You have no additional notes whatsoever, you need to write them, they're important. As for recommended manga, my challenge was Shoujo-Ai only, so I'd recommend you Pietà, (#64. Read a manga from the ones listed under manga relations in the Hidden Gems of Manga club). It's short, old, and good. |

It seems that the Manga Challenge needs much less notes than the Anime Challenge. Tsuyo is too lazy. Still, if you don't screenshot your MAL rec for #66 it's impossible to check, and if you don't say where your manga is set for #46, or what event is being represented for #51 (for example) it's really hard to check if that's actually true. |

@Conde_Mohr I would appreciate you not insulting me publicly based on your personal perception of what's required for the challenge. Shey taught you how to check the Anime Challenge and I'm in charge of checking the Manga Challenge so I have my own rules and my own ways, so please don't butt in and tell people what's required without any authority. If I feel like people need to have additional notes in their forms I will tell them when I tell them. @AudioTsunami He meant stuff like marking for example what year a title was published in if the item requires it or marking which genre you chose, or what seinen magazine was Hideout published in, etc. It's basically notices that would make the checking process easier, but they're not requirement. Some are requirement though, like the ones that involve screenshots (#65, #66) and the ones that require links (#60, #61) and some that may change like the one involving scores, ranking, staff's favorites or high school from another user on your page. I didn't check if you had to items, but if you do, when you turn in, I'll require changes. |

Glad to see all the annoying and time consuming paperwork that caused me to quit participating in the Anime Watching Club made its way over to the site wide Anime Challenge and is trickling to the Manga side. Tsuyo, i'll do some bolding and linking when I get home. I might take a lesson from Sinar and tag all the entries to, or at least most of them. |

For somethining shorter, how about Mayonaka no Cross Method. I just read it recently to add it in my challenge and it was a good read if I had to say. Apocalypse no Toride is great too! too bad I can't add in since I started it way before 2017 Unfortuntely though, most of the longer manga I read are on-going but Eden no Ori should do. so: Mayonaka no Cross Method (fits into #7/#24/#54/#58/#60) Apocalypse no Toride (fits into #7/#24/#58/#60) Eden no Ori (fits into #60) If my recs were not up to your satisfaction/mood/taste let me know, will think of other things for you then :) |

Hi! Could you give me a recommendation for #60, please? I'd really appreciate it if you name shorter manga (3 volumes or less), I'm juggling quite a few things and can't read long series. I like horror, yuri/shoujo ai, mystery, slice of life, supernatural and historical. Thanks in advance! :) |

Just asking: Does Ichirou Inuyashiki (https://myanimelist.net/character/114453/Ichirou_Inuyashiki) count as a non-human MC? (For those of you not familiar with the premise: He's a normal old guy who dies and then gets reincarnated as a robot in ch. 1) |
Count to 30 -victories: Up to 30: 19 wins | Up to 60: 2 wins | Up to 90: 3 win | Up to 120: 1 win | Up to 150: 1 win | Up to 180: 0 wins | Up to 210: 1 win |

Hi all! Missing a few last items for my challenge (and waiting for some volumes to arrive that are running late >.< hope I don't need to look for replacements) and was wondering if someone could recommend me a title for 60? I'm attempting the length restriction so I'd appreciate something longer than 5 volumes that's complete. As for tags, josei or shoujo are appreciated, no particular genre, but I'd honestly read pretty much anything that you believe is interesting. Also, wondering if I can use Shugo Chara for 41. If not, do you have any suggestions for a >5 volume title with a child MC? My other question got resolved above, before I even asked, it was about if the non-human should actually not look human. Thanks for that! |

I want to use Fukigen na Mononokean for the challenge, but I want to read the Polish release. The problem is, only 5 volumes have been published so far (23 chapters, out of 51 released in Japan and translated to English so far) and there won't be new volumes this year. I don't want to read the English scanlations. So the question is, can I use just those 5 volumes (23 chapters) that were released in my country so far? Or is it only valid if the number of chapters matches the number of chapters released in Japan (51)? @MRC_mod |

