Lol this isn't my thread :P And a company can't "not have time" for such a good investment. If they have time to work on anime that won't earn them nearly as much money as NGNL S2, then they will most likely have time to work on NGNL S2. The point of being a company is to make money, so investing their time into something else isnt gonna cut it. Unless every project they are working on is projected to be more successful then NGNL S2, which is incredibly unlikely, as Season 1 is in the Top 50 best rated anime ever. |

| Eighth volume is needed to complete the arc so the second season can not be in development right now. Animation per episode doesn't happen linearly/chronologically but happens at the same time. In comparison to season 1. . Volume 3 came out January 25 . Anime announcement in July and came out April of the next year. Assuming the author returned to his five month release schedule, volume 8 will come out between December 2015 and January 2016. Add six months before announcement, add roughly a year for it to begin broadcasting. Assuming Summer or Fall 2017. It's not exactly a close date but it's the best we got. I think the biggest hindrance right now is probably just the fact that it's Madhouse pulling the strings on this, and historically Madhouse are quite infamous for not doing consecutive seasons of their adaptations very often at all, even when it logically seems warranted. So we can't really assume anything here There's also the fact that at the end of the first season, they made a teaser by showing the ending of volume 6 all of a sudden. Some people think this would make it difficult to just continue where the story left off in the first season and thus that it's less likely for a sequel to pop up, but personally I don't really think that'll be too much of an issue. With some good directing that should be an issue you could quite easily skirt around one way or another. However you also have to argue that the whole reason they made that teaser in the first place was to motivate people to pick up the light novels in order to get to see the continuation, so it's very likely that they're satisfied with what they got out of the anime and are thus not really considering making a second season Either way I don't think it could happen before let's say Fall 2016 or so at the very earliest, but if it's going to happen then probably not any later than 2017 at least. If we still have nothing by then, you can probably kiss your hopes goodbye. As it stands right now, anything is possible really. Personally... I'd really like to believe a sequel is going to arrive one day but I'm not getting my hopes up either. I'm more or less 50/50 on the matter |

| There still remains the possibility that another publisher will obtain the rights to NGNL, and possibly make season 2 I guess... In which case, S2 may be released in 2016 (best but least likely case scenario) Though if they can imitate the quality that Madhouse produced is another question. |
