Man people have really high expectations if they're giving this a 1-4/10. I really enjoyed it 8/10. If you want terrible, never watch Glasslip (Gave that one a 2/10).

Well, that was.. flat
overall awful story telling & pacing, so characters like Sala, Takajo and Misa didn't important at all? just for relief, 23-24 episodes should have executed this better -_-

dissapointed, but still enjoyable

7/10 can change to 8/10 will re-watch

Overall the anime is good but too much plot holes and the ending feel kind of rush. I was hoping P.A works will be able to redeem themselves after the failure of glasslip but it seem they didn't.

After watching Clannad, Angel Beats, Little Busters!, and now this.. I can now safely say that i'm going to stay away from the future works of Jun Maeda.

Every time this guy concludes a story, I always have this "maeda facepalm".

2/10 Overall.

Rewatched it. I didn't see many problems with this episode, BESIDES four things:

-The pacing.
-I wanted to see more about Yuu's journey. Some episodes about that would be really cool.
-It needs more episodes, or another season. IS NECESSARY.
-It was a little weak, but I got what I wanted: Feels.

Anyway, good series for beginners. The idea was nice, but wasn't well developed. It was entertaining to see the powers, Yuu stealing' em all, and the story overall. But it was too much information for a 13 episodes series. Did I say that Charlotte NEEDS MORE EPISODES? And there were characters that didn't receive development at all. And the pacing is still a problem.
7/10, maybe 8/10, I don't know. Going to rewatch everything later.

you and Katsuruka are two nice people, that I met thanks to Charlotte.

Amazing timing with the police chopper, and why was he eating those crossbow bolts? We may never know.

My god that was a terrible last episode. We got a bit of edgy Yuu again. Some random bullshit like his brother just popping out nowhere and saving him and why didnt he heal himself when he was all tattered there close to the end? All the characters were little fuckers, especially Yuu. But fuck the music was good and it was aesthetically pleasing, the only thing that PA works can do right.

I want to hate this but Im such a Maeda fanboy idk what to do with my life right now.

How did this manage to end so poorly? I've never seen such a promising show turn to such shit so fast. Wow, I'm in aww with how horrible this anime turned out to be. Maybe it could've been better if it was two cours? They would've had to rewrite almost everything in order for it to not be terrible. But that's in the what if world were this would've been two cours and this is the real world were it was a steaming pile of shit. I regret watching this.

2/10

This pretty much happens with every Aniplex original. Its so surprising common it amazes me how many people have failed to connect the dots. Overhyped shit pretty much every single time.

True like series like FSN UBW we get alot of hate on it in the threads. Same with Angel Beats while it was airing it got alot of hate but after it ended and people marathon the anime now it's one of the well-known key anime and people loved it. It's going to be the same with Charlotte later on in the line.

And how lucky again that they guy with the seeker power just happened to be way more powerful then Pooh. And how lucky... you get the idea. Fuck this show. Hope Rewrite is better. Can't be much worse.

I'm not reading the comments to see if anybody has replied to your post yet, but I don't think it was luck. He bought a list with information on people who had abilities. Who knows if that was the first power he stole? It skipped over a lot of the details. The ability to find other people with powers seems to not be uncommon, so I think it wasn't luck. He was looking for those abilities first, and he found them. It just didn't go into detail how he found them.

I'm happy the show was wrapped up and complete, but this kind of thing reminds me of SAO. A lot of time goes by in the course of the first half of season one, but they skip over most of material they could have gone into. Honestly, this could have been a much longer anime than what it was.

Though, the fact that it was so rushed did give it a certain effect. Every time the map was shown and it x'd off a country, I felt kind of scared. He was taking so many abilities. Each of those x's contained thousands of abilities. I really felt bad for Yu.

I think they could have made the show much more detailed, it was indeed wrapped up too quickly. Also, Yu went back in time before his sister died, right? But he helped save Nao's brother AFTER that. He didn't repeat the process of saving Nao's brother, and yet it still showed that he was saved at the end. That was a big plot hole I noticed.

Even though I have all of these complaints, I still gave the show a 10 because of the way it made me feel. It was so intense I felt nauseous the entire time while watching the second half. If a show is able to illicit such feelings out of me, it did a good job.

Sorry for double posting, but I wanted to answer this question.

The doctors apparently created a vaccine to cure the abilities, so I'm assuming they gave that to him. And if not that, I don't know.

too optimistic, I think....AB had feels in the end and a some typical backstories to draw out people's emotions...

Charlotte had neither any feels....nor some sort of char development , except yuu....and a plenty of plot holes(Ab also had too)but I think here it was too stupid

This anime was trying to do a blend of some popular anime....first SOL kind of development....then Steins;Gate, Code Geass and finally anime adaptation of "travel around the world in ? days" :P

Everyone grows out of the abilities after teenagery, that's why he was in a hurry to get them all before he lost the ability to get abilities.

