My print didn’t translate the messages. The Line chats definitely had some impacts, specially the end credit scene.

I really wish Directors will try to portray a confession scene in any season but spring.
I mean, it's become like confession must be in spring. LOL.

I wish they had more talks with each other, Natsume and Izumi.

Graduation speech was awesome.

Production seems like a mess. Though it didn’t bother that much. Spring 2020's "Sing Yesterday for Me" is a better example of this genre having consistent production value.

8/10, I really enjoyed. All the characters were lovable, just like Relife and Yesterday.

This was a pretty nice anime.

Komiya was my favourite character for sure!
Some of the plot execution bothered me though. For all the use of texting that they do, they always seem to stop short of what they really want to say. For instance, Mio not replying for a month and causing Izumi to question her feelings, when it all could’ve been resolved by a reply the next day. Also, the whole suspense of not knowing what university they were both attending could’ve been resolved with a simple text from Mio in their group chain saying she changed her first choice. I get that the story wanted to leave viewers waiting for their climactic scene at the end, but it lacked realism and seemed a bit contrived.

Also, the way Mio did things with the “I’ll wait until I pass my entrance exam until I confess” seems like an awfully roundabout way of going about things. This anime loves misunderstandings between characters, but it seems like such an easy fix if the characters just say what’s on their mind to begin with, or better yet just text it to one another to avoid misunderstandings.

One lingering question I had was why Mio’s friend Mayu hated Morikawa, but I guess it wasn’t important enough for the plot.

Still it was enjoyable to watch. I liked how they handled Morikawa and Soma’s story.

I liked the ending. The show was really relaxing to watch in the first half but once Natsume starts to consider her feelings for Izumi and changed her first choice it created a tension and made a reason for me to continue watching because the other couple is pretty much done earlier. But from there is where it gets better imo. Its a refreshing romance slice of life where I dont see any of the character being insensitive. Natsume gets it pretty fast that Izumi liked her and she considered it. 8/10 I assume the score is that low because it started pretty slow and there are shippers who lost their shit throughout.

I finished rewatching it. I really loved this show more than ever.

Izumi is just barging on his pride throughout the series. He makes excuses to avoid what he desires. He doesn’t let his emotions sudden explode out.
He starts to change after episode 4 because he finally lets out his feelings. Also, he gets inspired from Haruto on how Haruto is taking steps towards his desires.

Natsume is someone whose time has been stopped when Haruto gave her an eraser. She also makes excuses to avoid confessing. That's why She is shy on complaining. In Morikawa's house, Yoriko and Morikawa pointed it out .
Natsume's big sis pointed out how she is comfortable around Izumi, it's because Izumi has always helped her no matter what. This point is relevant when you can see how she texts Izumi in the first few episodes. She subconsciously likes Izumi more than Haruto. She finally realizes it during her entrance exam test.

Their all reasonings to express their hidden feelings went out of the window when Izumi failed and Natsume passed. So Natsume makes a step forward.Since Izumi failed he made another excuse (to win a baseball match against Haruto) , but time doesn’t foegive them.

Finally, their shyness went away in the end credit scene. They actually had no excuse this time, only time was moving fast. They could have made this an excuse, but Izumi refused. He let out his feelings and expressed his love properly. This is the beauty. Izumi and Natsume always have tried to look away, now they still could have done this despite their all reasonings were fulfilled. But they finally looked beyond their shells and Natsume also expressed her feelings. The fact that Izumi was the first one not Natsume to say it, also shows that he already had given up on Natsume that he couldn’t care if he is rejected or not, where Natsume also had thought she was being rejected already. Also it's a sign of Haruto saying "Izumi will sort it out, anyway"

Just Because tells how much and what kind of problems people face about love life in school days. It'sa perfect tale, Whether it's Morikawa-Haruto or Natsume-Izumi, both the couple had different kind of problems and with time and experiencing more on others, they finally sorted out their problems. "Just Because" because you are making excuse to avoid the truth, "Just Because" because ultimately that's what you desired and got it.

