Just what part of Hope's Peak is rotting?

Well, the fact that they're covering for the murder instead of seeking assistance from the police just to "protect" the school's reputation is already rotten. They didn't know that what they're doing is even worse.

yeah. yeah. Kirigiri, your dad is kind of a shit and deserves to be publicly humiliated, sorry girl

Q_Q....welp Peko Kuzuryu & Mahiru are now in despair.
JUUUUZOOOO YOU FREAkING BASTARD. HE FUCKING SPIT ON HIM HEEEEE SPIT ON HIM!!!!!
Now the final push and Hinata gave in. Goodbaye Hajime Hinata see you in DR2 Q_Q
And this final conversation between Hajime and Chisaki....i cried a little....a lot...
THE GODDAMN FEEEEELS.
My body is not read for the upcoming events. I am not ready not for Izuru not for Junko.....

PS: I really hope next Future episode Juzo dies like the bastard he is.

I agree. The bastard doesn't need to beat the shit out of Hinata just to make him stay away. The dude had no chill. But I doubt they'll kill him next episode, for some reason the jerk always last longer than most of the survivors. I really hope he gets what's coming to him later.
Yeah, depressing to think that it would probably be Hajime's last conversation with her.

He punched every MC so far. Only one left is Komaru. I swear to Despair/Hope if he punches Komaru(if she show`s up with Togami and Fukawa) than i will rage really hard.

This episode was a whole lot of "Stuff we already know" though... again. And not even a lot of interaction with Mahiru, Sato and Kuzuryu. Kuzuryu barely talked to Mahiru, it was barely bullying

Please get on with it already, Kodaka

Just a High School? Lol, nope...Hope's Peak is only a high school in the surface, and it is secretly a facility for researching talent (that is full of mad scientists) that is preety much affiliated with the government, and the government pratically controls the police...

You saw the police car in front of the school and the "keep out" ribbons when Natsumi die didn't you? Which means that the police did do their investigations and most likely dicovered the truth of the murders...But by the influential power of both the school and the government, the truth was covered, in other words, the police is useless to solve any situation that happens inside Hope's Peak...

NOOOOOO! Don't do it, Hinata! T.T
And so the despair begins. I really hope Hinata's transformation into Izuru Kamukura is gradual rather than sudden. Slowly watching him succum to the despair within him will be so much more interesting than if his personality shifts in the blink of an eye. I also want to see more of him before he changes. Great episode. I miss the cheerfulness of the first two episodes already.

Finally this episode now awesome I really like Hajime Hinata I understand where he is coming from and how he really wants Talent Its undertsnading. Chiaki Nanami is very nice I like her Its good she is chering up and helping hajime while besides Chiza everyone beside her and Chiza treats him like trash.

Man juuzuo no suprise I hate this man guts well at least he is nice to Chiza and Munakata but everyone else he is absolute asshole. He is pretty much partially responsible for Hajime decision I hope Juuzuo dies In Mirai hen one.

Kuzuryuu sister dies well we know who did it Sato of course It can t be anyone else.I wonder If Junko is pulling strings behind the curtain already

This episode made me really like Chiza Yukizome I like how she always supportive and helpful with Hajime She is cool

... Dude. I already expected despair to be here in this episode, but this was... Urgh, why Kodaka? ;-;

Well... We get to know more about Natsumi and Sato, but srsly? I liked Natsumi, and fuck Sato, she deserved to die, Natsumi was a pain in the ass but srsly, Sato was worst.

I loved Hinata in this epi, there was so much of him! >_< Minami Takayama is such a good seiyuu ;w; Also Hinata's point of viem on the twilight was cool, but I still think that Mahiru and Fuyuhiko would be better to be the "center" of the episode.

Andddddd Sakakura ruins everything again, huh? Chiaki was already making Hajime change his answer and then this idiot goes and do that e_e Hinata rejecting Chisa's help... Ugh, it hurt. ;w;

AHHHHHHH HINATA DON'T DO THAT, YOU CAN'T BECOME IZURU!!! Ç-Ç I want to hug him so hard... ;-;

5/5, I can't stand this despair, but it is too good ç-ç

That was awfully rushed. They didn't even mention Satou's relationship with Saionji, Mikan and Ibuki.
I thought that Twilight would take two episodes or one episode and half.

I hope they show who killed Satou, because it's most likely Fuyuhiko, but that isn't clear. It could be Peko too. And for me this is important for their characters.

But things weren't all bad. The focus on Hinata and Chiaki was great.

That's a bit of a bad excuse. Everything in this arc was discussed at length in both Danganronpa 1 and 2. So technically we've seen all of it.

You are right, it is a bad excuse. But it was important in the game because there was an entire gameplay segment around it. Here, it is shown exactly how it would to Hinata.

Some dies and then someone dies a couple days later. People can assume there is a bigger story there, but why cram it in throughout two episodes? That would basically be an arc with a little bit of Hinata, Mahiru, and Peko, and a lot of Fuyuhiko. What's the point of a character arc lasting a sixth of the total episodes that alienates most of the cast?

The seeds of despair were planted and that's all we needed. I, too, thought it would last longer but it's better this way. It shouldn't be an "arc" as much as it should be a small earthquake in the chain that led to a big aftershock, which was the Tragedy.

We already know how Fuyuhiko thought in that situation because of chapter 2 in SDR2

I think it was better to get Hinata's input and leave Kuzuryu's focus for when he falls into despair by Junko' hands

It was Sato, this is obvious even if you didn't play the game

Mahiru was being bullied/persecuted by Natsumi and Sato cared for her to the point of being a yandere

Not sure how I feel about the fact that the Twilight case hardly had any build up, therefore removing all the tension and potential character building for the Kuzuryu imouto, Fuyuhiko, Peko and Sato. The rest of the DR2 cast hardly had any screentime either, which was saddening.

