I was not shocked at all, it was super obvious. The person with the long hair, missing leg, bandage around the head only had to say maybe 2 sentences until I noticed he and Eren have the same voice-actor. From that moment i was sure it was Eren, because there is no way they would give Eren's voice to another caracter, and from there on I was confused why is there. In fact I was (and still am) super confused by this season as a whole. I am only watching the anime, and since episode 1 of this season it feels like they skipped multiple chapters of the manga. (Keep your Spoilers for yourself please!) I mean the whole timeskip thing is all nice, but there are/were no explanations whatsoever up until now, so it feelt like I am watching a completely different anime with titans in. After 1 I was completely lost to the point that I thought I had missed some episodes of S3-P2 but nope I've seen them all. Then after Episode 3 I had a bit of an Idea what could have happened during the timeskip, and then Eren just pops up without any explanation again. I hope we get some exlpanations soon, otherwise this season will ruin the end of an otherwise really good anime for me. Just wait for more episodes.we will get explanations. |

Don't get me wrong I'm sure all of this is important for world building for later episodes, but right now it's almost hard to sit through because it's boring to watch. At least at the end of the episode we saw Eren, so hopefully things will start to pick up and get better. Not just for world building sake but for the viewers to get familiar with these characters as these characters won't just disappear once the point of view switches back to our main characters. Not knowing what our main characters are up to and what they are planning brings a surprise factor to all this and oh boy episode 5 is where the real fun begins and you will see the pay off for having these previous episodes. You want to know where all this hype is coming for this season? The hype begins at episode 5! Mappa just needs to deliver. |

I’m not a manga reader either but I am really appreciative of the background story we’re getting. A good show has good story building and that’s what I’m seeing here. I love all the politics behind SNK. The action is great, don’t get me wrong, but I love this show most due to the world we’re also getting to know along the way. I’ve been having a blast with all the episodes so far!! |

Big hype for the next episode! A lot of unexpected things happened in this one. I'm wondering what is Willy Tibur's plan and what he'll say at the festival. What is Eren and his friends gonna do? The confrontation with Reiner is gonna be huge too. Eren found his grandpa and that guy is fucked up. Understandably... ----That's just my theory, but don't read if you don't want to run the risk of me being right and you getting Spoiled ---- If Eren's been sending messeges to his family, then all of them must be in the Island 👀 |

just when I thought I got all sorted out, the plot changes again. So apparently, the tybur family are the ones controlling marley and the hero helos was an eldian who killed the devil of earth from the legend which is weird because I though ymir died after 13 years and the powers shifted to 9 eldians and all that, what was really the meaning of that statue when the devil already gave ymir the power? they will probably explain it later. now I see how important the tybur family is, they just control marley and start wars when they could simply make peace and leave the eldians alone, they are the true traitors not Paradis eldians. Whoever plays magath is one hell of a guy, excellent voice acting, I see that now willy wants to make magath some sorta de facto ruler of marley, there's a conspiracy, and he wants to announce something to the whole world, can't wait for that. why the hell did eren blew his cover? why is there a need to talk to that traitor reiner? I just hope he transforms and captures that motherfvcker and then he'll kill all world leaders from the conference, they need to free the eldians from the corrupt politicians. I feel that the tybur family betrayed king fritz because they wanted power and now willy wants to change that but I don't know what bigger plans has with magath. 5/5 episode also, the statue was clearly influenced from the story of San Jordi |

Unfortunately, I don't have premium in any streaming service, so I am always a week behind (and no I'm not going to use illegal websites to watch it. Even trying to watch it on youtube sucks). At least now I can say I've caught up. That is until the next episode comes out. This episode had some cheerful moments to enjoy, and I am really excited for the next episode to come out. Was almost about to scream when Riener saw Eren. Seeing how much Erens grandpa regrets what happened in the past with Grisha and his daughter is sad to see. This episode was like the calm before the storm it was mostly happy, but it's building up for chaos later, I can feel it. (Also why do so many people obsess over Pieks ass? I get it, she's cute, but seriously, you all need to calm down a bit.😂😅) |

