Blah. Pinako saved this from being a bad episode. I just couldn't care about anything that happened.

For some reason, I was happy when they showed Hohenheim dead. What made me sad was Edward losing his ability to use alchemy. I thought that white dude was about to give him some superpowers or something. I hated May Chang again in this episode; I just wanted to choke her. Edward should have sacrificed her to get Alphonse back <_<;

That was a kickass penultimate episode. It did have some sad moments though.

When Al finally gets back and Ed acknowledges Hohenheim, he has to die...like, wtf?

So I wonder how Xing is gonna end up now that no one has the secret to immortality.

Can't believe it's gonna end next episode...I don't know what to watch that could compare to this.

One thing I loved, beyond all others, the fact that the nails (finger and toes) that had been inside the gate, while no where near as long as they really should be, were noticeably longer than the ones that were properly cared for.
Gotta give the animators props for that alone.

Also, doubt Ed's alchemy is completely gone, there's a hint that he tries it in the preview, and the fact that there's actually a refrence to the bible in there.

Solomon is told he can ask for money or power or something, but instead he asks for wisdom. Given the wisdom asked for, as well as money and power. That would just be a topper for the great story that is FMA.

Should it be sad now that twice in a season I've been glad that subs scrolls by to quickly for me to process?

Don't forget the little chunks of automail shrapnel still left in Ed's shoulder. Didn't notice that in the manga, but it's there, too (as are the long fingernails).

Wow, Edward got a nice answer there. the ending is Epic, but the fighting scene kinda weird. Ex: Selim defeated that easily now. While the fight with him before the day seems really hard, even Al must lock him.

Awesome anime.
So I was thinking, does Ed giving away his Gate of Truth mean he can't use Alchemy at all anymore? Including Xing-style alchemy? Or does it only apply to Amestris-style alchemy?

I'd assume he could use Alkahestry if he wanted to, but I'm not sure. He definitely can never use Alchemy again, though.

Though that'd be bad, since it'd ruin the whole thing about Ed sacrificing the ability to use alchemy to save Al.

This has been a long time coming. I couldn't be more satisfied with the direction this has taken. And Brotherhood has finally surpassed the original anime for me. I just had to see how things would turn out. And as for Ed no longer using alchemy, I'm fine with that. God bless you Arakawa.

Waaaaah~ That was really amazing T___T!!!

Even when I thought after reading the manga the finale couldn't make me cry again, it did >_<! But I guess that's normal, it's really good, after all...

And not that anyone even cares, but I did make a bet with my friends where I told them that "RAIN" was going to be the ending for the last episode of the series, since it did have that ENDINGish feeling to it from the start... I was off by one episode in the end, but let's say that the Epilogue doesn't count >=D!

I'm really looking forward to 64~!

I'm normally quite the icequeen, yet I cried at the end of this episode, even though I knew what to expect.
Even though it's the end, I'll miss Hoenheim.:(

I know I sound ultra mean, yet I found Mei quite annoying.:p

Ed pounding Father the old fashion way was fab', he'll do just fine without alchemy.;)

Alphonse needs a Burger King session.

I don't understand why bones had an average animation director working for this episode . I don't get it . . For such a key episode , damn it .
The animation wasn't even close to the last three episodes and the artwork was too simplistic . .

That was a really emotional episode. Despite me not being very fond of Father or Hohenheim, I felt sad when they both died. I've got to say though, Ed really is a genius. He's the only person to figure out that he could sacrifice his Gate of Truth, his ability to use alchemy. Although I don't like the idea of Ed being unable to use alchemy, it was much better than sacrificing a human. It was an unexpected and pleasing twist. I really enjoyed this episode.

Okay although I didn't understand what the truth said when he said that he's the same being as that flask guy, I would have to admit that this episode was extremely awesome. So Father and the Truth lost to Edward Elric, lol oh my Edward is so strong.

Anyways I am sad to see Hohenheim pass away. Well I think he was contented of his life and wants to see Trisha soon so I guess he was happy when he die.

Oh and Edward can't use alchemy anymore? So basically he sacrificed his alchemy powers to bring back Alphonse's body? Also why did the Truth disappeared when Edward destroyed his own gate of truth? The fuck?

So they finally took away Greed for good. Well, I guess I must be happy for seeing him this much. After all he was one of the main reasons I started watching Brotherhood.
About the conclusion... Well, I really expected nothing more than sugarcoated deus ex machina ending. And in fact this is what we got. Fullmetal Alchemist was, is and will stay the better anime IMO.

So everyone has its own Truth? (Hence the "...and I am you.") There really were some very good ideas regarding that concept. Food for thought, I'd say. Anyway, this is far from being one of my favorite episodes but it is a fitting way to end the conflict.

I voted 5 out of 5, but if it was now it would be a 4.
Father was a let down, and the way Ed beated him was kinda lame.
Also it looked forced the way greed died.
