Personally I think they all had elements of comic relief. They all brought some sort of unique humorous aspect that when mixed all together was just wonderful.

Now I feel like I should explain more why I am literally in love with Sachi. I feel sort of connected to her. I mean my parents are still alive and I am not an only child but I understand her fear of disappointing people. Another reason I like her is that her H scenes are perfectly mild, not too weird.

Michiru's H Scenes felt the most normal to me on Eroge standards. They really felt a bit unoriginal to me, the rest of the H-scenes were indeed unique and fun, I didn't find them to be weird at all... But like people said, blowing the school and that leads to an Outdoor H-scene of Sachi, that indeed felt a bit out of place.

At least do it inside and not after your making entire establishments explode to bits...

Well I guess I should have stated it better to begin with... I mean the actual sex they have, not the circumstances it takes place in... Like Amane's is some kinky stuff and bodily fluids spill out, which is a little weird for me, I mean I enjoyed her route and everything but some of her H scenes were too extreme for me... But anyways I am not disagreeing with anyone, I am just stating what I think.

Yeah Sachi and Michiru sex scenes are pretty normal in terms of the sex. Yuuji and Sachi are very weird so blowing up a school and having sex, was not very offputting for me. I mean it's Yuuji, why would he give two craps haha.

Makina's sex scenes were the most out of place if you ask me. Though it was pretty obvious they were just thrown in there for the sake of it.

Its hard to pick xD while I did put Kazuki and Makina in my favs I also wanted to put Michiru Sachi and Amane *^* (count Yumiko out,I really dislike kuuderes since my encounter with Inaba from kokoro connect..)
Makina and Sachi were so damn hilarious
Amane is just so nsjnfjsj..the feels(she and Yuuji are my OTP in this game)

Gotta love Michiru fake tsundere attitude haha
Anddd Kazuki is awsome , i've got no other things to say about her.

If we go by hilarious quotes, who do you guys think would win? I mean obviously, Yuuji has the best quotes, but lets talk about the girls.

I may be biased, as you may tell by now... But I particularly like "The rain in Spain falls mainly on my Lady Jane #wet"

I do also happen to like Makina's and Michiru's whole English conversation.

"There are many complicated reasons...but I think the main one would be, they asked me to." (Michiru asking Sachi why she has to go home).

Sachi has all the best quotes in the game easily. Her being a subtle bitch to Michiru is probably the funniest running gag.

sachi definitely has the funniest quotes based on the things she says and what she means between the lines.

makina is just blunt and out there, which is always funny.

amane has that kansai dialect, which makina probably picked up off her, and shes the slutty character of the group. sachi possibly picked up the sex lines and such from amane too. amane gives everyone a piece of her.

Sachi's casual verbal abuse of Michiru has a plethora of great quotes, but yeah above all the #wet one is probably my favorite of any VN ever.

Makina is still easily the funniest character overall just due to the way she talks and acts though.

At least most of us agree Sachi has great quotes... even if she isn't your favorite girl like mine... But I love to hear other people opinions on their best girl, so I like this forum.
I can answer for my friend too who doesn't have an account on here. He likes Makina. He says Amane comes close but just something about Makina attracts him. He likes to try and make me sad by mentioning the Feelz of Sachi's route randomly... Specifically her bad ending since my game glitched and reversed the decisions leading to her good and bad ending so I went through it traumatically without meaning to.

It's the opposite of me, I love Amane, but I dislike Michiru. What similar is that Yumiko and Sachi are also tied with me. I'm neutral towards Makina.

I think I might be the only one who actually didn't like Sachi's bad end. The writing felt extremely weak to me.

But the good end was extremely well written, so it's all good.

Nah I didn't think Sachi's bad ending was very effective either. It was trying way too hard to be dark haha.

Most bad ends suck in games though so I basically skip them all. They all feel like shallow game over screens really. The only exception I've read is Kara No Shoujo where it had very in depth bad endings at times.

you have to admit though, that amanes bad ending was more detailed than the good ending, strictly speaking the forest scene.

you have the good ending where it all plays out like juicy yuujis a ninja and jumping all around the father an then taking him down quickly.

then you have the bad ending, where even though it is unrealistic to hold onto someone after having your head blown off, it was just so much more. that could just be me though, maybe no one else saw it the way i did.

