sense to me... |
