I hope Tokohana hits at least close to 10k eventually.

Maybe Sunrise will take some of their money and put it into a new 50 episode Gundam/mecha tv series...please? Or is that too much to ask for?

I dropped Ars Nova after two episodes. I didn't like it that much, but I don't know if it get better in later episodes.

In my case i recomend it but if u watch it until ep 5 or 6 and than if u feel it is still not good than u can drop it but at that ammount of episodes it wil give u general good idea of how the series is as a while

That source seems to be wrong, nothing wrong with my math. You forgot to include the DVDs.

So now you went from 'we won't get a 3rd season' to 'in general'?

Guys the figures are:

OVA: 4,484
S1: 4,788
S2: 4,245 (it is the average of the BD+Vol.1 DVDs to get 4,245 on the DVD/BD wiki.)

It says under 2010, 2011, 2013 for OVA, S1 and S2 respectively.

But you can't get 4,245 for S2 if you found the average. Just sum up disk sales and divide by 6. You'll get 3736,83

You are assuming DVD for v2-6 sold zero copies which isn't very smart.

Man Gundam Unicorn took it this week by storm. Hopefully Sunrise continues to make OVAs like it, because the way they handled Unicorn was great.
I can't wait for the Origins movies which hopefully (probably) will be of the same quality as Unicorn.

I know exactly what will result if you consider Vol.2 to 6 having sold 0 DVDs. However, the BD/DVD wiki did it the way I stated (check http://bit.ly/1oQpjBf to see if as *4,245)

Average: BD Average (of what actually is known) + DVD Average (of what actually is known).

Average: 3,635 + 610 = 4,245.

Makes no sense skewing the average down, unless the DVDs sold close to 0, but we know they didn't.

Unfortunately not.
If you have data for everything, you do can add everything up and divide by number of volumes. However when some of data is lacking, it's a common practice (for all sales-related sites and people talking about this subject) to use BD average + DVD average = final average. Here we have one data point for DVDs so we use that. It isn't perfect because v1 sold the most but we can safely assume the difference between v1 BD and v2-6 wasn't too big because BDs didn't fell significantly, Tamayura is very consistent.
If you're using dvdbd wiki as a source (good one but a bit slow) you should have noticed it lists the average at 4,245 as Ejc explained in more detail. You didn't really help your case by mentioning this site.
Oh, and it's not an estimation based on rankings here. Forgot to clarify.

Selling around 3K for the 1st volume doesn't seem to be very high in my books but I might be mistaken.

Maybe it's me but a lot of 2014 shows tend to have some selling difficulty.

XD apparently they are delaying sales of M3 BDs/DVDs "to improve product quality". In another words it's selling so poorly that they don't want to release it.
