Would Bakuman count as an anime about a person who is a professional in their field? Can anyone recommend me a good three-cour, preferably fantasy, anime? Finally: Watch an anime recommended to you by another Anime Watching Challenge participant I'm not very picky, but please don't recommend me anything ecchi or shoujo. Not really fantasy, but close. Tonari no Seki-kun is very fun. I hope you like it. |

If I'm seinen, it's correct to use josei with the demographic? (Since it's for females). Or it has to be the complete opposite? (shoujo) Also, it's correct to use Seitokai yakuindomo for non-romantic relationships? (Since all the characters bond in the student council, but they don't develop romantic relationships, I think). Or it has to be one anime that it's about 2 people only, and they are in a non-romantic relationship? (Like father-son, or brothers) And for the romantic relationship, they need to be/end together, or it can be one of those animes that they are always playing with the idea, but never have the guts to do something, even when both clearly want to be together? |

But you could put Yuru Yuri in other items like: 'main cast only children' or 'main cast only with one gender', etc... What you should be looking for is Shounen. There's lots to pick so it should be easy :) |

Im referencing: Watch an anime with less than 10k/25k/45k completed members Go to the anime's page and click the stats tab. It's a pain in the ass but you kinda have to check them individually. Either josei or shoujo work fine if you're seinen. Whichever you prefer. Hmmm, I'm not familiar with Seitokai yakuindomo so I took a look at Wiki, and I guess you could try something else just in case. Have you thought of Usagi Drop? Or Natsume's Book of Friends? Both are brill. As for the romantic anime, it has to be exactly that: romantic, regardless of whether they end up together or not. Nisekoi would work. Also, anything else that has romance as a genre. |

I'd assume this excludes harem. The way it's worded leads me to believe the show's primary story is supposed to be based around a couple and their relationship, not just any anime that is in the romance tag. Nodame Cantabile would work but Sakamichi No Apollon not really. Lovely Complex would work but Nana not really. Honestly, most of the highly rated shows in the romance tag I would say don't qualify for the challenge. Haruhi, Kenshin(not sure about the OVA), Bakuman, Tatami Galaxy, Major, Cross Game, Toradora, Host Club, NHK, Nagi No Asakara, Berserk(weirdly included): all stuff in the romance tag that I wouldn't consider an anime that "focuses on a couple with a romantic relationship". And I think Your Lie In April is arguable as to whether it counts or not, and that's the second highest rated show in the tag. I haven't seen after story so I can't speak on it. |

That's the main focus of the show. Her growing on him and them becoming a couple. The reason I say the other one's don't work is because that either isn't the premise of the show or it's a harem/love triangle/love pentagon. Saying first season of Nodame doesn't work is like saying first season of Shirayuki. Edit: The way I would look at it is, if you took the romance out of the show and the show still makes sense as a show, it's not a show that focuses on a couple with a romantic relationship. In Nodame Cantabile's case, if you took all the romantic tension between Nodame and Chiaki out of the show, you have a super boring show about a concede dickhead ace music student convincing an idiot savant pianist to win competitions and then says "haha i'm great, i'm going to paris show over". That's not a good show. I'm gonna use Nana as an example because it's the easiest and freshest in my mind(I'm not picking on it, I really like the anime for Nana) but if you took the romance parts out of Nana you still have a sitcom/dramedy about 2 girls that met because they have the same name and are roomates in a big city because they are poor and the relationship and strains on said relationship. That show still totally works. It actually works so well that a show that is exactly that(beside the same name bit) actually exists on syndicated american television: Two Broke Girls. That's kinda how I see most of the shows that I edited into my last post. Shows that would still be perfectly fine shows without romance but use romance to advance a non-romantic plot because it's convenient(or they don't focus on 1 couple). Where as a show like Nodame, the point of the plot is to advance the romance. |