It was interesting to see the boxer dude though, I did not expect him to show up.
Aside from the rushed case and the lack of the DR2 cast, it was still a highly enjoyable episode.

Pretty good episode. I'm more excited for this than the Hope Arc as of now. Hopefully they go in depth on the murder next episode. I really liked how this was based on DR2's 2nd murder case. i totally cried and screamed during this whole thing. it was like watching a horrible train wreck in slow motion of which you already know the end results for.

i loved seeing how similar hinata and kuzuryuu's sister really are. yeah she's got a toxic determination and attitude but in the end, they both have a common goal. Just like hinata, she probably would have done anything to get into the main course.

it's crazy seeing hinata spew all this "there is more than just talent" stuff, only cuz he heard it from ppl close to him but he's still super conflicted internally about it and it only took a couple of harsh words to change all that progress. I like how this reflects his personality exactly as he was in SDR2 and how extremely insecure he was and hypocritical at times.

It pisses me off that sakakura and munakata are sort of the same, having that high and mighty tone, thinking they are actually special and above others. In DR1, talent was pretty much a confusing burden for all the kids and we saw them grow and learn what nanami is learning. For the trio though, it's like they are exploiting every bit of it and trying to put down others by showing them what's best. For SDR2 kids, their talents was just a part of who they were and something that helped them cope with their crappy personal lives.

Anyways, no matter what greater good Munakata's crew is trying to do, they are still doing absolutely nothing to fix all the shady stuff that was going on in Hope's peak. If anything, Chisa is the only one trying to make a difference here.

That other teacher with the hat is suspicious now too, just for the fact that he was involved in this Hope project. At the end of the day, they provided the platform for the despair incident to happen. Junko knew they were manipulative and corrupt by using the students, so she used all the situations to her advantage.

I did wish to see more on twilight murder but i feel like they just used that as a stepping stone to bring about Hinata's development and transition into Izuru. I feel that this arc's purpose is to bring simultaneous despair from the past and show its effects in the future arc. Everything being revealed here will just add more layers to the future arc anime.

It really hurt a lot to see Hinata giving his goodbye's to Nanami but them playing video games together was truly a gift. Also seeing the SDR2 kids laze around during lunch time.

i can't tell if they're condensing twilight syndrome so much because they want to entice more people to buy dr2, or if they need the time for the tragedies.

like other comments said, this just shows you rly do need to play the game to get this. not sure if they'll even show who killed who. they did do a decent job on natsumi though, she's pretty multidimensional for an one-episode character. lots of angsty feels for the natsumi/fuyuhito/peko scenes q___q

shipping hinami pretty bad too. chiaki is such a sweet little cinnamon roll, i can't.
also rly worried komaeda isn't even going to get a major role. like no matter how you cut it, he's the best written character in the franchise. hopefully he comes in later on.

side note: WTF i never noticed hinata's voice actor also does conan. i watched all 800 episodes of that shit and it didn't hit me at all.

I think this would've been better as 2 episodes, and to have developed the murder other than something that "just happened".

Natsumi could've had a redeeming arc where she at least tries to become a better person thanks to the help of Hajime, and Sato could've shown a more empathetic and "regretful" side to herself, besides just being a bit cuckoo.

Other than that, it was definitely interesting to see this infamous murder finally play out in front of us, and show how there are actually bigger implications than we could've imagined. I wish we would've sticked to the fun happy moments before "MURDER" occurred, but at least that gives plenty of time for a plot to move forward.
All hail the Almighty Funyarinpa!... Wait, what do you mean you don't know what it is?! How DARE you! SAY you're sorry!!! APOLOGIZE TO THE FUNYARINPA!

It's interesting that the despair Hinata felt from Juuzo's treatment was one of the factors that made him decide to become ultimate hope. It seems like this hope was already tainted before it started.

Excited to see his character change over time, I assume Chiaki's fate will be a huge part of that.

Yeah we can only assume they have plenty of plot to show us in the next episodes, so it's forgivable that this episode had to be rushed a little.

STOP IT WITH THE HINANAMI SCENES. It'll just bring in more despair when the first tragedy happens gdi. The feels in that fountain scene. Whether you interpret it as either romantic or platonic, you can't deny that they have beautiful chemistry together. Hinata's such a submissive, tho, following along Chiaki's gaming whims hahaha. Does this mean they see each other everyday??? Chiaki, my sweet pea, you don't know how much of a hope you're becoming to one little Hajime Hinata by just talking to him everyday. ;;;;

So we got more background from Sato and Natsumi. Natsumi a bitch with a soft side. As much as I don't like her mean side, I sympathize her a lot. Nothing makes you feel lonelier and more worthless than the feeling of being left behind, especially when you just want to stand on equal footing with someone you highly admire and respect. I would've liked a bit more background to what went on with Mahiru and Natsumi but seeing how unstable Sato became is enough to give the audience an idea.

Ah Sakakura. Disliked you back in Mirai-hen, dislike you now still. You're only redeeming quality is that you are being voiced by Junichi Suwabe. Speaking of which, he's playing a lot of dark-skinned characters lately xD

Props to Chisa being an awesome teacher. I really like her. :)

No Hajime! DON'T GOOOOOO. Please let pre-Despair Izuru be a good person. At this point, the chances of Izuru killing Chiaki is really, really high. Right now, I'm only wishing that Izuru was /forced/ to kill Chiaki, not because he was some crazed manic looking for Despair and he decided to take it on her thanks to Junko.