Also, don't get me wrong, but I liked Komiya too. It's just, she wasn’t meant to be accepted. The fact that she is a photographer is the metaphoric sign that she wouldn’t be able to achieve beyond her boundary.

I was going to give this series 10/10, but the nonsensical "Natsume and Izumi haven't met ever since graduation day" time skip and the lack of a kissing scene made me drop to 9/10. Tsuki ga Kirei is superior to this: an actual decent, satisfying ending and three kissing scenes!

After thinking about it, you can cut out a lot of the fluff and it could have very easily been a 1.5 hour film. We all knew the final pairing and given how Komiya was shafted, her character can easily be removed because she deserved to be on a better show.

To be completely honest, I didn’t feel very satisfied with the ending. Based on the build up with the love of the two main characters the romantic level at the end didn’t leave me feeling their story’s “ride” was finished. This is just a personal post, after the 12th episode I would have to give this anime a 7/10.

This anime turned out just lovely. I wasn't so sure of it in the first few episodes but the farther I got into it, the more I liked it. The last few episodes were particularly touching. With the uncertainty of life after graduation causing anxiety for the characters, I am glad they made it through. I felt some melancholy undertones, but I think that just comes from the feeling of graduation and the uncertainty of what comes next. It was surprisingly realistic.
I'm glad they finally confessed at the end, but I can't believe they made we wait all the way until the ending though (>_<)

That autistic dimwit izumi doesn't deserve best girl Komiya anyway.

I like natsume and Izumi couple but there are no proper interactions between them and ending felt bland.
Only thing I am satisfied with this anime is morikawa X Haruto.

Old fart, here.
I liked this anime. Not great, animation is really on low level side, but enjoyed the subdued atmosphere, the tone-down colors, the matter-of-fact voice acting, the minimum resort to cheap drama (even though it was still a bit too much).
I think most people misunderstand Natsume, that's why she gets so little love. I personally liked her character, a once lively person (as seen in the flashbacks from middle school) who slowly faded because of too much dedication on work and nurtured a one-way love as an excuse to avoid involving in relationships with boys. We don't see it in the anime, but it's quite likely that she gave a lot of thought about her exchange with Eita at the sanctuary: not only she realized then that indeed she had been fixed in this posture for years, of having too much work and an unrequited love, but that it blinded her from the fact that Eita had been loving her the whole time. She properly recollected many things about him after that and with subsequent events shown in the series, fell in love, probably truly this time.
I liked Eita too. Quite an interesting character with probably some autistic elements. The others are fine too, although I felt less drawn to them.
Maybe not a show which will appeal to people who are great fans of romance anime, but worth a try.

You know, the "worst" or "better" girl is an entirely subjective matter. Fortunately, actually. That means every fellow has his chance to find "his best girl".

Happy this had a mostly happy ending. Pretty nice little story. Really happy the two mains got together finally! Felt really really bad for Ena.. :'( Why the hell did she even need to be included in this as a love interest?! It was clear from the start that MC had feelings for only one person. It was pointless!

But given the state of modern romance or even stories with romance in them.. We have to take what we can get and here we got a mostly happy ending. It's sad though when sideshow romances in non-romance series offer a much better chance at an actual romance/happy ending.. or even/at least one that doesn't make you stop questioning the reasons for japan's baby gloom. (god i hate modern "realism", edge and tragedy fads)

RobertBobert said:
Eh, the miracle did not happen and we have another generic end with the illusion of intrigue. It's a pity. I hope that I will ever see anime, where the third character is not introduced just to suffer and create a non-existent weight to the central couple.

So SO much this! I'm so very sick of the "2nd" girl trope. Especially,... ESPECIALLY when they have true feelings for the MC.. All for a pointless drama trope that wasn't even really used or needed here! Poor Ena.. t_t I couldn't even watch that ending... and I was on team Mio from the beginning!

