I hate it that people are already trashing this season for no reason at all. They talk about 'bad animation' when we haven't even seen any animation. And even if the animation won't be as good as season 1, that won't stop me and many others from loving this anime.

And the new artwork already proves that the art won't be any different from season 1. This is JC Staff's chance to make a name for themselves, so there is no way in hell they would mess this up.

I sincerely believe this anime is gonna amazing in every aspect, just like season 1. A dip in quality is only natural since almost no studio can match Madhouse in animation, but this season is still gonna be FAR from bad.

You said they talk about bad animation but we haven't actually seen any yet. Then you say it will be amazing... um... what? We haven't seen any so how do we know that?

Your topic is a heap of ignorance..

1. we have the right to question J.C. Staff work for several reasons, first of all the fact that NOTHING that this studio does is going above average for years, why would it be now? not even Index that is famous in Japan was lucky, why would OPM have?

2. Keep design is not enough, this studio is bogged down work and should have already released an animated OPM 2 trailer so far, but everything we have is a static trailer, how to expect something good from it?

3. "A dip in quality is only natural since almost no studio can match Madhouse in animation"
do not make me laugh, this status of "best animation studio" ended years ago, look at Overlord II and III, most of the good animators and directors of this studio have left him the glory time of this studio is over, OPM S1 only had quality because of its former director Shingo Natsume, BONES can better join a team thousands of times BETTER, look at Mob Psycho S2 is freaking Gorgeous.

4. hope that we are wrong and that it leaves wonderful because the chances are low

To be honest, I got a bit carried away. People keep already trashing this anime for no reason at all. We love OPM for the characters, comedy and action, the quality in animation shouldn't change much about how much we're gonna enjoy this next season.

1. yeah, i know JC Staff isn't the best studio, which is why I said that this is their chance to make a name for themselves. I really hope they are trying their best with this anime

2. I actually agree, it's pretty worrisome that they haven't released a trailer yet. Seens like they're working on a really tight schedule

3. With this one I was more referring to the first season of OPM rather than Madhouse as a whole

4. as a manga reader I already know that the story and characters are gonna be amazing, we'll just have to see about the rest ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I suggest you to search for actual information about the subject before rambling like an idiot. The artwork being good doesn't prove anything since the character designer for season 2 is still Chikashi Kubota. A good key art does not represent the actual animation that will be present in the show. This isn't even about Madhouse, it's about the production and staff behind the second season. Kubota and other key staff members have already regarded season 2's production as hellish and the lack of talent that was present in the 1st season is pretty clear just from the fact that we're less than a month away from the premiere and all we got so far was a pv only showing still frames. If you want to be positive and expect a good production, go for it lol. However it has been warned, you're only setting yourself for disappointment.

I get what everyone here is saying with all the evidence showing that it may possible not turn out good but to op defense he is right in saying that persons should at least wait for the first episode before casting judgement on the series.

I remember when a lot of persons were saying the tv series titans is going to suck base off the actors, trailer and even the outfits they were wearing, but when it aired most persons opinion were positive and it surpass their expectation.

Have you even do your research first before making this thread? J.C Staff has a tight production schedule that caused them overworked themselves, due to the fact they has been working on MORE THAN 10 ANIME SERIES THIS YEARS. So no way in hell that OPM2 will gonna do well in term of quality (Hell, the first episode of Date a Live 3 is even worse with how bad the quality was made).

At the very least you could only expect OPM2 have the same level as Toaru Majutsu no Index III, and that one was far from being good due to fact that anime was made on rushed (Even it's prequel Index II have way better quality than Index III itself).

Repost this comment for TC:
It's not gonna be bad. It'll be average JC Staff animation. This isn't Toei Animation.

Oh really?

(I know the first one was a key visual but my point still stand)

Tell me, how should we getting hype at this with all these bullcraps shown in J.C's recent works?

