| I liked this episode for its meaning. I didn't like this episode for its direction. The facts that the movie is on track and other productions are getting ready for the next seasons do not interest me. The point is that I think that the end of this episode wasn't as it could have been. I have followed the manga since the end of 2nd season because it was a huge blast for me. 1st season put the stakes high and I was amazed how the direction was made to enhance the manga. The 'Mirio fight without his quirk' part is a fraud in the manga too : the author decided to just address that he fought back without his quirk for 5 minutes and that he was already fighting for 10 minutes earlier. It is mentionned at the bottom of a page. But it's ok for a manga because it is not a novel, we do not need so much emphasys while we can keep read the same page and go back to the previous one (We can do it too with the anime or the novel, don't get me wrong). So when you're reading those 3 lines, you know it's cheap, but you can take your time to understand how massive of an achievement it is for someone without a quirk to face Chisaki for FIVE minutes and to be still alive at the end. Honestly, I don't know how they they could have done it to be at least correct but I should have preferred a 15 seconds exposition speech narrated by Midoriya, saying how great was Mirio during this part, than 30 seconds of slides (Even though the part before was very tense and the music pretty nice). Because, not gonna lie, I was totally underwhelmed when the panels started to pass without any real caption or else. And unfortunately, the last part with the young Mirio running out of the screen to say that he lost his dream of becoming the N°1 hero was not as impacting as it should have been. This part aside, the one that was really worse directed in my opinion was the moment he got shot. This should have been the pinnacle of the tension. I think the anime should have shown all the flashbacks from his childhood and his hard work to master his quirk before he gets hit (like the manga). It would have been much better to show how he fought hard to be where he is right now and how powerful he is, and make him lose everything he fought so much for. We should have seen him in shock a few more seconds and finally see him stand again with a beautiful music. Like we already saw that during Midoriya's fights and of course the fight between All for One and All might. It would have address why Mirio should have been the previous successor of All Might. It would have been great. I know it seems I'm the kind of guy who's kneetpicking about everything in an adaptation, but it's a shame to miss the opportunities to render beautifully such a great character. I really like when I'm watching or reading a story and I can say to myself that it couldn't be better. Or at least, nothing has to change because everything is great as it is, period. So, it's too bad we didn't get a better adaptation but it's still a great season (with its flaws), and we should be asured that the series is not adapted like Black Clover. I look forward to the next episode, I hope it will be awesome and that they've put the most effort on that especially part of the arc. |

| Even though I think some people in this thread are overreacting, I gotta admit that this was kinda disappointing. The story was fine, but the animation just wasn't there. For being a high point of a fairly hyped arc, you'd think they'd go all out. I mean, they did that in all of the previous seasons, so why not now? What happened? |

| Damn, what a masterfull and intense episode! Mirio was so epic this episode, he defewated the first two, and after thta made and awesome fight against CHisaki and her comrades, preventing everything while protecting Eri, Mirio truly shined this episode, it was great, and alos Chisaki was awesome, outstanding fight! BNH is so damn gooid cause of thta intense fight, where you alm0ost can't predict how it gona be! Seems next episode Deku will made an awesome entrance, looking forward next episode! I can't wait! |

Yeah we're complaining that the anime adaptation of one of MHA's best moment was only a coloring of manga panel without any improvement from the medium when previous fights fully took advantage of it. | It being anime original is not an excuse. If anything, it's worse. They obviously thought it was important enough to spend a little effort on in the first place, or they would have preserved the manga's original pacing. But instead of actually leaning into that, and justifying the change through really making an effort, they didn't make the most of it and we ended up with a half-assed product that left me and many others cold - because we know that the creative team is capable of more. It's like you're watching Return of the King, you're in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, and you suddenly see some crappy claymation Mumakil stomping on model horses. You'd feel pissed off that the film's incredible visual effects had suddenly stopped in favour of this low-effort approach - it had been so good throughout the previous two movies, and now this? And then your friend leans over and goes, "Hey, bro, this wasn't even in the books, so its better than nothing!" No, it's not better than nothing. I for one would have preferred a fade to black and narrator voiceover, and a really properly well-crafted fight up to that point, than what we got. It's OK - it's totally fine the way it is. But this is the emotional highlight of the arc, and 'totally fine' isn't good enough. It's not the place to be settling or compromising. |
| really good ep imo, and i think the slideshow action added the exact emotion they wanted to portray; rather than being energetic and intense, it was slow and daunting, playing up the fear of harm to lemillion. i thought this ep had just the right balance |

| First of all.... Toga is outstanding even with only 5 seconds... Now... i gotta say that i considered Mirio a Joke until now... i see potential. Pretty good episode, i almost felt like i was watching young All Might (Attitude & Actions, not just Might) First 8 episodes were kind of "mñeh", but these last 3 episodes have been pretty solid. (7, now 8 of 10). |
