| This episode is very intriguing. Philosophically, it asks something we're probably going to struggle with a lot in the future. On the one hand, it is clearly an advance to be able to get rid of the biggest gender divide by making actual child-rearing obsolete. On the other hand, is it wrong to want that experience of physically giving birth--to leave one's mark on the world in Kokoro's words--and even to embrace gender differences? Plot-wise, we're seeing advancement on a lot of fronts. Nana and Hachi appear to have their own history and Nana's memory was probably altered when she was young. Dr. Franxx is clearly doing something behind Papa's back, although it's still unclear whether he's siding with the team. Kokoro did it with Mitsuru despite being under surveillance. Hiro is becoming like 02 physically. Meanwhile, there appears to be some fight left with the Klaxo princess. So we're looking at multiple fronts: Klaxo princess vs. humanity, Dr. Franxx vs. Papa, the team vs. Papa, and potentially Dr. Franxx vs. the team. It is increasingly looking like a second season (maybe 12 ep.) will be necessary to tie everything together and let all the existing plot threads play out. It will look a bit rushed, I think, if it aims to finish everything within the next 7, given how there's still a lot of ground to cover. |

| 02 was so cute in this episode. Damn Kokoro...wow xD That was unexpected, especially that ending. Now we have even more questions, they said that only children have reproductive organs....hmmm I wonder what those guys are planning to do down there because that girl seems very strong. Oh, and can't wait to see that blonde guy dead. Glad that Futoshi had a decent reaction to what happened. Hiro's horns are growing. Oh, and btw, 02 said that she can't reproduce?? So what happened to Hiro, since he is now also transforming, so he also can't reproduce? So many questions and so little answers xD |

| Wow, what a gripping episode. Sitting back and thinking about it makes me realize how much information we were given in just 22 minutes. Zero Two's headband was so cute, I loved it. It almost looked like a wedding veil to me; maybe that was on purpose? So the main takeaway is Mitsuru and Kokoro's relationship. As the kids continue to be alone they begin to fall back on natural urges, but it's clear this was an experiment from the beginning by Dr. Franxx. I'm starting to think Dr. Franxx has his own agenda which involves taking down Papa. Anyway, I usually joke about "making babies" when romantic moments come around, but I really can't believe Kokoro and Misturu went through with it. So proud of Mitsuru tapping that fine Kokoro. I think this is fairly normal for a girl Kokoro's age though, girls go through puberty and mature much earlier than boys do, so her urges feel fairly natural especially after her reading that book. I think all of this is fueled by innate human curiosity too. All the kids realize they don't know certain things and are specifically kept in the dark, because of that their curiosity continues to grow and grow.When the Nines found her book, I genuinely thought she was going to die. Especially when they took her away to Nana and whatshisface. Speaking of, we now know that Nana was a parasyte once. And when she reached a certain age she was indoctrinated or rather brainwashed to get rid of most emotion or feelings. It seems like the experiment on the kids has affected Nana as well. Will they actually replace her like blondie said, or would they just "re-educate" her? Hope she'll be ok. But wow did this episode provide some commentary. I've already seen a freelancer for Anime News Network get triggered by it. The Nines are clearly a product of where western culture is going, this obsession with destroying gender and not teaching the differences between men and women. But the kids on the other hand are accepting and realizing that that they want to reproduce and that men and women's bodies are different for a reason. Their innate desire to be with one another reminds me of Jeff Goldblum saying, "Life finds a way". The topic can be forbidden to speak about and even more so to do, but the natural instincts of people will kick in and there's nothing they can do about it. It's basically a massive "fuck you" to the PC culture that's been so prevalent in our society lately. So it's finally confirmed Hiro is changing to what appears to be either a Klaxxosaur or to some kind of hybrid like Zero Two. That's a pretty huge development, it makes me believe even more than this may end in tragedy with both Zero Two and Hiro dying. I feel like Hiro may become more and more different as time goes on, but we'll have to see. Klaxxosaur princess was cute, but I'm incredibly intrigued by the history of the Klaxxasur and how they came about, especially with the dialogue between the Papa figures. Are they even human any more for that matter? Have they too attempted to shed away gender and everything human about them to achieve something greater? This show really has me hooked. |

| I knew Kokoro is a bitch all along lolz.. She wants to have sex with a hotter guy instead of the fatty, that's why she cast him aside quickly. She has planned to pick the hotter guy to have sex with all along since very early on in the plot point. (She wants to switch the pilot partner way earlier) She even cut the hair of the guy so she can create her own ideal hottie to have sex with :P This episode turns the anime into one of the biggest meme shows now. (Add it along with ep14) |