Also that 'slice of life' shit really showing it's head with the Morikawa/Haruto ending. ugh

Dear god yes! I hate the so-called "open ending" even more than a sad one almost! To me, it's no different than an unfinished work. I didn't spend my time getting into a story just to fanfic the GD ending! So pretentious and lazy.

I'm out of words on how to describe how I'm feeling right now, just having finished watching the last episode. I'll probably define it as a good feeling, a feeling that something good has come to an end, I feel a mixture of happiness and sadness, sad that this has ended and happy that Natsume and Eita finally confessed and their wonderful love life and college life begins now.

This was a wonderful finale, all the loose ends tied, nothing left unresolved, that's what I loved the most despite this being an anime original. I hate open-endings with all my heart.

Natsume's speech was pretty good but not good enough to make me cry. I still vividly remember the graduation speech scene from Sakurasou na pet na kanojo, I'm not kidding I cried buckets during that scene, that was too good.

It's always the fucking "demo" during the confession answer, "It made me happy that you confessed to me" BUT "i'm sorry" that stings man. I wasn't rooting for either Natsume or Komiya so Komiya getting rejected felt bad man. They even showed her crying like that, that was ugly crying man, you only cry like that when you are seriously hurt and it didn't help much. Well gotta accept that, we all knew from the start there's going to be at least one broken heart at the end.

That was a beautiful way to end the episode, the conversation between Soma and Morikawa, showing a little bit of their new life, showing a little bit of what happened to others, that was nice.

The way they ended it with Natsume and Eita meeting each other and the first words Eita spoke to Natsume were "I like you" was just the perfect way to end this series and I absolutely loved it.

This anime did a very very good job on creating the atmospheres, you literally get sucked in it. There wasn't a single dull moment in this anime. The way the last scene played out was just beautiful, taking a step back then going forward then the episode name rolls out. Loved it. I also liked how the first episode was titled, "On your marks!" and final epsiode was titled, "Get Set, Go!"

This was such a great anime. Fully worth my Sunday, I spent my whole Sunday watching this and it was worth every minute of it. The best part is I'm feeling satisfied after the ending which is rare these days considering there aren't many animes that give you a satisfaction after they end.

This definitely didn't feel like 12 episodes at all. Every episode seemed to last way more than just 20 minutes, it's not like it was boring that's why it felt long but IDK every episode seemed too long, maybe it was the pacing?

This was on the same level as animes like Ao Haru Ride or Orange in my opinion, all these were kinda similar I think.

9/10 overall. I think I'm gonna remember this anime for a long time.

What a mess.

It's been forever since I've felt disappointed at an anime I finished watching. Maybe I didn't watch it correctly or didn't pay attention? The character's aren't the best but the plot could've made up for it, but it didn't, at least for me. The designs are average and Eita is pretty generic.

It had potential and I loved the atmosphere and mature tone the anime had, but it was an unorganized mess that expects me to fill in the puzzle pieces myself. It leaved so much room for my interpretation instead of going in a solid direction. What even happened with the ending? They couldn't even specify, just left off with a confession.

I want a good fleshed out ending that leaves me inspired and satisfied, not an open ended one like this. If they ended up in different colleges after working so hard to be together, that's just such a sad tragedy... if they talked about changing colleges to go together, and decided to pick Eita's recommended college, then great job, their romantic life begins... either way I want to see which option happens, not imagine it.

YESSS, THEY CONFESSED AT THE END!!
Just wow, this last episode really was something. I'll just say it now, the ending was very good and bittersweet, but I wanted the last part to be a little longer, or happen sooner.

I liked Komiya as a character a lot. She liked Eita but she also knew what he really wants instead of being stubborn and annoying and that's why I like her. This love triangle really wasn't something that dramatic and annoying. I'm happy to see Morikawa and Souma still talking and even Yoriko. Somewhat sad that they can't go out as a group again. Also is that Nakajima at the end?!? I would feel bad if Eita never got to talk with him again so this would be perfect. It was a somewhat sweet ending, getting everyone in, even Komiya, but I wish the ending showed us the group talking on LINE or going out again during the summer. But as long as all of them still keep in touch with each other, I'm satisfied.

