Gugu's story doesn't hit like the earlier ones for me, its still good though. I wonder if there is more tragedy incoming.

Dude, this was so hard to watch... That old man is a sick fuck. He experimented on a severely injured child and he acts like it's nothing.
And all that people, except for the farmer, what the hell is wrong with them?? Calling "monster", being scared and bullying a kid who obviously had an accident. Really fucked up.
Gugu is such a good and strong boy, he deserves the world!

Heh, Rean now working and living in their place. I wonder what happening to her parents, or why they gave up their precious little girl in those shady booze place like that. There must be a secret behind Rean's decision. Maybe its related to her incurable injury?

About Gugu body secret. That booze old man did something nasty to Gugu's old body, wth? Stored liquor under his belly? Thats why the belly looks so bloating. However, its maybe the reason behind his comeback lives. Its prevented Gugu body to rotten, or something with the same case, i dunno the exact shit. But, anyways, if its related to the fire and some oped frame, he might be able to created fire, with his belly-booze and becoming his strength and be a cool monster, like Fushi. Furthermore, it will achieved Gugu's request over Fushi's body and the fires. Well, something telling me that its the sign of a bad thing happen to their peaceful lifes from the next on. I hope i am wrong.

Because when you look at how Gugu struggle to survived as a human, and shit comes toward him over and over again, and the poor boy finally lost his human confidence. Then, its the immortal orb whose saved him and already learned about how important Gugu on its own growth progression. I don't wanna see them get a bad shit again, for the sake of mama Marchi. Hooray for monster brotherhood!

aa the beginning of this episode kinda hurted even though it's supposed to be playful. gugu wasn't treating fushi as a person, more as an immortal object there. unintentionally of course, he even said that fushi should say something if it bothers him. can't believe the reason there's a lot of different things abt gugu physically is because the damn gramps experimented on him.. messed up. but !! gugu threw away his mask, good for him. also met his shit brother who.. is doing in even worse condition than him, maybe he'll be redeemable or something

Sad episode...Gugu was resented by the other people...yet still he continued to work for a living...the part where he gave his brother that ring was so touching..he still cared for his brother...when he was about to get kidnapped Fushi came to his rescue...they really have a bond..

Did Fushi and Gugu leave boozeman's place? The last scene felt like they ditched the place and went on a journey.

I really enjoyed this episode.

That was a really sweet ending. Gugu is quite the unfortunate man. The reunion with his brother was quite disappointing to say the least, and I wish we got more out of that unprecedented event. Fushi is slowly becoming more and more human which is quite nice to see.

So that's why Gugu's belly grew eh, sake storage. Should I laugh? Idk man. That part with Gugu's brother was so ironic. He left Gugu to live a better life and yet he was at Gugu's mercy.

No dude you don’t have to laugh, it's not supposed to be funny—in the manga it was portrayed as a serious scene. I don't know why the anime made it appear as if it's a comedic scene when it's supposed to be be serious 😔

Honestly, didn't think it was funny, or even suppose to be funny. If it ended up funny it's probably the cork pop sound and the silliness of the idea that a drink is coming out of you. After all Gugu was clearly emotionally devastated by this. It wasn't like it was trying to be like a comedy act with Sake man being the straight man and Gugu being the funny man though I can see how the scene could accidentally draw parallels to this with the sake man being absolutely emotionally indifferent to Gugu's plight.
Honestly, I think this and the fact that this seems like a non-comedic show helps me know that it is never trying to be humorous or at least is not trying to make you laugh. Not sure if the manga has any specific things that make sure that it doesn't come across funny but I do know that when reading something, it sometimes can be weaker as a medium for comedy. This means something that could be unfunny while reading may be funny while watching.

Nah, I thought that it might be that as well initially but the booze man's later dialog that's along the lines of "I wanted to try it and didn't think I would ever get the chance" paired with all his comments about making money off of Gugu's booze suggests that the booze man most likely did it out of self interest and not to help Gugu.

lol, almost every anime is predictable. Every artform is a derivative of one or multiple other art forms. If you get to caught up in the predictability of it all then you won't enjoy it as much.
In the end everyone dies, this is simply the curse of being immortal.

I wont say it wont get repetitive, it may. However it takes about 6 poor repetitions before I start loosing interest. Currently, I would say, even if every side character dies (which is kinda spoiled by the intro and outro) it's still giving a decent amount of time to get attached to the characters.

