| I think the comedy tag should be reviewed, the MAL definition is "Comedy - Multiple characters and/or events causing hilarious results. These stories are built upon funny characters, situations and events." yet shows like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Bnha are tagged as comedy. I don't think anyone looking for a true comedy show is looking for those. Just because a show has humor doesn't mean it should have 'comedy' listed as its genre. |

Perhaps he actually lives in China? If he does, it's be great if he can see the timestamp of the comments on the video https://www.iqiyi.com/v_19rrdb91os.html so we know for sure what the time stamp is to a native in China IRL. Or maybe how IQIYI's timestamp feature functions. Or knows of a metadata site that can extract the video information relative to UTC and then we can manually convert to China's zone (like with yt vids and finding the Japanese airdate) |

I searched for "Barangay" and "バランガイ" on TV-Asahi's site https://www.tv-asahi.co.jp/ and the only result was a press release from October 2016 where TV Asashi said the show was not to be broadcasted in Japan. http://company.tv-asahi.co.jp/contents/interview/0138/ Granted its been 2 years since the company said no-were'-not-airing-it so they could have changed their mind but I can't find a single source of it airing in Japan regardless. Correct, other country's animations are not allowed. As it is Myanimelist.net not Mycartoonlist.net, if you would like to document your cartoon watching and anime, The Big Cartoon Database is the site for you https://www.bcdb.com/ there is also Kitsu.io which as an Anime Influenced section https://kitsu.io/explore/anime/category/anime-influenced though there is no guarantee if they'll accept Barangay 143 into that section of their website but you can try. But yeah myanimelist ever since it was created has always exclusively been japan/china/korea. Co-productions with other countries are allowed but not outsourcing productions (as almost every American cartoon made after 1990 has outsourcing to japan/china/korea). And because we can't find any sources of Barangay 143 airing in Japan, that makes it an outsourcing production and ineligible for the database. (Even if it did air in Japan, we'd have to see the credits of the show because there needs to be substantial Japanese involvement on the project to elevate it out of outsourcing and into co-producing. That's why Avatar and The Red Turtle aren't on this website either.) |