I know people like to talk shit about Toei but yeah, they would've been way better than JC Staff. Toei can makes some fucking quality anime when they just makes 1 or 2 cour anime.

ONE and Murata thought this studio won't make a good adaptation, they never would've made a deal with JC Staff.

Since when did ONE and Murata have something to do with the anime adaptation? They have completely no control in the anime adaptation, that's more on Shueisha's decision than the authors themselves and they won't care if the adaptation will gonna do well or not. Otherwise we won't have so many anime that's inaccurate to it's source materials and having an anime with bad arts/animations.

This is very naive they don't have ultimate control over that. Shueisha ultimately is the one who determines if a series is getting animated and then after that it is the production committee which is made up of a lot of different interests. There is so much anime being put out today due to increase demand and anime studios are more pressured than ever due to a lack of animators.

The issue people are bringing up is that JC's production schedule is very concerning. They don't even have close to enough time compared to S1 to hit that level. In anime production time and talent is probably the most important thing over even aspects like money. When S1 of OPM aired the last few episodes were in the finishing up process there is only two months to go and it has been reported by (Yonkou who tends to be 90% right about this kinda of stuff) that they only have 2 episodes finished. That is quite concerning considering their history. I will point out too that staff not studio really makes a series good or not OPM benefited from a lot of free lance work and even some guys from Bones (I believe) plus Madhouse working on it. They likely don't have those guys here

I don't believe the guys at JC are bad animators but they are very very overworked. Food Wars S3 also recently used a lot of still frames in the adaption probably to deal with a lack of time. You can't just look at the art and think yeah this won't be downgraded.

Look I am hoping for the best no one hopes something like this just sucks but it ain't looking good right now. Honestly it would be great if they pulled a Chihayafuru and delayed it but I doubt that is going to happen.

Alright I really tried to say something in favor of this new season, but apparently everyone hates JC Staff more than they love OPM. I know JC Staff is garbage and I know they're already working on many anime.

If you're gonna correct me, correct me on what I should've said about this next season not being bad, not about the many other problems there are which have already been mentioned in almost every other OPM topic.

My final question/statement: Do you guys legitimately think this next season won't be enjoyable?

It's not that we wants to hate J.C Staff for no reason, but they're clearly wanted us to hate them so much with their (recent) shitty production schedule.

Which part of "J.C Staff works on too many anime so therefore the quality will mostly downgrade" is SO HARD for you to understand??? Exactly what kind of answer do you want?

The fact you think ONE and Murata joined the anime projects and somehow think that tight production schedule has nothing to do with OPM2's quality, is shows that you really have no idea how does anime production works in the first place.

Faystache said:

It's depends on how they handle it. If J.C won't changes the story and the art/animation was tolerable than yes you can enjoys the show whatever the hell you want.

I think the animation will be great. This studio is in charge of Shokugeki no Souma and as we all know, THAT SHOW HAS GREAT ANIMATION. Also, it's really consistent with it's manga adaptations so I've got extremely high hopes for this season. I just hope they fix the art that was in the PV. Though that was quite a few months ago. Cause that art looked pretty bad to be honest.

Well, it's kinda hard to mess up with OPM as long as they keep the comedy and pacing, it's all right I guess. That said, the staffs don't seem really promising though

I hope that when this is finished, One Punch Man will automatically change the animation studio again considering the success of the first season and considering Bones as the next option, I do not know what they thought when they gave OPM to a studio like JC Staff.

The real question will be "Why is J.C Staff accepted the request to made OPM2 despite their shitty production schedule?".

I guess the reason why Madhouse didn't works on OPM2 because they're already busying working on another project, so they thrown their job to J.C instead.

The Televix Entertainment website (the company that distributes the anime to Latin America) was updated a few months ago with the information that the series has 37 episodes, before was listed as 12. With this, there are 25 episodes remaining for the next season.

The information continues on the site to this day: http://www.televix.com/one-punch-man/
