| I was looking and comparing the trainer, Mr. Okada, with Rio's father and for a moment I thought they looked alike, for a moment I thought of an intriguing and mysterious ending but it was not the case. Everything was found out at the end, but those kids had some fun at least, and then someone called the cops (damn you old lady!). But I think that's the best, I mean Rio was taking more that she can handle by herself. Both, Rio and Natsu moved on with their lives, that last phone call makes me believe they will be together in the future. |

| 5 really short chapters that can be finished within 10 to 15 minutes or so, but it broke me from start to finish. What a cruel society we live in, and this is a good representation of children living in a world of evasive adults. Short but sweet ending, but story could've fleshed out a bit to make it immersive, but for what it is, the structure is more or less perfect. Wished this'll notice someone to make this into a short film. |

| The part with Natsuru grabbing his mom's boobs was weird as hell, but it makes sense if you consider that she allowed him to call her "Ritchan" (like you'd call a friend) and had him listen to all her light novel manuscripts. And it fits with her talking to her husband's photo, worrying about being an unfit parent. Was wondering how much money they had to live off of, and it's odd that that part wasn't addressed. I doubt their father sent any money. Maybe grandpa had some savings stashed and the kids found them after he died? The ending was a bit too rushed for me as well. It's a pity we don't get to see more of what each of them did after the secret was out. 8/10 overall, still an enjoyable read despite the bumps in the road. |

| This was a sweet coming of age romance The shorter length definitely made things feel a little rushed, but I felt like it had a pretty solid ending. It would have been nice to have an actual reunion moment for Rio and Natsuru, but the phone call was cute and left things on a hopeful note. |

| It was ok. Sweet short story though the characters decisions are definitely terrible. The Dad literally made up the most obvious lie like he didn't even try to come up with a good excuse. Who goes to fucking Alaska to catch crab? I know the girl is 11 but she should have known better. In the 3rd chapter I think tries to justify it because she's protecting her father and their name and she seemed so sure about her decision but In the end ofcours her father wasn't in Alaska and he was just being a deadbeat parent. If she called the police way back she wouldn't have to live with a corpse in their garden for months and her dad would have been caught and exposed immediately and she wouldn't have to deal with the trauma and bad reputation. 6/10 mc is kinda eh too. |
| Dad got what was coming to him, so I'm satisfied on that front at least. As much as I want to call the ending bittersweet, its open-endedness has this subtle air of optimism that makes it really stick with me. Don't care if it's hopium, those three eventually became a family at some point. |
