Yes. I gave it a 7 so I liked it but it felt really weird, the show was kind of a mess and the overall story and all that important stuff of the show never felt like it had a clear path but it was pretty entertaining so I enjoyed it.
I personally like the show. I'm not saying it is a masterpiece or anything like that but it's an interesting story with lovable characters (also has great waifus just saying). It has good animation and music and is fun to watch throughout. It's a fun show that might be worth your time if you think you will enjoy it. Also it's not another fucking isekai anime. I like isekai but like is the perfect example of how to make an isekai story without it being a fucking isekai.
Not really. It had a lot of potential, but a lot of them were either unfulfilled or cut short, through constant character death and untouched world building. From my point of view, he wanted to make the anime/manga realistic but it felt like it was edgy for the sake of it.

I love the way it ends
Call me crazy π€ͺ
But I do love the ending
The ending is one of the most realistic endings and Ig that's why the anime community can't accept it πππ,they all want fairy tale endings where the protagonist and his mates goes, fights, defeats the villain and then the MC ends up with his love interest.
Godallg said: I liked the show the anime mans opinion is trash
He behaves like a god damn elitist, and when the whole community hates on some anime he just goes with the hype. Don't remember seeing any unpopular opinion of his own.
Tatsumi - Protag who just wants to help his village
Akame - She has a sword
Leone - chick with boobs, and overtly trying to flaunt her sexuality stereotype
Bullat - buff guy who's gay (terrible way of handling the gay character trope btw by just having him be all up in Tatsumi's face)
Sheele - Neet
Mine - Tsundere + loli
Natasha - Bootleg Nick Fury
Susanoo - He can cook
Chelsea - (Only character I liked to some degree because she had a personality)
Seras Obquitas- Human contradiction and trying to accomplish that seems so nice but evil character type
Lubbock - Smart-ass
Esdeath- Psychopath
If I left anyone out they were so forgettable that they weren't even worth listing
-generic and baffling plot
Alright so we'll just have this typical assassin guild trope and they have to take back the kingdom. Who'd controlling the kingdom? A UBH (Ugly Bastard Hentai) villain and a puppet king. Why there's no revolt, baffles me. Answer might be plot convenience.
-irrelevant side characters and main cast
About 95% of the cast are killed off and very few deaths make sense. Most of the characters didn't even contribute much
-Plot doesn't care to explain itself
Leone dies from a small wound around her stomach in the final episode, yet she can heal herself. This makes no sense.
There is nothing redeemable about the show, it does nothing new, incredibly pedestrian story telling, and relies on shockvalue to fall back on its characters.
Killing off all your characters is not edgy, nor creative. Especially, when your characters are so bad that I openly laugh during the "emotional" scenes. You can have an edgy show with well-written characters, and you can kill off most of your cast. Just look at F/Z. Akame ga kill wasn't the first to do it, nor was it the first to execute it so poorly.
Mirai Nikki (Granted, more arguments can be made for the former, but there's still plenty wrong with Mirai Nikki) and more importantly Akame ga kill are both shit shows that explain how low your standards are (and there's nothing wrong with that) if you liked them. I understand why beginner Anime fans would not see the flaws (since they're still in that psychedelic-trance like state of mind where they're amazed at all the Anime they watch), but when you watch more and more Anime or anything really your standards get higher and then you can reflect. With Akame ga kill, the quality of the show throughout is so apparently bad that it can't be refuted.
Anyway, this thread is going to get locked anyhow π€·βοΈ

There’s definitely people who like it, I do. I’ve seen many people say it’s great. I enjoyed it, but it’s a pretty bad show to me lol
I have fond memories of certain moments and have watched it twice.
Even if the story wasn’t planned out too well and nothing really overall happened I absolutely cried for like 30 mins after it ended. They made it easy to get attached
Yeah. A show doesn't have to be a masterpiece to be enjoyable. Sometimes, shows are enjoyable despite being flawed (and sometimes because). Akame ga Kill is one of my brother's favorites, and even he'll admit that it objectively isn't that great.
As for fanbase, I can see what you mean. Akame is MASSIVELY popular, yet I don't really hear anyone talk about it. Could be because it's one of those shows everyone already saw back when they first started watching anime.
Although I liked a lot of this anime, there were things that could have been done better with how they wrote the story and I also was bothered that a certain someone that promised to live, died at the end, so that made the rating lower.
Overall, I’d say it is an enjoyable anime as a Watch Once, I would not rewatch this anime.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.
I love this show. I think the problem is that the Anime of Akame ga kill is now 8 years old. Many people which have seen it have already forgotten about it.
The first few episodes were great but then it started falling off a cliff. The death of characters felt forced, good dialogue was nonexistent, and the ending was woeful. No "big" scene either, even the fight against the emperor felt rushed and was an awful scene.
Probably good if you just started watching anime, but ingeneral, kinda bad. The ending was bad, it felt kinda rushed, character deaths are kinda forced
"But with a twist ending like this,
I think we can all agree this ended up
being a very interesting mystery"
I really enjoyed it.I give it a solid 10 for me it was just the perfect anime alot of people do not like the ending but I even like the ending of this anime.
Tyraq said: Apparently many people find it "cool and emotional"
I don't know why but I liked this show and it had it's cool moments and emotional moments at least for me. Was it the best of the best? No, it could have been better but I still like it for what it is.
nwekobra said: I realy liked the Show, the ending too, i gave it a 9
I gave it 9 too. Ending kinda shocked me but I don't read manga or LN or whatever so I don't know if it's that bad but as an anime only it wasn't so bad.