The building is going to be so worth it for the payoff. My prediction is the family head is the titan. |

I thought it was pretty reckless to have Eren himself go not just to Marley but quite deeper in the Liberio Zone. If the Paradis Eldians lose Eren to the Marleyans (or to the Tyburs?) they lost everything, But I strongly doubt he is alone; he must have quite a (still undisclosed) backup, along with a solid plan. And apparently that plan starts with abducting Reiner and having one of them eat him for breakfast :) It is .. interesting how the tables have turned, right? Is that what Eren meant with the "I am like you" quote? "I am like you" not morally or in terms of character but doing exactly what Reiner and co did in order to abduct Eren, i.e. "I am going to do the same thing you did". In the next episode presumably all hell will break lose; the war declaration festival will probably end prematurely and it's unclear which of the two parties will declare war on each other.. Perhaps the war declaration will be mutual. So the 9th Titan is held by the Tybur family who are the true bosses of Marley. I didn't quite expect that. I don't quite get why everyone fawned over Willy Tybur when they know full well he and his family also have "devil blood". Why/how can their racism be so selective? Is the Tybur family regarded as the exception due to the role they played in overthrowing Eldia? If that's the case the "devil blood" can be overlooked when it is politically or otherwise convenient? I strongly suspect that the Tyburs (since they held the reins on Marley) "liberated" the Marleyans not out of altruism but simply to gain more power. In other words they are mere traitors. It appears that the only reason the Tyburs (with the "hero Helos" as a figurehead) managed to gain power and overthrow the Eldians was due to the obsessive pacifism of the first Reiss King when paired with the Founder Titan (a pacifism that is also hereditary..). I wonder if said pacifism will ever be explained (assuming there is an explanation. i.e. it might be pacifism for pacifism's sake). |

So far, these lot may be the only bunch that truly are evil in the world of AOT, unless they change my mind in the next episode with Willy apparently revealing "everything". |

I think the earliest we'll get a continuation is Fall 2021 assuming they have a better schedule. Eslam said something about the aot starting production on something which is most likely related to aot that started last October/November. If one episode takes a full year then we might see episode 1 by late October and latest by Winter 2021. https://twitter.com/eslam_bouz/status/1342028037693517824?s=20 then again, it could be something completely unrelated to aot lol |

So yes there will be a part 2 or a movie or whatever What source did you get that from? MAPPA showcase, look for his interview. Also he said there is a long way to go. Just found an article about it and yea you're right, its confirmed that there will be a part 2 or a movie. I believe the last chapter of the manga will be released around april, so I don't think they can make it in the next season. Guess we'll have to wait till summer for that. Actually taking into account the time it took to make this 16 eps and also the crazyness that is the manga right now in terms of demanding grand scale action. I dont think we will be seeing a part 2 or a movie until mid 2022. Otherwise it will most likely look worst than this season. I'd wait even if it will take them that long to make the grand finale look epic, I just hope they won't disappoint. |

Eslam said something about the aot starting production on something which is most likely related to aot that started last October/November. If one episode takes a full year then we might see episode 1 by late October and latest by Winter 2021. https://twitter.com/eslam_bouz/status/1342028037693517824?s=20 then again, it could be something completely unrelated to aot lol Even if it is about AOT its more than likely early pre-production, that one only requires Seko who is the writer and the directing team, this takes months. And even if they were to finish it by now for some reason, the whole team of staff and other studios are still hard at work on this final season season episodes, they wont stop until March, so assuming they just transition right of the bat to part 2 or whatever the end of AOT will be, they will need 1 year to make it, thus having that releasing in April 2022 at the earliest. |

I just wanna see the end by 2021 😭😭😭 but if it means the best production we can get I can wait 'til 2022. lmao I just realized this was the ep 4 discussion not the general one |

