| Oh my God that was a profoundly powerful episode. Just after I get done shitting on this show in the last episode's thread, this happens. When Zeref leaned in to kiss Mavis, a deep sense of affection welled up in me, that sense of romance and longing for them to be together -- the "shipper's curse," if you will. And I don't feel that about any other pairing in this series, except maybe Jellal and Erza, and even that I have hardly felt since the beginning of the Grand Magic Games arc because they've been sidelined so abominably hard. Likewise, I could feel Mavis' despair when she understood her curse being born in harmony with Makarov. This was a really, really good episode. I can't remember what other Fairy Tail episodes I've found top tier, but this has to be among the best. L0rd said: Damn. Sometimes, when for a long time nothing good happens, I question myself that why have I followed the manga to the end, and why am I still watching this? The answer is this episode; that, despite everything that has happened (and will happen), there's a surprisingly good story buried in there somewhere, operating with very nice, poetic concepts. It's as if I were in a curse of contradiction burdened love with the series, similarly to Mavis and Zeref. The more I care and want to like it the more annoyed I am about the bad stuff and the shittier I think it is; but when I don't care and just watch it to get through, I notice the nice things, like this episode. Curse of Contradiction right there. Basically how I feel, too. |

| Fairy tail zero part 2: The tragic lovestory of Mavis and Zeref looks pretty interesting. Dammit Mavis, you could have gone for the cool name Pippoko but you went for the terrible Makarov.... Pretty sad for Mavis to live and die wit that curse... |

| Anything around fairy tail zero always gets me. The montage they used when Mavis realized she indeed is carrying doom and the one in the last scene really brought out the tragic feel in this episode. |

| Interesting. They became lovers for at least a moment. That curse sucks. It would've been nice if it allowed at least fellow cursed beings to stay together. |
| Damn, I saw this coming once saw they had same curse and if got close. Both definitely loved each other, but while Mavis was familiar with forms of love, Zeref lost this and his love was magnified by the situation, underestimating the contradiction curses power. Such a tragic story for them. Mavis kill Makarov's mother, and many, many others. Zeref also killed many. Once again leading to Zeref not really being a bad guy, he just has to be devoid of love to prevent death, though we do see that he is fairly losing his mind and due to the curse now is even contradicting his own true intentions. So sad. Next episode will give actual answer to what the hell Fairy Heart is, I can understand she's not dead dead as both still exists and has the same curse, but body might be dead, or.... I don't know 4/5, way to sad for me to give 5/5 |