I hope you can enjoy it for what it is. It definitely is one of my favorites because of how well the first episode was for me. Sure, nothing has beaten the first episode but that's kinda how anime is. Once you know the mood and theme the rest of the series events can easily be predicted in how they play out.
The parts I enjoy are those that tend to be unique. In this anime you got a ball that transforms into stuff in a relatively normal world with hints of a bigger picture later on. I am most curious to see if those that are dead are really dead. There is a possible vector that exists with them alive but it's seeing if the show will take that vector that is the experience. What type of person will Fushi be? How will each experience change him? So far all the experiences have led to Fushi growing but what if he gets a bad experience or learns the form of an antagonist?
For me, watching a series decide it's path is one of the things I greatly enjoy about watching shows. focusing on the things you don't know are much more interesting than focusing on what you already can predict.

Being Gugu is suffering bro. What the fuck.
Kid doesn't even shit that he gets, what a sad fucking life. I feel bad for Gugu.
But Pioran is truly a guardian for Fushi, teaching him humanity, and how to form bonds.
Especially with Gugu - his brother. And now they're back together, I love them.

It is meant to be predictable lol.
The story is more of a character study of how an immortal learns to be human.
He is immortal, of course he will see people die, that's the point - immortality sucks ass.
The series just takes it one step further with rubbing salt in the wound by constantly reminding you that Fushi takes on their forms and CAN'T forget them.
The show is more of a drama on how this character changes people's lives and how they change his.
I am really not sure what people expect from this show lmao.

I really want Rean to find out Gugu’s face got destroyed because he saved her. I feel bad for the kid having to see the girl he likes trying to flirt with Fushi all while he’s going through the bullying and trauma alone. It was cool to see him give the ring to his brother but I expected her to find it and realize, guess we’ll see in the future!

I don't know if you understood or not but Rean doesn't know that Gugu found her dog and saved her from that log. Her seeing his face wouldn't change anything.

If Gugu does not apologise to Fushi I'm done with him.
I'm sympathetic with him about crap he has to go through. But he was experimenting on Fushi, ignoring physical pain he was causing him (as well as not considering mental abuse). They even said Fushi has to stay with them and not show off his powers because they would capture him and rage war over him, all that after escaping from prison where they experimented on Fushi.
And then Gugu gets angry because Old Drunkard experimented on Gugu while saving his life (which is shitty move, don't take me wrong, he should remove it asap and undo all other stuff if he did any)

Yep, Gugu's life kinda sucks doesn't it. Turned into a sentient brewery on the old man's whim, then unable to get any sort of work because of his ruined face. That being said, was that scene with the ring the sole reason we spent so much time setting up the brother's existence last week? Was that "pay-off" really worth the effort of giving Gugu a brother at all?

I guess Fushi has now joined Gugu in running away? How many more episodes until Gugu is killed off to try and force more emotions out of the viewer, I wonder?

People fear the unknown and despise the irregular. But with a little bit of kindness and courage to approach makes that difference of bettering a life.
Gugu has been my favorite in the story for a while now. The way he burns and shines the brightest while being Fushi's brother and Rean's protector makes him more than just a man. He matured faster even than his own brother since he had that kindness in him. The best boi in all.
When someone asks me why I like anime, I'd say Just Because.

Really great episode! Booze man really inserted an alcohol distiller inside Gugu for the lolz. In a place full of shitty people there's bound to be someone like the master of Gugu, but sadly his kids weren't as kind as him. It's a pretty realistic reaction though from the people towards Gugu especially in a time period like this. Gugu didn't realize though that he treated Fushi the same way Booze man treated him. Massive respect to Gugu though for giving his brother the ring despite leaving him behind.

Always a joy to see Fushi grow, and he became closer with Gugu, two monsters. Really looking forward to the next epsiode.

Gugu experimented on someone, and got experimented on by someone as well. I thought Gugu was supposed to realise why this was a bad thing to do. The build up was there, but no conclusion.

It took me a really long time to notice that all the guys were shirtless. lol I didn't think that was possible!

I love the way Fushi speaks. He is just learning to speak, so he doesn't know how to lie or hide his feelings just yet.

Time for Gugu and Fushi's brotherly relationship.

Speaking of brotherly, damn Gugu's older brother has become so thin. I am scared of thin people. It's not the person that I am scared of; rather, it's the thought that they look really easy to break.

I just saw Kahak added to the characters list for this anime. So, they are planning to adapt that far, huh. I did think they would, but I can't imagine it fitting in this season. But, it probably would.

Gugu lives such a sad life but with the help from Fushi, they may both develop their emotions in a beautifull way. It was such a kind gesture to give his brother the ring, even though he probably realised that he didn't deserve it. I guess that no matter what happens, family remains family for Gugu.

I'm curious to see where the next adventure will get them to.... I hope that nothing bad happens with them, altough, judging by how things worked from the first episode, I'm worrying for them. A very nice episode though :)

If there was no one else within a 5-kilometer radius from Shimamura, and she was in a deep sleep and an all-knowing deity just happened to reassure me that she wasn’t going to wake up the next 24 hours, maybe I’d get bored after 23 hours and I might kiss her once to relieve some boredom...
