short anime are known for closure? i mean how many 1-2cour anime exist, who ended in the middle of the story with no real ending? 6 out of 10? :D

perfect anime can be 12 eps, 25 eps or 500+.. i dont care. i really enjoy OP or Naruto f.e and since many years its a tradition to see the newest ep every week... i also enjoy short anim.

I prefer short running series since the long running ones tend to be repetitive over tome in terms of how the story goes. Plus I'd rather watch 10 good short running animes than watch 100 of episodes one anime.

I like them both, but I tend to enjoy longer ones more. A key example is Major, by the end of it I was so attached to Goro and the other characters, I felt so sad at the end, really wishing I could see more of them. I'm not sure if I ever have gotten that sort of feeling from an anime under 50 episodes.

True, Major is awesome...
And Goro it's a lovely character.

I feel like long anime tend to slow down events in the plot just to have more episodes. This could come in the form of straight up filler episodes, or just slowing down what could have happened faster, or putting focus on something that doesn't have to do with the anime's story.

I like both, but each anime is different in plot, and has it's own ideal length. For example, an anime like Steins;Gate was just the right length with the single season, the OVA and movie were nice additions. Lucky Star, on the other hand, is something that can go on and on, because the plot isn't really moving towards a goal, it's just based on the daily lives of a group of girls.
I could agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

I'm more inclined to like a specific series more if it has a lot of episodes.

The more time spent watching = the more opportunities, the more experience, the more memories = emotional attachment

This is one of the reasons why I don't see One Piece ever leaving my (legit) favorite's list. Shorter series definitely have their place though.

Nice forum pic.

What's your opinion on something like Steins;Gate or Angel Beats or some good anime that has one season?
I could agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

I prefer shorter series definitely. I have other hobbies and pursuits, so when I go to watch anime or read manga I'd rather watch 1 or 2 short series and actually finish them or complete a significant portion of them than spend hours watching or reading a tiny portion of one work.

Longer shows and manga get bloated by fillers and rarely seem to go anywhere fast. They just seem to drag on and ON lots of the time. Sometimes I don't get how people can keep going on with them without losing interest.

Long anime's are for the weekends when I've got nothing else on.

Shorter ones are for the evenings etc

Depends on my schedule I guess

that determines which I'd rather

I prefer short. I can't get into long series at all because I usually lose interest before I get far into it.

Only 25 episodes into Cardcaptor Sakura and I'm already struggling to push through it.

Long shows can be pretty sweet but shorter shows tend to be way more entertaining and more to the point. I dont prefer either to the other.

Jizzy as you would call yourself because youre a dick The most butthurt award goes to you And clearly you havent watched that many shows thats why you cant determine if a show is unique or not Or maybe you're just a child who likes common stuffs where hero saves the day and guys gets all the girls. Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

I haven't really watched long running anime but it's not something I really want to watch. Maybe if I started watching a long running anime when it came out, that would be fine, but I don't want to sit down and watch 200 episodes in a week. Especially if it has too many filler episodes.

I find shorter ones much easier to get into since I am very reluctant with starting long anime. Though I still prefer long running ones.

As the time passes, I get more and more into them. Get attached to the characters and setting more and I know they will be there for a long time to entertain me.

With short anime, I usually get really depressed when they end, if they were really good. I just want more and then it eats me for days.

Both have their merits though, and I enjoy both.