Ending is worse than expected. I thought it would be something big, but it is just showing Otosaka traveled around the world stealing abilities, and showing how stress he was.

He stole so many powers, which made him crazily overpowered, but still managed to remain sane with the help of Tomori's flash cards. And yet in the end he is admitted to a regular hospital?

How did he travel around the world? The damages caused by him should make him news already. He might have blacklisted in the entire world. Assuming if he takes plane, he would have been caught by the security in the airport. But the anime only shows him taking a plane to Singapore, and then no more.

Still, I like the music and art in this anime. Decent story but disappointing ending, but I will give it a 7/10.

Vaccines don't cure diseases. They prevent them. Giving someone a vaccine after he or she's already infected is pointless.

Well, he does have the ability to fly. And later on he gained teleportation, but who knows if that has any limits on the distance he can travel with each use.

I don't really understand...at first i was enjoying the slice of life component of the first few episodes. Even though i recognized it was slightly silly, the pacing was just fine. Then we had Ayumi's death, to which i decided to postpone any kind of reaction until the next episode. After finishing episode 7, i was extremely skeptical about the turn the series was going for, specially when you handle a post-death huge depression that suddenly comes to an end after hearing a couple of nice words in one freaking episode. But...then comes episode 10, probably my favorite episode of this season and one of the best of all little anime i've watched. Seriously, everything felt so right about it, it even made me appreciate all the previous episodes that much more. It was not by chance that the ratings absolutely skyrocketed on the same day the episode was released. From that point, i could never imagine the 3 last episodes would be the worst in the series. Simply put, the last 3 episodes don't belong with the rest of the bunch. I'm sorry but comedy/slice of life and drama might be plausible and work some or a lot of times, but put something like episode 4 and 11 side by side. Heck, episode 13 could have been an entire anime of its own, the way i see it. His "final mission" could have been a premise that actually allowed for a show full of drama, action, intensity, inner conflicts, relief here and there that would actually be consistent. I thought that after episode 10 this show had actually something to it. At the end of 13, even if the concept was just badly portrayed or i didn't quite get it, i can't help but feel Charlotte ended up being a compilation of 13 episodes where nonsensical drama arose here and there to catch the attention of the viewer, and maybe persuade him or her to consent anything dramatic without trying to be critic of it. Furthermore, at the end of episode 10, the show as a whole left an impression on me. After episode 13, it's hard to think about anything other than the inadequate pacing and drama moments. I'll finish my ranting before i force myself to talk about the weird evolution of feelings between Yuu and Nao (though i start getting the idea the best way to get someone to fall in love with you is by helping/saving them. Don't worry bachelors, there's hope for social workers, psychologists and so on...)

2/10 not worth.

The fact that he invaded country after country and the show ends with him getting away with it without people coming for him... that's just...
It's international now he should be infamous all over the world for doing what he did. This show just continued to get worse and worse over time.

Why didn't he heal his eye and go back and save Kumagami? Because good writing :^)

You failed me Maeda
It was fine until episode 6, then it took a sharp turn for the worse
This would have been great if there was good pacing and/or two cours, would have addressed the ton of plotholes and set us up on a proper feels
In the end we got a cheap and rushed happy end, too convenient

I was amused when he went to the Philippines though, the way they drew the streets and houses were spot on, and some stores in the background had signboards for real life products here. They did their research.

I'd just believe that Charlotte ended on episode 10.

So Yu is now a Magellan navigating the entire world, relieving all the wielders in the world of their powers? And accomplishing such a feat in less than a year? I haven't seen a notion so surreal in years, if ever in anime. Silly. He won over Nao too. Wow.

Overall a very jovial conclusion to the series, something Jun Maeda isn't too familiar with. With that said this anime was very lackluster, possibly his worst piece of work yet. 4.5/10, will round to 5 cause I'm nice.
Why do people have such bad taste? Anime isn't subjective anymore.

Yuu became Gary Stu really fast, and everyone just trying to shoot him everywhere. Can't he do this plundering things without making commotion?
One-eyed grim reaper? Really? The rumor and that name flies across the world, too.
Then, that scene where Yuu said he want to rule the world stuff? I laughed.

Then, it ended with Yuu lost his memories for some reason.
......So, what exactly Maeda wanted to tell in this series? There are lots of foreshadowed things left unexplained.

Still (9/10) for this though. I laughed at this even during serious moments. Thanks for the laugh, Maeda. Never re-watching this again. Lots of wasted potential. I can see other people can write this better.

Great last episode and satisfying ending, although it would be better if Yuu's adventure around the world had 2-3 episodes long. Overall it was a good way to wrap things up even it was a bit hasty.

This definitely doesn't need a sequel, but an extra OVA which take place after the last episode is always welcome.

8/10 for always made me curious and the entertaining ride.
