| If you had the money and both FF XIII and FF Versus XIII were availible for you to buy and you had a PS3 (since Versus won't be on 360), but you could only buy ONE of the two, which would you choose? For reference here are the trailers for both games (make sure to watch them in HD or else they look terrible): FF Versus XIII Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6At_bb1PNU&feature=channel_page FF XIII Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdGc8EA82-Q&feature=channel (I'm not counting Agito in this as it's for the PSP whereas you can get XIII and Versus for the PS3 (you can only get XIII for 360)) As for my opinion: Versus, hands down. XIII looks intriguing sure, and maybe if I have the chance I'll pick it up, but if I had to choose it would be Versus. The plots aren't entirely the same, but they are in the same setting basically, but the characters of Versus are a lot more interesting to me and I'm far more intrigued by the story. Plus I'm a shameless fangirl and Noctis (in the Versus trailer) is based off of Roxas and Zexion from Kingdom Hearts, so what can I say, that's a reason too. Also, I'm not a huge FF fan, so the fact that I'd even be willing to buy XIII means I think it's going to be pretty damn good, I just think Versus is going to be delectably epic. How about you? |
| I don't know much about Versus other than it's an action rpg and unrelated to regular XIII's story. But versus sounds like a spinoff (not saying it is just seems like it) so I might get the 'main' attraction firsthand or just get the one people are talking about more. |

| At present, I do not possess enough data to make a proper judgment, and will therefore abstain. I'll be getting both naturally, but I must confess Versus seem to give off a more interesting scent so far, what with Shakespeare quotes and all. As long as it is as awesome as it seems and doesn't turn into what happened with KH2 (That secret video thing in number one was as misleading as shit in a confection), and especially if it has a tragic story, it certainly seems able to outperform XIII. |

| Turn based is for those who cannot switch commands and units quick enough in action based battle :3~ It is okie <3 Both on IGN were listed as Action RPGs I believe. The game play for FF13 - I can't tell what it is so bleh. |

Mostly because, and I feel no shame about this, I am a total fangirl and it's one of the reasons I'm more likely to buy Versus. However if the gameplay sucks I will be pissed, regardly of how good-looking the characters are. I think they'll probably aim for release dates close to each other for the two, since they're part of like, some...FF XIII 3-game Super Awesome Thing, it has a better name than that but supposedly that's how they're marketing it. ..And oh god, he does. I liked the disney x Final fantasy concept but I agree the Little Mermaid sections of the series wasn't fun at all. :< But if Versus really is an alternate version of KH's battle system I could prefer that game more. |
| Versus XIII. FF storylines have always struck me as too happy and light. A fantasy depicting gore and a much darker and bleaker tone? Hell yes. From all those trailers, I'm expecting the best FF story. Period. What am I expecting of XIII? Just another FF experience. Yeah, my expectations for Versus XIII is pretty high. |
| I never played a Kingdom Hearts game as I do not have such an imagination to be fine with FF mixing with Disney [since I don't like FF to begin with], but if the battle system is rather great on Versus - I may have to change my vote. |

Neither seem like a cheap cash just to make money(like DoC seemed to be). Personally I'm hoping the combat for Versus XIII is a FF version of DMC(action wise). :p LoL, I had to wiki it to remember what it was exactly. | I think its pretty cool the stylised action and stuff in the versus trailer, but I would have to see actual game play examples and not just a trailer to decide which I would prefer. As someone else said, versus seems a Kingdom Hearts type, and I didn't like that, even though KH had aspects and characters from other Final Fantasy games I do like...that alone doesn't keep me interested. |