First is the planning and writing of the scripts, then storyboard, this is what takes several months between around a 12 people because these are the heads of each department, figuring out how to make the series. Then the proper full production starts, when the hundreds of staff start working on the eps themselves. |

MAPPA have been prioritising material to cut and rush throughout these 4 episodes. Ideally, we shouldn't even be as far into this arc as we are right now lol |

I highly doubt they have started even the preproduction of whatever comes after these 16 episodes if they have their hands full with this season already. It just feels weird when you think about them hectically animating for example episode 13 while also preparing for Part 2. BUT I guess they could have started preproduction assuming they treat it as another anime like for example The Chainsaw Man. That would assume people who have finished their part on this season could be working on Part 2 already, such as storyboards and script writing. Not to mention we might see a different team working on Part 2 or whatever else. |

MAQS said: ohh okay. I thought that storyboarding was already part of pre production. They also did say that production will get more hectic "later". Maybe because staffs are working simultaneously? anyways that's just my speculation. |

AOT is not the show for you. Also, they aren't milking this series in any way shape or form. If anything, they have paced this season way too fast. |

If it is a movie, it better be 2, because 1 is way too short for 17 manga chapters. About having to wait more, as long as it is 2 movies I dont care really, I prefer waiting 2 more years and have great production values for my countless re-watches, than waiting 2 years less and having the usual production values. Also if there is a part of the story that needs a movie budget is the last part of the story, its orders of magnitudes greater than everything else we have seen before, in terms of moving parts so to speak. |

Zprotu said: Sharpedon said: I thought it was pretty reckless to have Eren himself go not just to Marley but quite deeper in the Liberio Zone. Also to add to your comment, I can't believe that the Tyburs allow the subjugation of people that share the same blood as them when they could stop it all considering their positions in power. So far, these lot may be the only bunch that truly are evil in the world of AOT, unless they change my mind in the next episode with Willy apparently revealing "everything". Could they stop it though? I don't mean in terms of being able to stop it or not but in terms of optics and how that would be perceived politically. If they stopped it who would the Marleyans (and, perhaps most importantly -judging from this episode- the rest of the entire world) blame for whatever evils the "devils" are and have been blamed for? The blame might then shift to the Tyburs themselves. Invariably scapegoats are individuals or small groups of people. This case appears to be the exception to this rule : The scapegoats are every Eldian (in Marley, Paradis Island and even in third countries) but the Tyburs themselves - who are also the only ones who do not need to wear Star of David-ish badges. This "arrangement" helped the Tyburs rise in power 100-odd years ago and still remain in power. If they tried to ditch it they would almost certainly lose their power and both the Marleyans and the rest of the world would turn against them. Therefore, since I strongly doubt the Tyburs are suicidal they are not going to change anything about how the Eldians are perceived. The "solution" of Willy Tybur will almost certainly involve an attack on Paradis Island, largely in order to steal the Founding Titan (i.e Eren) and nothing concrete about the plight of the Eldians. Tybur might even ask for help in the attack from his former enemies - current "friends" (employing some variation of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" argument). Though I'm not sure he will, since that might make Marley seem weak. |

Alright. I guess I was wrong. Just went back to do the math. So far this season has 4 episodes, adapting Chapters 91 to 98 of the manga. That means the pace so far is 2 chapters an episode. Previously there were 59 episodes adapting the first 90 chapters, so pacing was actually less than 2 chapters an episode.... I guess I just forgot how slow this new arc was when I was reading it because I as breezing through the pages bc I remember getting to this scene with Eren and Reiner very quickly. Or maybe it wasn't slow, and I was just reading as fast as I could to see when our original main cast would come back.... So yea. My bad people. Geez |

Damn I thought you were anime only lolol And yeah the pacing has been too quick actually, had they kept a pace similar to S2 for example, we would have reached this moment around ep 6. |