This show can't decide what it wants to do, Kokoro and Mitsuru have become more disgusting. Ikuno is given perhaps her first few lines since God knows when. Klaxosaur princess is pretty much the beginning of another new arc which has nothing to relate to with the last Funny how this show went from a 9/10 at episode 1 to a current 6.5/10 for me. FranXX is steadily going down the slope, and things don't look good. |

You can tell since way back in around ep 8 with all the drama. It is further proven in ep14 with that forced ntr and drama. Now ep17 is about Bella want to have a forbidden child (in Franxx's world view anyway) by having sex. (Which is also forbidden in Franxx's world view) Oh, ofc it has to be done with the hot guy, that's why fatty is cast aside very early on. They even have to redesign Mizuru's hairstyle so he looks hotter. Tbf, considering how popular both Twilight and Darling in the Franxx is among young teenagers, I say the studio succeeded cuz this type of drama/ love/ sex story is what people want. |

It's the main cast that is what I'm expecting to grow more, which in fact have shown signs of doing so. Other than that, the world building in this anime seems to get on my nerves sometimes, either I left behind the details or it all seems too unclear to me. |

I did notice the show dwindling in quality at around that time (as evidenced by the slowly lowering score) but never knew it would take such a bs stance. And as a teen I can confirm that even though Twilight is known by many, it's one of the most scoffed at and hated shows among teens too (to say nothing of the adults). If FranXX really does go that way then I'm afraid my score for it will only go lower. |

Dunno man, from his style of speech he sure knows something about the parasite's origins. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he tries to betray Papa. Instead of proper worldbuilding, which I set an example of such like Gin no Saji, they went on some cheap-ass Twilight drama several times. Way to add nothing but wasted potential in the episodes. You're not missing anything bruv. I don't even understand the concept to begin with. Just throw in some random fanservice and warm fuzzy moments here and there and you get this anime. |

| All these comments on quality drop when nothing has really changed. It's more just people being upset at a after sex scene in an anime. There's always been too many characters to flesh them all out. So when they do flesh them out, people are quick to get upset. The real focus and draw to the show is still there. It's the mystery of what even is a "human" anymore with what war is being fought between what future "humans" (papa's children) and the other future "humans" (klaxosaurs). |

And then I guess the whole thing became a slippery slope once gender was eliminated to get rid of other "useless" attributes of humans such as irrational emotions...hm. So it's both a progressive, yet totalitarian and utilitarian society? Which makes the klaxosaurs the true evolution of humanity? Yet Zero-Two said she couldn't reproduce...which makes me think that was the result of her experimentation. Man there's so much to uncover because of this episode and I actually can't wait for the next one. I was starting to lose interest because the show cranked it's drama gear to the max but now there's so much to question holy shit. 5/5 |

| Nice to see the Alpha team, I love them especially their smug leader who gets pegged in the ass by his girl whenever they pilot their Franxx. Hiro is growing horns and Zero Two is wearing something that looks somewhat like a bride's veil. I still don't like Hiro and I don't think I ever will, whenever I see him with Zero Two, I see someone punching above his weight. Unless he transforms and turns into someone cooler. He's so boring and makes me yawn. He's a discount Shinji Ikari in my eyes. Jesus Christ, Zero Two really did eat her book. No more tearful reunion for that OTP. I like that we're getting more explanation on their background, why the adults have no reproductive organs and why the kids need them in order to pilot the Franxx. Please more exposition and less Hiro x Zero Two drama. Then again, I'm sure Kokoro is going to get pregnant and maybe even the other girls like Miku or Ichigo (although that's highly unlikely lol) and that's going to cause a whole fucking load of drama but I'm ready to jump on that bandwagon and see where it leads. My new favorite character is the loli klaxosaur princess. I knew from the moment that Kokoro picked up that book and became Mitsuru's partner that she wanted to make her own baby. I'm just glad my OTP Mitsuru x Kokoro finally did the deed, I'm sure one or both of them are going to die but my wish was fulfilled. He obviously deserves better. Anyways, it's easy to tell in the comments who have been in relationships and those who have yet to be in their first relationship. Relationships in real life vary and YES, CUCKING in real life happens even to people who are "happily married." Heck, I know a guy who cheated on his wife while she was still pregnant with their third kid. He got his side chick pregnant and cheated on her too.