Now I probably go against a lot of people since I didn't want Komiya to win and it really didn't feel that predictable to me. During Eita's rejection, up until he left the room, I really did think Eita would end up with Komiya, I thought he would accept her confession in a more indirect way than just saying "Yes, I like you". Natsume was the older friend, while Komiya just came out of nowhere in the last month and didn't build that much history with Eita. Even if Natsume didn't like him back then, they were still good friends since even her sister knew him.The chemistry between them was different because Natsume was always his crush, whereas he never felt something for Komiya and they weren't even friends at first, she kept following him for the photo so it wasn't as hard to talk to her and Komiya's personality is also something that adds to that.

Throughout this episode, even after Komiya's rejection, I kept moving in my seat because I really feared the confession would never come or be a bad cliffhanger but I'm SO HAPPY IT HAPPENED!! I was so sad when they didn't meet that day and then the next scene took place a month after, with those 2 never talking to each other which seemed somewhat unrealistic but right after, Natsume told him to look behind which took Eita by surprise since he thought Natsume went to that other school and then they were face to face, Eita directly going for the confession to which Natsume replied with the same confession. I really loved this since it filled that hole I had in my heart, but what I did not like was how late it happened and how it ended right when they moved closer to each other. I would have really liked if it happened on the day of the graduation after Eita hit the home run and at least show us how they kissed or hugged, BUT all's well that ends well. We got to see them confessing and I'm happy.

Again, very good ending for me, just wish they confessed during the graduation. Overall a great romance show, the characters were great, OST was amazing, especially the opening and the animation looked nice.

I have a question:
How come Eita and Mio managed to meet up like that in the end? Are they at the same university?
Also at which university was Eita recommended to?

Overall, this episode was good, but overall, The anime felt average, but good average.
The characters all felt real, for the most part, and ena crying was a crime :) .

Always sad seeing people cry when their love failed, like what happened to Komiya, and seeing her made a yearbook especially for Eita just made it more sad. I personally like the conclusion, but would like to see more of the after story because it would be interesting.

Pretty bad ngl

If we knew more about mio I would of cared more. All she cared about were her exams that's all I know about her. Interactions with the MC were minimal. This was a completely odd show. Maybe in the end it was a good thing these two got together. They both have no personality. Eita is deadpan and so is Mio. 4/10. Pretty bad. Maybe if this was a TV drama it would be better.

Loved it, the sense of nostalgia was so strong watching this. Mio’s speech summed it up nicely, all these moments in our youth, the relationships, the ups & downs, they shape you & help you grow.

I loved Komiya too & was rooting for her. But you can’t force feelings. She’s such a great girl tho. I really loved Hazuki & Haruto’s relationship. Find you a man that would always yell at the top of his lungs over his happiness of you……..

Fuck Natsume, she had her chance. Izumi definitely should've gotten over her and settled for Komiya, but she was way too good for him anyway so she lucked out in my eyes.

Anyways, I really liked this show. Just a simple, no-frills, teenage love drama.

I think the author didn't even give a shit about komiya then why even add her in the story , if it was determined that natsume and izumi is gonna end up together, tsuki ga kirei was a million times Better romance story than this typical romance with a realism in it and it was released in the same year but had everything top notch with better animation and story telling ... This story telling had a major fault but it was a decent watch 4/10 for just showing komiya in the show otherwise other characters were boring as fuck

The ending was ok. Kinda sad for best girl Komiya. Especially because I just like her failed to win over the first girl I liked and confessed multiple times. But eh, she deserves better than Sadsack Eita anyway. So it's okay. The anime was overall enjoyable I guess. 7/10 for me.

I liked Komiya so much, so I'm very frustrated! She had great interactions with him, and her personality is also great! Very entertaining character!

@Wonderlust_Arte it should've been her. I mean she could've save the entire anime by herself