@fuyuki I think you should be good? From the FAQ: "Can I use webtoons and/or ongoing manga?" -- Sure, just remember that if they are ongoing, you must be up-to-date with the latest chapter (either raws, released through scanlation or print depending on what you are using) when you declare your challenge complete. So it looks like you can use whatever as long as you're caught up with it I'd just put a link next to the entry to help out the people checking your form though |

Hi y'all - I need recs for #60. As you can see my list of have-reads is pretty broad, but some of my favorite genres are survival horror and good ol' fashioned shoujo romance. I also like shonen; bonus points if the main couple actually gets together through the series instead of just being teased for 100 chapters and MAYBE finding out they got married in the last one. I'm not saying they HAVE to be short, but.... given the amount of time I have left, please don't suggest Dragon Ball (even though I know I still desperately need to read it.) |

Hello everyone! Could anyone recommend me any manga that's 1-2 volumes? I posted on this forum way earlier in the year for a recommendation and someone kindly recommended Sakamichi no Apollon which I really wanted to read, but unfortunately I'm on a time crunch right now with only a few weeks left of the year and can't afford to read anything too long, since I really want to finish this challenge. Genre does not matter, just as long as it's short. Thank you very much! :) |

It’s lovely! } From your list: Taiyou no Uta || v1/ch04 [ shoujo, romance, drama, illness ] { It’s a nice and bittersweet shoujo. } Hope you like it. :) |

:) @VongolaTempesta Hi! ๐ Feel free to choose one: Some short stories: Vahlia no Hanamuko || v1/ch04 [ shoujo, romance, fantasy, collection of one-shots ] { I love this author. She is the same who created “Akagami no Shirayuki-hime”. } Ouji-sama no Yume Utsutsu || one-shot [ shoujo, fantasy ] Seishun Kouryakuhon || v2/ch08 [ shoujo, school, slice of life ] { I don’t really know why I love this so much. The romance is almost inexistent… xD } Atsu Atsu Trattoria || v1/ch04 [ shoujo, romance, food ] { It’s short but nice. } Hoshi no Koe v1/ch10 [ shoujo, romance, drama, sci-fi, space, mecha ] { Sad and beautiful. } Hyakujuu Kingdom || v1/ch05 [ shoujo, romance, school, delinquent ] { Do you mind a bit of bickering? :P } Kotonoha no Niwa || v1/ch07 [ teacher-student, older female, romance, drama ] { If you get the chance, there’s also an anime version. I've already read Hoshi no Koe and Seishun Kouryakuhon and both were great! I think I'm going to go with Atsu Atsu Trattoria, but I've added all the rest to my list for later. Thank you! |

Regarding #69, reading a related manga, is it fine if it's related to something I also read in 2017? Or does it have to be something I read prior to this year's challenge? |
"Hateful feelings. Hurtful feelings. Unforgivable feelings. To face one's own feelings is akin to throwing oneself into a bottomless pit, or setting sail on an endless sea. You must not look there. You must not think about it. Though you search your soul on the dark, heaving waves, you must never look in that place." - Kusuriuri |

Or does it have to be something I read prior to this year's challenge? the manga you read has to be 2017, the manga it's related to can be anytime. Example: I used Wallman, I read it 3 months ago, it's related to Sun-Ken Rock which I started a couple years ago Katzze said: Any recommendation of the romantic genre? Kitix said: I feel stupid recommending stuff to someone who's read ~60x more manga than me, but if you feel like considering a recommendation from a newb like me then here it goes: Life: Senjou no Bokura - you already like yaoi and this one is just too overlooked, it totally deserves more attention. Might seem weird or cliche at first but I think it's worth giving it a chance. Also, it's very short, just 5.5 chapters (I personally wish it was longer though).need recommendation for this one (60) read a manga recommended to you by another manga reading challenge participant in the discussion thread smth short would be nice since i run deadline again lol xD |