Well I mean yeah, Sachi's bad ending wasn't the best writing. I have admitted that to my friend before... But still going through it when you don't want to go through it and seeing it happen to someone you like kinda just made it worse for me. I don't know about everyone else bad ending because I fast forwarded through them so I could get 100% without too many more feelz.

Also referring to the good endings... Sachi's was really good and left a impression on me because damn mayne, obviously I think that. Amane's ending picture with her and Yuuji in the sky really left an impact on me. Other than that The other's good endings, while leaving me with a good feeling didn't impact me all that much.

Honestly I don't know if I'd say any of the endings were 'impactful' per se, that's not really where the strength of Grisaia lies.

Makina's bad end stands out due to how incredibly fucked up it was but other than that, not really. Grisaia does not have an amazing story nor is it particularly emotional; its strength lies in its ridiculously amazing character cast and great humour + entertainment value in even the most casual everyday situations. None of that has any real effect on how memorable any of the endings were though.

as much as i want to say no and keep beating the dead horse about how impactful amanes bad ending was for me, after thinking about what you said and what grisaia is good at, i suppose i do have to agree. grisaia does excel in humour and entertainment. and possibly some of the best h-scenes ive seen from a VN.

in terms of impact alone, i think manly picnic from katawa shoujo beats grisaia lol.

Well I guess impactful may be the wrong word for it. I am thinking that when it has the well written feelz moments, they actually get to you because of the humor in it. I do agree that it is amazing on it's humor and character mixing alone, but I feel that even if all of the feelz moments are not the best written they still add a good bit to the overall experience.

Also To Hitman, I don't know if I can agree with any Katawa Shoujo scene being better than Grisaia... Although Katawa is damn good and I almost died of feelz overload when I thought Lilly was leaving for Scottland and never coming back with Hiaso having a heart attack... But that of course isn't related to this thread, so maybe some other time.

but yea, it does have some feels regardless that the impact isnt exactly impactful. the game isnt void of all feels in it at all. just lacking the power behind it.

I somewhat disagree that Grisaia has no sense of impact in it. Yes it's mostly for entertainment, but to me the best moments in the game were all the girls flashbacks. All were impactful in their own way, all were very well done.

I think the intense amount of relief you get in Sachi's ending for her and the intense amount of sorrow at the same time on a wish that couldn't be fulfilled perfectly is really well done. Most visual novels will have incredibly happy go lucky endings so Grisaia not choosing to cop out with bs in any of its endings was a refreshing change of pace.

Like if this was a standard visual novel. They would have had both of Sachi's parents survive and in a coma, and then both would wake up by the end and be a happy family again. Yumiko's mother would of woke up and her dad would have reconciled with her, etc. That kind of bittersweet ending is lacking in most visual novels.

Well said man, I felt the impact when the flashbacks connected to each character's quirky personalities. I felt happy knowing that they had a reason to act the way they did besides being considered "moe" by some shallow judgement on the writer's part in order to turn a quick buck.

I'm not gonna say they can't have any impact at all, but yeah I'll definitely agree on that it lessens it severely. No matter how sad or emotional a story is, if you know in the back of your head that "this didn't actually happen" or anything similar along those lines... it can never really hit you as hard. It's kinda like you're giving yourself an easy way out via a simple excuse.

To counteract that I like to mentally envision if it actually happened and I was a part of it. I think about how it would feel and how I would react. It works for me and goes a long way in helping me feel the feelz. It might not work for everyone though.

I don't know if we are just letting this thread die, but I did think of something else to talk about. Ending songs, if you already talked about them I wasn't here for it... Personally I really enjoy all of them, especially Sachi's of course, except Michirus...Not that I don't like it, it just doesn't seem up to par with all the others for some reason that I don't even know... That being said I don't speak Japanese so I have no idea what the songs are saying and Michiru's could have the most meaning behind it and I wouldn't even know. They could all be talking about dicks and I wouldn't know.
